Okay so I had an idea and idk if this has been done before but it’s fermenting in my brain right now

Ghost skk AU (kind of)

- Dazai’s a ghost hunter. He’s had experiences with ghosts and spirits before, but he usually stays out of large cases. He is forced into taking this case, though, and he’s sent to this old as hell manor, because people keep sending in reports to the ADA (I have yet to come up with a paranormal-themed name that can be shortened to ADA) about weird as hell things happening around there. The occasional unearthly shriek or two and the likes.

- Chuuya’s dead. He lives in the old decrepit manor, was killed there, and is now tethered there. There are two reasons he hasn’t fully crossed over.

A) he was murdered. Idk how yet, but he’s pissed about it. And B) Arahabaki. When he was alive, Chuuya was taken by scientists (of some sort) that attempted to force the remains of Arahabaki into this poor seven year old kid. (I might refer to Arahabaki as a deity of sorts, though it is a singularity, please don’t come after me)

Because Chuuya was the vessel of a god in his life, and Arahabaki is essentially a piece of him at this point, the afterlife will not accept his spirit. Gods and other deities do not belong in the afterlife, as they are reborn rather quickly. So thanks to Arahabaki, Chuuya’s left lingering in his old musty manor.

Chuuya also can’t manifest a semi-physical form like most lingering spirits can, as manifesting draws on a spirit’s lingering energy. All of Chuuya’s remaining energy is being used to keep Arahabaki from fronting, because that would be bad.

- Dazai’s clairvoyant, though it doesn’t affect his perception of Chuuya. He can see the distortion around Chu a lot better than most, but he can’t make out an actual form

Genuinely I have no clue if any of this makes sense, I thought of this at 3AM when my cat woke me up.

Absolutely LOVE when people draw the fem vers of characters like atsushi and akutagawa and dazai with a flat chest because they have Litterally been incredibly malnourished for YEARS they would most likely not have developed a big chest so every time I see these in designs I feel a part of my soul heal
