💔 20 years ago was 21-years-old Matthew Shepard declared dead.
A student at the University of Wyoming was tied up to a fence and beaten to death for being gay. The only part of his face that wasn’t covered in blood were pure lines left from tears running down his face.
His death became a symbol of violence against gays and brought international attention to hate crime legislation which was later signed into law.
🌎 People all around the world die for being who they are instead of solving real problems. There might be another kid bullied for being gay in your neighborhood and we don’t even know it so better save your hateful comments because perhaps it might be just you who makes others feel bad.
Remember that homosexuality is not a choice, being homophobic is.
