Today marks the 50th anniversary of the first Grateful Dead show ever played. At the time they were called the "Warlocks" and they barely filled Magoo's Pizza Parlor.. They would go on to not only play a few thousand more shows, but also to create a culture within a culture and change history forever. When Jerry Garcia died in 1995, it was the end to the band "The Grateful Dead" but it was not the end of what he helped create. That culture is still living strong today and runs through the hearts and souls of millions of people - some of who were born after his death. I am proud to call myself a Deadhead and I thank all of those guys (and girls) for going out there and living up on that stage for all of us to see, admire, absorb, etc. Thank You!
