The girl was young. Pretty enough if you liked that sort of thing. And she claimed to have money. Work had been slow lately. Everyone too busy spending the holidays with family. He… did miss his sister dearly. So this would be a proper distraction.
“-right,” he said as he gestured for her to take a seat across from him, once more settling into his own desk-chair. “-I’ll need the specifics. Sketches will help. I charge $200.00 a day, plus expenses for my services.” a high cost. But he was worth it “-and I give you a time-frame. How long I feel the job will take. If I get to that time point, and have not completed the job, I will contact you before continuing.”
Rae glanced over at the chair, once the man gestured to it, then hurried to sit down before pulling out a large sketchbook from her messenger bag. The price didn’t matter much to her since she figured it would be worth it as long as Eugene was found, so she didn’t look up or even try to haggle with him when he was explaining how everything works. A soft chirp escaped her lips as she flipped through the pages, “...Right, gotcha.”
There were so many sketches to choose from, but she needed to find the ones that she wouldn’t mind parting with in the mean time. Which was hard to do, considering that some of these were drawn during her last days with Eugene, to say the least. “Here we go!” she spat out in an excited tone, being careful to tear out the pages without ruining the artwork in any way. Her heart practically skipped a beat, or two, when she handed over three sketches that showed great details of his facial features along with a full body portrait that gives an idea of his build and clothing preference. There were hand-written notes on the back of the full body portrait such as his previous alias, real name, height, weight, birthday, and the fact that he’s ambidextrous. All of which was written down in hopes of finding him safe and sound, without much thought about this information being used against him.
“I can pay the daily fee and everything else, just let me know if you find anything at all about him... Oh, and-- Thank you so much for doing this! You would be a real life saver if you can find him and it would truly give me peace of mind too.” Rae simply smiled sweetly at John Clayton, thinking that he was someone to be trusted and feeling a lot better about this whole situation since someone might finally help her after all these years. “Um, just for curiosity’s sake... Does he look familiar to you? Maybe you’ve come across him already in your line of work?”
