Don't Leave Me Again\\Barry & Lucas
Sapphire orbs stared blankly at Barry, trying to keep focused on what he was saying. That shouting…it was desperate…pleading… He closed his eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath and forcing his legs to hold him up; they shook underneath him, but he remained standing. “…I’m fine…” He murmured, his voice shaking.
Lucario had enough, busting out of it’s pokeball and startling Lucas back to the ground. The pokemon stared down at it’s trainer, before scooping him up and tossing him over his shoulder. “A-ah!” Lucario looked at Barry, gesturing him to lead the way.
No, one thing was for sure, Lucas definitely was most certainly not fine! Just as he was really about to let him have it, Lucario seemed to have already took matters into his own hands. "See, now it's fine!" Barry chimed, a little less stressed now. He then began to lead the pokemon, continuing in the direction he was going before he found Lucas. He kept accidentally going too fast and having to slow down, it was a bit irritating, but what was one to do? "The next town shouldn't be too far!" He informed them excitedly. Well, 'town' was a bit of an overstatement, but it was true that they were more likely to find supplies, shelters, and whatever else over there than over here. Barry may not have had a map, but he was pretty sure this empty route wouldn't go on forever.
Don't Leave Me Again\\Barry & Lucas
He stumbled a bit at Barry’s tugging, his vision trying to clear as he blinked rapidly. He wasn’t used to this anymore, the constant urging and pulling they had done in their childhood.
Barry’s exclamation about the pokeball caught him off guard, and he glanced down. He only barely noticed they were frantic. “…I don’t want…them to get sick too…” he mumbled. Too…that was a horrible word. he wasn’t sick. Or was he? Aw hell with it. He was sick he just didn’t want to admit it. Honestly, preventing his pokemon from getting sick was what kept him from calling on them nowadays.
He gave a look of disbelief, "Whaaat?! That's crazy-talk!" He began, "You're not sick! And besides, they'd be better off sick than without you anyway!" He realized he was almost yelling at Lucas and quieted himself down a little before speaking again, "They're your best friends, you know...?" He by no means wanted Lucas's pokemon to get sick, and he probably didn't exactly have the right to speak for them either. However, he knew how he would feel, and was almost sure that the pokemon would feel the same. After all, they both cared about Lucas enough to want to help, anyway.
Don't Leave Me Again\\Barry & Lucas
Lucas felt the tugging and groaned a little, letting himself be tugged back up to his feet. “Barry…” he groaned. “ I’m tired…” Truth be told, his body was radiating the heat he was feeling. Was it real heat, or a fever? Lucas didn’t really know. He just knew he wanted to lay down.
The pokeballs on his hip were vibrating violently, all his pokemon trying to get out of their balls. They were concerned about their trainer, knowing something was wrong.
"Don't be tired!" He looked at Lucas with uncertainty, "You're fine, okay?! You're only as tired as you say you are!" Of course he was mostly lying, but nonetheless, he continued attempting to pull his friend forward by the wrist. However, he could already tell they wouldn't get very far. He then brought his attention to Lucas's pokeballs. They seemed to want to be able to help as much as Barry did... Wait, that was it! "Lucas, why don't you use your pokemon?" He suggested, a bit of urgency to his tone, "That's what they're for, right?!" That last bit came out a little wrong, but he was sure Lucas would know what he meant anyway!
Don't Leave Me Again\\Barry & Lucas
Lucas watched him for a long moment, before he gave the faintest of smiles. “…I’m so glad to have found you…” His mouth was so dry…it hurt to speak. “…I missed you…I was scared I wouldn’t see you again…” His hand touched at Barry’s shirt, and at the confirmation he wasn’t hallucinating, he started tearin up. “Barry…” He let his arm drop numbly, but a smile was on his face.
He practically flinched from Lucas's emotional response. Oh man, was he going to cry or something? "J-jeez, it's fine!" He insisted, "Did you really think I'd be taken down that easily?!" The truth was that Barry didn't want to be seen getting emotional, and when he saw Lucas like this, he was desperately trying not to tear up himself. "You're fine too, you know!" He declared, hoping that in doing so, it would be true. "Let's just get up and go, alright?! I'm sure we'll find a shelter or something!" He said, now starting to pull on Lucas's arm.
Don't Leave Me Again\\Barry & Lucas
Lucas grunted quietly as something slammed into his side and tumbled on top of him. He almost didn’t even bother to open his eyes—until his mind registered a familiar voice…
He rolled slightly onto his back, just as Barry was over him; to an outsider, it would probably look awkward. He didn’t reply for a long moment, staring. “….I’m tired…” he mumbled, his eyes glazed from exhaustion and the heat. “….I tripped and just…didn’t try to get back up….” He paused, before slowly reaching up to touch his old friend. “…is it really you, Barry…?”
He stared at his friend with blank confusion. Was he alright? "Of course it's me!" He reassured him, "Who else would it be? Somebody pretending to me or something?!" He looked at him, waiting for an answer. Instead, Lucas began to reach his arm out towards him. "Hey, uh..." Jeez, what was he doing now? Lucas wasn't kidding when he said he was tired. Barry wasn't going to lose his friend just after finding him, was he? Regardless, he decided to try his best to stay still for him anyway.
Don't Leave Me Again\\Barry & Lucas
Someone. Anyone. He needed someone at his side. He was lonely, and he was losing his damn mind. Well, he thought so anyway. After all, he must be losing it. Maybe Arceus never did speak with him. Maybe he had imagined all of that after the event. Maybe the event had caused him to recreate memories, to try and make things easier. Were they really though? He wasnt sure anymore. Lucas wasn’t sure of anything anymore.
He stumbled. Why was everything so hot? When did it get so hot…? He tripped, his legs giving out beneath him. His pokeballs shook frantically against his hip, panicked. “I’m so tired,” he mumbled, trying to ignore the heat blazing about him. “I just want….to lay here….” His eyes slipped closed for a moment.
“…I wish Barry were here….”
He ran and ran yet again. It was just like old times! Well, except that it was really nothing like old times besides the running. Actually, he was finally beginning to accept that things might never be like 'old times' again. None of his friends were around, there were no real cities, and he couldn't even battle anyone. Just then, as if on cue, he could have sworn he heard a voice say his name! It couldn't have been a second later when he had tripped over something, and face-planted straight into the ground. "Ow, ow, ow!" He complained, but this had to be a person, right? Quickly, he sat himself up and looked over at what he had, quite literally, stumbled upon and instantly recognized who it was. His eyes lit up and he felt a new surge of adrenaline rush through his veins as he positioned himself directly above his old friend to look down at his familiar face. "Lucas!" He exclaimed with a grin, "Whataya doing on the ground?!"
Hikari | Barry
He ran through the mostly empty field, running along where he decided where the path would be. Even if he had made it up, it felt much better to assume there was a path at all. That is to say, it used to be that there always was a path. As well as there always being a much cooler temperature, and other trainers, but he knew those things wouldn't be normal again for a long time. Still, he tried his best to keep the most positive outlook as possible, and even let out a somewhat forced grin. Honestly, it was less of an expression and more of yet another reassurance that things would be fine. However, what he saw next was all the reassurance he needed. Off the 'path,' he saw the extremely familiar back of somebody he was particularly fond of. Hikari. It couldn't be, could it? For a second, he thought he might have imagined it, as some things just seemed a little too good to be true. But at the same time, it just had to be! Nonetheless, soon his grin became much more genuine, and his fast pace became even quicker, as he darted straight towards her, "Hey!" he cheerfully called out for his friend, whilst waving his arms up and down, "Karikari!" THUD!

Bel chuckled nervously. How can she say that she was going to pick pocket him. It probably wasn’t best to lie. So she imitated like she was opening his bag and taking his stuff. would he understand?
He blinked. Was she motioning what he thought that she was motioning? "Eh, you--" He began to spout an accusation, but then cut himself off instead. That wasn't the point, and it was probably best to take things slow anyway, even if he'd rather have things go as quickly as possible.
"You aren't stealing from people, are you...?" He asked, a little confused by his own words. His own adorably ditzy cousin, now a thief? When he really thought about it, it almost sounded crazy.
