Ragnor could tell he was thinking fine by him was really a fan of silences in conversation. Much better than no room to think,or otherwise stretching some more had to admit was grateful trouble didn’t find him as easily compared to Magnus. Then again did have the reason that kept him hiding in his manor so there was that. 

“Had my fill of shadowhunters so spirit’s all can offer.” Looking curiously wondering what sort of vampire’d be at-maybe he didn’t want to know. Readjusting how he was sitting,”One way to record the event,and naturally though would be extreme on their part considering not like is many other people who’d put up with them or be capable of dealing with all you do.”

He would do it.  Magnus knew that already.  The Clave already had no respect for him, so nothing to lose there.  He made the wards on the Institute so he knew how to get in and get out without them doing anything to him.  And he wanted to believe that Alec would choose him when the only other option was marrying out of duty.

He smiled, “If this doesn’t work out, I will be going into hiding just like you, my friend.  This will be the last straw as far as I am concerned for the Shadowhunters.”  Perhaps not fair to put it all on the shoulders of one man but Magnus had given them plenty of chances over the centuries and they never failed to disappoint.  "The vampire will be there. Sherwin or something like that.  I’m sure he owes me a favor or two.  I’ll just call it in.“

Was a mess that bit grateful his only involvement was hearing about it,along with the slight nudge he’d offered. That and he was more or less in hiding ever since gave that potion to the one Shadowhunter,Valentine’s ex wife or whatever details weren’t important. 

“Would be an interesting reason to do so,though you’ve never really stayed away from parties and such for too long.” Though his friend was the sort who could balance the two out most likely. Not much room to comment about if it was fair or not that was for Magnus to think of. “Purposely forget the name,or just never paid attention?”

“Sounds reasonable enough.” Ragnor followed behind listening to her,”Never tried it I use portals for the most part being a warlock also beats your standard types of travel.” Giving a nod listening to her had to admit was a style to be had in such things,”More old fashioned then modern in building preferences then?”

“Oh you too? One of my friends uses those-he says they’re quite handy. If you’re good at them, it’s probably one of the better magical ways to travel. And honestly, I’m just used to old-fashioned because that’s the way wizards are. I’m not entirely opposed to modern things-though they are a bit noisy.”

“They’re helpful.” Surprised by what followed was curious,”I’m a bit towards old fashioned but modern’s just as common but depends what you’re talking then again portals as I travel through tend to be fairly new still.”

Could tell that at least his friend was going to try which was fine by him. If nothing would be one interesting story for the future. All that aside was obvious how much his friend cared about the shadowhunter. Which was to say some extent that he’d never seen before from Magnus.

“That I do and why I’ll gladly stay here at home instead of anywhere near it.” Would be curious to hear how it turned that’s for sure,and if it didn’t Ragnor was there for Magnus if needed. Stretching a bit giving a nod,”There is that though highly doubt you’d die that easily.” 

Pursing his lips, Magnus lost himself in his plans for a little bit.  He knew that this could be done but he still worried.  He’d be opening himself up to heartbreak in front of the Clave and the Institute.  He’d lose face with them for generations to come if Alec spurned his advances.  There was nothing to do but trust that it would work out.

“I appreciate that you will be there in spirit,” Magnus grinned.  "Maybe I can get the vampire to record it.  Because you are right, I won’t die easily.“  If Alec did say no and they did try to kill him, it would certainly be something for the history books.  Magnus would make sure of that.

Well certainly had to admit met somebody interesting. Surely have to talk with Magnus about it later. “Possibly but isn’t how things go for better or worst whichever it is.” He smiled just slightly before nodding,”That’s handy,otherwise imagine life would be harder if not slightly miserable.”

“Yeah, I guess that’s true. Either way, life’s a learning experience. Anyway, we can head back to the hotel I’m staying at whenever you’re ready-I figured I’d order up something. My cousin’s well enough off for me to stay in nice places when I travel.”

Ragnor gave a nod,”I’m ready if you are,lead the way.” He listened to the last bit of information was interesting the things some people shared. Much better than talking to somebody that wasn’t of much substance. “That’s nice though can be charm to places that aren’t occasionally then again depends on where you choose to stay.”

“That would help makes for less drama at least as much you could get off the whole thing’s fairly dramatic.” Ragnor would probably never even consider the idea,had to admire that Magnus was finally seeming to get over the closed off situation which formed after Camille if not even now considering crashing an wedding to try getting through somebody stubborn enough like him. 

Magnus would need to make some calls.  He knew Isabelle was as unhappy about this wedding as he was, so maybe together they could come up with something.  Even if Alec didn’t choose him (and, oh how Magnus wanted Alec to choose him), they could at least save him from a life of misery.

“You know me too well, my dear cabbage.”  Though, walking into a room full of Shadowhunters to steal the groom, whose parents hate him with deep, unabiding rage, would be a new level of drama that Magnus had not yet aspired to.  "If nothing else, it will be an amusing story to tell at my funeral.“

“Well he is the High Warlock,and hardly like you’re showing up makes for working smoothly.” That not counting her presence in general would usually set him off doing things even hated about the job to avoid her.  Actually almost envied that his friend wasn’t in the loft unlike him. “Currently in this circumstance not really,entirely different story if Magnus was here instead of you.” 

Flipping an few pages looking through for something mostly trying to avoid paying too much attention to her. “Fair amount of places that have blood stored which isn’t this loft.” Ragnor thought about the ending of what she said an moment,”Depends on who you ask,but you’re not exactly law abiding so either way you’d not entirely care.” 

“Aww, you do care. I’ll have to let him know.” She spoke in a teasing tone, sitting at the couch. “Yeah, I’m aware-but where I was, this was the closest place, and least likely area I’d be killed on the spot.” Camille shrugged, sipping more of the crimson. “Don’t worry about dishes, I’ve got it.” Besides, knowing Ragnor, he’d put it in the wrong place, which would make Magnus tick.

Red lips pursed a moment, sighing a bit in consideration. “I–suppose you’re not wrong, there. I’m sure in your case, you’d rather me be elsewhere? My only other option was Jade Wolf and–some of the wolves there are still bitter.”

"Yeah well he’s slightly less insufferable compared to most.” It was as close to non grumpy he would be at most. “Well there’s that then.” Looking at her as if he would deal with it anyways. Maybe but apparently no need to though that did sound like she was going to hang around longer. 

Ragnor flipped through more pages before glancing back at her,”Maybe the wolves wouldn’t be bitter if you didn’t run around making enemies out of most people,not like wolves and vampires generally hate each other without added harsh feelings.” 

Tucking his legs underneath himself focusing on the book,”And I’d rather you weren’t here because if Magnus comes back much prefer not watching you two bicker.” Waving an hand summoning himself an drink taking an sip,”He had me come stateside for stress reasons-to which you being around would not help much.”

“Sure just come barging in.” Ragnor didn’t even mutter it no use trying to act too pleasant besides vampire’s had their enhanced senses. Watching her accessing the blood storage Magnus kept around for emergencies,vampires. “He’s out right now with work,and I’m state side by invitation hardly out of nowhere.” 

Keeping an close eye should have just ignored the door but too late now. She wasn’t going anywhere soon knowing her so he shut the door sitting down on the couch. “Not long enough,and it’s been productive though we both know you really could care less.” Picking up an book studying it an moment,”You also came here to bother Magnus,seeing as you have probably more blood and then some compared to here.” 

“Figures as much. I always seem to catch him at a bad time, nowadays.” Camille let out a sigh, grabbing a wine glass to pour her drink in. She may be a vampire, but she was classy when it came to her behaviorisms. Heels clicked across the floor, chuckling as she took her seat beside the warlock. “You really don’t want to be here do you?”

A manicure bow rose at his question, ruby lips drinking the blood, again. “I have plenty–I just didn’t feel like making a stop all the way home for a meal. Considering the loft was closer it just seemed opportune. That isn’t a crime now, is it?”

“What if you think almost everyone is strange and creepy?” she joked. “But honestly, assuming my own panic isn’t getting the better of me, the smell is usually off with the bad ones. It’s not a sure thing, but it helps.” She grinned. “Though I have had an offer on help weeding out the creepy females. Or did I ask for that? Either way, my friend didn’t mind.”

“In which case then almost everyone is strange and creepy.” Ragnor gave an nod at her remark figured one of the upsides to enhanced senses could be situations where they came in handy. “Well that should help you out an rather lot,if it helps any at least never fell for one.”

Ragnor almost rolled his eyes at the start of the reply,”Well thanks anyways,though do figure was stating the slightly obvious.” Resting his head back against the chair he was sitting in. 

Of course he had no clue whether the policy would be in effect or not. One could think so but hardly would be announced. “Sounds like she’d be able to do that,and if she’s planning easier than just crashing it entirely on you own.” 

“You are most welcome,” Magnus smirked.  His mind raced with ideas, trying to decide the best way to win the heart of the closed off nephilim.  Isabelle really did seem to be the answer to everything. 

He smiled, “I might be able to even get an invitation.  It would make it less suspicious when I show up.”  While the wards were supposed to keep Downworlders from entering without permission, Magnus made a few loopholes for himself so he could come and go as he pleased.  He’d never exploited it but there was a first time for everything.

Magnus had begged him to stay in New York for an week or two at his loft. So Ragnor was reading on the floor unglamoured in his friend’s loft. Surrounded by stacks of books seeing as was there alone. Save the cat’s who were off somewhere,seeing as Magnus was out being the High Warlock doing wards at some downworld hang outs. 

The warlock however paused hearing an knock on the door. He was comfortable it felt rather unwelcome that being thought stood up carefully navigating through the book stacks. Opening the door an crack only to see an vampire hardly who would expect to be coming to the loft. Slowly opened it more,”Need something Camille?”

“–Ragnor Fell.” Camille grinned, pushing past him into the loft. Raven hair bounced with each click of her heels, knowing just what she came for. “Is Magnus out of town, or something? I never thought you’d be state side just out of the blue.” At this point, she was sliding a painting across the wall, revealing a cooler system installed for some spare blood.

Grabbing the one she wanted, she returned the painting, opening part of the bag to drink from. “It’s been a while, doll. How’ve you been holding up? Any..spicy revelations in that grumpy lifestyle of yours?”

“Does seem to be the logic to follow,and sometimes.” He fixed his jacket some studying an streetlight that went out. Mostly to see it wasn’t the result of anything shadow world related. Apparently wasn’t,”Speaking of my friend probably should find an hotel to stay at,figure probably late enough he’s asleep.”

“Mine probably still has a room or two open. I’ve been in town visiting myself. Made a good friend, so I tend to follow him around sometimes-well, within reason.” She grinned.”Of course you could always stay in my room. I’ve been told I should worry about strange men, but it’s strange women I’m afraid of.”

“Suppose could stay there then,and would be wiser within reason however some people aren’t so logical.” Ragnor smiled an slight bit listening to her remark honestly unsure how he got into these situations occasionally. “Should be wary of both,strange people in general but then again the definition depends just avoid the creepy ones you should be fine.”

Ragnor had a good point.  Alec hadn’t said the words, didn’t bear the rune.  There was still a chance to convince him before it became unavoidable.  "I hesitate to say it but you might be right, Ragnor.  There is still the possibility that I could change his mind.“

The weapons only policy generally applied to weddings in Idris from what Magnus knew.  Would it apply to an Institute on the brink of war?  He wasn’t sure.  "His sister who is a wonderful woman is planning.  I should talk to her.  Maybe she can help me figure out what to do.”

It was how it went for Magnus,and sure Ragnor never saw how could happen so often. But it was just how things went with his friend most anybody who spent time around Magnus knew it. That being said was something better than an lot could say. Merely shrugging at the glare when the pillow was noticed. 

“Plausibly and think what you want.” He relaxed an bit more in the chair maybe just figured was one of those cases worth giving an nudge. Besides clearly was something to his friend,and had been an long time of watching him swear off such things. “You’ll have some hurt either way,all I’ll say is maybe you should take the risk but all comes down to you.” 

Magnus frowned.  Sometimes Ragnor could be so cryptic.  While Magnus liked to be coy, Ragnor had gone far beyond that at this point.  "He sighed, closing his eyes as he considered it.

“He’s getting married, Ragnor.  It may be to late.  I’ve played my last card and I don’t know what else to do short of crashing the wedding.  And, really, running into a room of people who carry blades and wish to see me dead seems like a surefire way to regret every decision I’ve ever made.”    But, maybe it would be what Alec needed.  If Magnus put himself on the line so fully, maybe Alec would see just how serious he was.
