Scars
Monsoon's scars-- Save for Kal'tsit, Gladiia, and Flamebringer, no one has had a full view of Monsoon's scarred body.
He has two large scars on his stomach. Both are from when RI was Babel. One was inflicted by an assassin and another is from when he was incapacitated by Kal'tsit/Mon3tr. His other scars are smaller and are barely noticeable...
"I don't get it but my body kind of hates needles. Maybe it's something I've forgotten..." Macario left Ægir after he found out that his wife had brought the young Monsoon to state laboratories for the infamous super-soldier projects.
Having gone through the experiments himself, he left his wife in a fit of rage and brought his son to the Islanders yet he continued to fight for his homeland. The smaller scars on Monsoon's body are from needles and tubes. He briefly went through the experiments though it was cut short after he "died."
He was pronounced as a casualty of the experiments but with a bit of politics and threats, his name disappeared off registries. He's weaker than any of the Hunters or the cult's attempts to replicate their kind. However, his body heals faster than an average person.
The Doctor has no exceptional Arts proficiency, no amazing powers, not athletic, and easily tired. He's pretty high maintenance to the point where it kind of pisses people off. His way with words, however, is something else.

Monsoon and Flamebringer first met in the Victorian outskirts, away from the city. By this time, Monsoon had already met Kal´tsit. He considered leaving his job as someone in charge of quarantine measures in a private security firm for Rhodes Island (paramilitary org Babel, at that time) yet she already left before he decided.
The Aegir was able to contact Kal’tsit and was able to obtain coordinates yet he didn’t have the slightest idea on how to get to the landship since he was just a clueless scientist. Monsoon found a seemingly well-traveled yet nameless Sarkaz mercenary (Flamebringer, still does not go by this name) in a bar and approached him. He may not know how to get to where Kal’tsit was, at least he can pay someone to help him!
And if he did end up getting killed by this man, then so be it.
The Sarkaz, though perplexed, agreed to bring him to Babel. He’s heard rumors about this unearthed landship and this one feline lady’s reported connections with Sarkaz royalty from his fellow mercenaries.
**I will be referring to him as Flamebringer at this point. It’s hard to merely refer to him as a nameless Sarkaz merc.
The duo traveled for around five months by various means. They’d be lucky to be occasionally accommodated by small scale aircraft to circumvent or fly over wastelands. When they got to Babel, they kept in touch as friends.
As a mercenary, Flamebringer felt the need to leave from time to time though he’d offer his services to Babel when he felt like it (mostly to just see his new Aegir friend). He eventually found a group to lead, which he’d bring to the landship. This lasted quite a while.
The doctor soon felt that seeing this one mercenary gave him joy that he hasn’t felt since he left Iberia, when he was much younger. He remembered that had a crush on one of his childhood friends before he left for Victoria… Monsoon not only enjoyed Flamebringer’s company but he fell in love with him, as well. They’d laugh and drink together, and at some point, find themselves in the same room when they turn in for the night.
Their relationship wasn’t out in the public, they went out in secret.
That is, until Monsoon was assigned to go back to his homeland…
As the only Iberian-speaking personnel in Babel at that time, Monsoon was tasked to establish connections with a local population that claimed to house lost Sarkaz sympathizers of Theresa reach out to his company. It was rather unusual for them to be in such an isolated nation (it was likely that they got stuck in there after an escort mission) but the organization was willing to help.
Monsoon took a squad of a few operators with him, and eventually met with the locals. The lost Sarkaz were found, they weren’t trapping anyone, after all. The group was set to return to Babel in the morning until a number of mysterious figures, clad in the darkest of clothing, abducted Monsoon during the night. The kidnapping was undetected and quick- not a single guard noticed their arrival.
The doctor was taken away by Aegirians assisted by an unknown Abyssal Hunter who was able to sense his presence due to their connection by blood. Recall that Monsoon has traces of his father Macario’s seaborn blood and was unwillingly brought to “check-ups” by his mother, much to Macario’s disgust. He was brought to Iberia by his father and was, therefore, beyond Aegir’s radar.
The rogue hunters did not have a clue on who Monsoon was nor his connection to his father. They speculated that he might be a cultist who has been experimenting on seaborn blood and was hell-bent on either killing him or bringing him to the crumbling state for questioning. Despite this, Monsoon refused to disclose his familial relations in Aegir.
On their way to a hidden location, they were attacked and overwhelmed by sea terrors. The assailants, along with Monsoon, disappeared. The last persons they were in contact with were hooded figures who brought them to a farther, more secluded area in Iberia.
The Babel party, along with the displaced Sarkaz, searched high and low for the doctor for around 72 hours before declaring him MIA.
Monsoon went missing. Apart from his belongings in the camp, he left no trace. It was all too sudden for Kal’tsit to sanction his non-appearance yet word reached the other personnel, including a contractual Sarkaz mercenary who’d frequently visited the doctor. He’s lost several people and yet this one hurt more than it should.
Not to mention the young cautus girl who Monsoon took under his wing felt restless for days, looking for the person who took care of her in her parents’ absence.
Seven months passed since the Doctor vanished. Babel intercepted a message from an unverified channel, near Rim Billiton. The voice sounded familiar- Monsoon has returned as if nothing happened despite looking off! Babel hurriedly sent a squad to pick him up from his location.
Amiya noticed that his eye color changed, and his hair turned into a paler blue. His mannerisms felt different, as if he lacked regard for the world.
Kal’tsit feared the worst. While the threat from the sea is not as known to the public compared to Oripathy, her long life alerted her of what was to come. It was hard to simply throw the doctor out at that point.
Flamebringer was concerned, as his friend, since he knew the doctor prior to when he went to Babel.
The doctor was still an excellent commander and yet his methods changed. Prior to when he was kidnapped, he was much more benevolent, though imperfect. Monsoon´s background in private security made him familiar with how to manage armies and to lead them away from danger. This time, however, he became someone who believed that the ¨end justifies the means.” Several operators were lost under his leadership. This bothered Kal’tsit, the elite operators, as well as a few mercenaries including Flamebringer.
There came a point when he was tasked to command Flamebringer’s swordsman platoon, with the latter as leader. The traitors were slain and the objective was secured yet the Sarkaz were led to their deaths. Flamebringer was left for dead by his commanding officer. Spite, hatred, and betrayal filled his now-empty heart. He severed his ties with Rhodes Island and left without a trace to travel the world once again.
Well, what did he expect? He was a mere merc. Mercenaries are meant to be thrown away after they serve their purpose, like disposable utensils. There’s no such thing as bonds or love…
Dr. Monsoon's life before surfacing to Aegir prior to the Great Silence of 1038
The depths of the ocean is not completely dark. There is light in the ocean floor. Its pitch-black crevices are likely uninhabited. It kind looked like Lungmen down there yet it felt cold and merciless.
Dr. Monsoon was born in Aegir. He barely remembers anything about his past. He had family...
Monsoon is a product of an arranged marriage. His parents never really loved each other. His mother, Valeria, is a daughter of nobilit. She simply wanted to have a kid she could offer to the Aegir government who was, at that time, conducting super-soldier (Abyssal Hunter) experiments.
Her family arranged for her to marry Macario, an Abyssal Hunter and an Aegir.. Macario loved his kid and tried his best to reconcile with his wife. The matriarch, however, was first and foremost, a lobbyist and a businesswoman for power and profit. Macario's appointment as a part of the Aegir consulate further fanned her fury.

When Monsoon reached a certain age, she suddenly changed how she treated him, much to Macario’s surprise. She brought the kid to trips to get him treats and toys and yet the child looked extremely sick right after these little trips. It wasn’t long until Macario found out she has been doing.
The enraged hunter left his spouse within hours and quickly arranged for his son's departure. He simply left and disappeared with their kid. No divorce, no formal separation- Macario left Valeria to protect the child that they were supposed to be entrusted with...
