Argentina hate post world cup
Ever since the World Cup ended, I've seen a huge wave of hostility directed at Argentina as a country, which frankly bothers me. While the Argentine national team's attitude on the pitch was unacceptably and undeniably aggressive, that doesn't justify the flood of misinformation online, including accusations of genocide, claims of systemic racism, or political rhetoric surrounding the Falklands.
Furthermore, other teams like Australia and New Zealand played just as aggressively during the tournament, yet faced nowhere near the same backlash. It makes me wonder if the double standard and the label of "thugs" used to refer to the Argentine team stem partly from economic bias against poor nations.
