Desire is not shameful or dirty.
I know it's a joke when wlw say "I'm looking respectfully", and of course we are, because there's nothing disrespectful about looking sexually.
I look at women with desire. I look at them with lust. I let my gaze wander and wonder, and I want her. I want her with a throb of heat in my gut, a pleasant shiver, my heart a bashful drum.
I want to love another woman physically. I want to touch and kiss and caress and grind and embrace and hold and taste.
I look at her breasts and want to feel those beautiful curves and touch her sternum.
I look at her hips, wide and round and beautiful and perfect.
I look at her belly and want to caress its plumpness, kiss my way down her navel and lower.
And I want to touch her intimately, I want to caress and feel her, outside and in, and I want to give her carnal pleasure.
We are not wrong or dirty for wanting. Desire is not ugly, and desire is not shameful. Sexual desire is good and wonderful, and woman-loving women deserve to enjoy the experience and pursue the act.
My tummy doesn’t have to be cute. It holds my internal organs. My thighs don’t have to “crush men’s skulls”. I use them to carry myself. My stretch marks don’t have to be tiger stripes I earned. They came when I grew.
Stop.

This!
I feel like even body positivity is too focused on, like, the appearance of the body. I know I became a whole lot happier with my body when I started thinking of it less in terms of how it looked (to me or anyone else) and realized, that, like…
When I feel cool breeze on my skin on a really hot day, my body did that for me.
When I step into a bath after a hike, and my muscles ache, but in a good way, and the steam all around me makes me feel like a flower blooming, my body did that for me.
And the hike before it, and standing on a large rock breathing the raw winter air seeing the power of the half-frozen river. That too.
When I’ve had a plate of pasta puttanesca, and I chopped and sauteed the ingredients and now I’m full-but-not-uncomfortable, and warm all over, and perfectly content, my body did that for me.
My body doesn’t have to look awesome to be awesome. It’s awesome because it’s where I live.
Best comment.
“[My body is] awesome because it’s where I live.”
Words. To. Live. By.
Finally, some real body positivity
Focusing on the positive and pleasurable sensations my body is capable of experiencing did so much to help ease my sex dysphoria.
If I stop worrying about the appearance of my body, and start focusing on the experience of my body, I can redirect my energy to more enjoyable things that make me feel good in a deeper sense.
I want any young woman who follows me to understand that if you see “hot takes” of women saying sex can be a service, and it’s empowering to have sex for money, and that it’s virtuous to have sex in situations you don’t want to, and part of you in your brain goes “some of it makes sense” then there is a very good chance your metric for determining what good sex is has been warped. You actually can and should only have sex when you absolutely want to, with someone you are besotted with, and it should be love making, it should be fun, it should be stress free, and you should orgasm almost every time so much so that the times you don’t orgasm is negligible to not even count so that you can literally say you orgasm every time. Like you can have a sex life where sex is never ever ever ever ever a chore, you really can. You can have a sex life that is never half hearted. Everything you hate about sex, or think you don’t like, or you suffer through, or only tolerate, all those things can literally always never happen in your sex life from this day forward. It is absolutely possible to have sex in a way where you are never sacrificing for another person. Please believe me!!!
Reminder to gay people that you’re never ever obligated to go out or have sex with someone you’re not attracted to. You’re not obligated to give them a chance or even a second glance. That’s because you’re not a validation tool. You’re a full human being who deserves to be with someone who will meet your physical, emotional, and sexual needs. Never let the homophobes on here tell you otherwise. Your orientation is perfect the way it is.

A man would never be expected to get off through sex acts that ignored his primary sexual organ.

Without an accessible language of female sexual pleasure to draw on, Anne [Lister] had devised an idiosyncratic lexicon by which to record her sexual activity. ‘Grubbling’ meant using her hands to bring another woman to orgasm. A 'kiss’ was another word for orgasm, and 'going to Italy’ referred to making love or having full sex.
