one time I went over to a friend's house and their housemate was making paper in the living room, and we saw this big tub full of water they were using to dissolve old scrap paper into a slurry, and everyone was immediately like "oh, you need scrap paper?" and started turning out their jacket pockets and producing expired coupons and bus tickets and crumpled receipts and old shopping lists and whatever else they'd been carrying round with them for no good reason, and passing it all to the paper-making housemate to make sure it was suitable before it got torn up and dropped into the tub, while people took turns stirring the slurry with a big wooden stick. it was strangely ritualistic, like presenting an offering to some kind of temple elder for inspection before placing it in a watery shrine to be devoured and reformed. pulp for the pulp god.

A lot of people seem to mix up ‘community’ with ‘friend group’ so when they read ‘no one should be abandoned by the community. No matter what they did’ they think it means ‘you have to be friends with abusers’. When in reality it means ‘no matter what someone does they shouldnt be left to go homeless and be denied financial, housing, medical, etc aid’

You don’t have to be friends with these people, no one is saying that. It’s just saying that you should support rehabilitative justice, support programs that help homeless people, support funding for free medical services, and make sure they don’t turn away anyone who needs help.

Just watched a video of a guy removing a hornets nest from a barn and I got kinda emotional seeing the hornets peaking out from the entrance to the hive and seeing workers flying in and out with food. Literally just existing and being hornets. And then he starts smacking them with a tennis racket and cuts the hive down and puts it in the freezer and it’s like. I know it needed to be removed because they made their nest in a dangerous place. But I was so sad. They were just hanging out man

growing up is just kinda like. oh death is in my peripheral but that's not apart of my world. haha, I can see death out of the corner of my eye, but it's no big deal. if I look DIRECTLY AHEAD it's kind of hard to tell that it's actually right next to me lol. lol
