It was another demigod party hosted by the Sun twins. Not only were their friends invited but so were many other demigods to enjoy the company of each other. Maddie had asked Jess to DJ the event for a bit before switching out with someone else for the rest of the party. Meanwhile, Andy and Jimmy had been going through a drinking contest with some of the others which, to many peoples' surprise, Markus had joined in. As the night continued, Markus would grow more and more intoxicated by the time Jess found him he would smile drunkenly at her, wrapping an arm around Jess's shoulders "Hey Sexy~ how's your back feeling? Cause I can always blow it out for ya" He said with a hardy laugh.

"Oh my gods Markus" Jess said with a snicker, shaking her head at him. Shadow travelling the heels she had been carrying in her hand away. Jess instead wrapped a supporting arm around him and pulled him close to her, tapping his nose with her free hand "How much have you had to drink tonight? And how much of it wasn't water?"

Markus made a thoughtful look as he tried counting on his fingers before rising one to Jess "That many" he said with a grin so stupidly large it's threatened to break his head in two

Andy would walk up seeing this his hair abit mess for some reason but did look concerned "He okay? Are you? Need anything? We can get you guys a room or a car?" The male sun twin asked abit too quickly

"Sweetheart” Jess said, giving him a look that screamed ‘oh dear’ before gently patting his hair “I think it was more than just that one, any water?”

She flashed Andy a quick smile before slowly raising an eyebrow at him, giving a quick side glance to Markus

“He is very drunk and I’ll just be taking him back to mine, get some water in him and see if he can’t sleep this off. He’ll be fine. Do you wanna take a minute to breathe there my dude? you good?” She asked

Andy flashed a smile "Ya sorry. Never seen him like this it's very surreal but if you got him I'm sure he'll be fine" was his response as Markus just chuckled "Cereal would be great right now"

Jess seemed to visbly relax upon Andy’s reassurance and flashed him a smile right back

“Yeah, I got him. I’ll make sure his hungover ass messages you in the morning so you know he’s alive. As much as I suspect he’ll regret being tomorrow” She said with a snicker before just fighting back at giggle. Of all things, of course cereal “Correct there.”

Andy simply nodded while wearing a kind smile "Okay then I'll let you guys head out then. Be safe"

Markus chuckled as he started humming old 2000s songs once Jess started moving again

Seeing this 5 something girl effectively dragging a guy a few inches taller than she was and managing it just fine. Once the pair got to the car Markus had stopped giggling but still had on a smile that could rival Loki's with how much feral joy he was getting from twirling his fingers in Jess's hair

It wouldn't be just Lucas many of the people of the town had fainted moments to minutes after the creature was slain it was all very bizarre for a small town like this. Nonetheless, the people who were unconscious were moved to the town's clinic to be observed for the time being. The good news was all the people had awakened, the bad news was they started acting strange, talking about something called The Hated One or a bright night sky or the oddest claim of them all was some story of about a man destroying the world's greatest evil. It wasn't long until the once-sleeping people had left the town one after another that Lucas was the only one of them to remain. It had been a warm, summer day when Lucas had asked to speak with Astral alone. He would wait by the oldest tree just outside the town's defenses but he had to talk to her

As Astral walked to their meeting place, she couldn’t help but feel that something was amiss. In fact, this feeling had lingered ever since that night Lucas came home severely injured. She saw Lucas by the tree so she smiled to greet him.

Seeing Astral, Lucas would nod returning the smile with a grin “Thank you for coming to see me. I wanted to tell you that I was going to leave town” He began with a sad smile on his features

Astral’s face dropped. Leaving? She thought along with a hundred questions in her head. She tilted her head and furrowed her eyebrows in concern. She pursed her lips trying to formulate any response. “Oh, I see.” Was the only thing she managed to respond.

He nodded “Yes I felt it best to tell you, seeing as we have been friends for years. I didn’t feel right just leaving without telling you since I may never see you again” He continued grabbing his left arm, the one that now had a scar from that night, “I am very sorry. The voices are just too strong and I fear they might somehow make me hurt you for not listening.”

Astral pursed her lips trying to process everything he had said. She couldn’t ask him to stay any longer in this town, but she also didn’t want him to leave. “Where will you go?” She asked in a sad tone.

He shrugged "I don't know. The voices have been talking about 'A power to stop the gods', not sure what that means but it's a start" he says moving to hug her "I'm sorry. I'm so very sorry but it will be okay. I will return. That's a promise, one day I will be back"

Astral went into his embrace. “Can I not go with you?” She asked him. He had been her companion for so long. The town had been quiet for a long while. “I want to go with you.” She tightened her embraced, trying to stop her tears from falling.

She couldn't see it due to how close they were but Lucas had a smile "I don't tell you what to do. If you want to come that badly, I wouldn't mind the company I have a feeling that whatever is going on will be quite a long journey for me" he replied returning the tightened embrace before letting go "What are your parents going to think?

Astral lowered her head. She didn’t him to see her teary eyes, but his question brought her back to reality. She felt guilt being their only daughter, but she knew that she would try to find Lucas eventually even if her parents stopped her. She looked up at him. “I’ll take care of them.” She gave him a grin. “You won’t get rid of me that easily.”

Lucas nodded at this, his old self shining through for the first time in a while as he smiled "Okay then. I'll come get you tomorrow afternoon. Pack a bag"

The hardest part of leaving wasn’t convincing her parents to let her go. In fact, it was the easiest part of it all, given that they were anxious their only daughter was going to leave home indefinitely. It wasn’t even the last meal she would have with them. She had thought it would be packing her stuff to go. The hardest part was having to let go of everything she knew her entire life.

She sat on her bed and looked at her packed bags. What’s going to happen now? She thought to herself as she waited for Lucas to arrive.

Lucas would be at her place the next day as promised. With a grin on his face and a single bag on his back he would look at Astral's bags then to the girl herself "Okay ya ready? We'll be heading to the town up north first so we need to make sure to have extra blankets" he said patting the bag he had "brought a new tent too just for the trip"

Astral did not notice Lucas had arrived and was startled. She smiled as he told her the plan for their journey. She nodded when he finished. “I guess this is it.” She said getting up to pick up her bags. “Seeing you like this tells me I’m making the right choice.”

Nonetheless, the people who were unconscious were moved to the town's clinic to be observed for the time being. The good news was all the people had awakened, the bad news was they started acting strange, talking about something called The Hated One or a bright night sky or the oddest claim of them all was some story of about a man destroying the world's greatest evil. It wasn't long until the once-sleeping people had left the town one after another that Lucas was the only one of them to remain.
