went to the pharmacy after work and when i came back to my car what i can only assume was the whole kong family had disposed of their banana peels, no doubt intended as an attempt on my life
When #myshane is overstimulated, he takes off all of his clothes. He can’t stand all the fabrics rubbing against him. It started as a chubby toddler when he would get upset and run around the house (ass naked) while Yuna and David chased him around with pajamas. Shanebug be a big boy and let mommy put on this damn onesie an intensely exhausted Yuna would sigh.
As he grew up he obviously stopped doing it around others, but sometimes after a brutal day at school or a bad practice, in the comfort of his own room, Shane would crawl into clean sheets with nothing on and wait for sleep to take him.
He can and does persevere through the urge, of course, because Shane Hollander is an expert at perseverance.
But after he marries Ilya and starts to accept himself a little more…he has fewer issues with letting himself be comfortable.
Which is how Ilya finds his beautiful husband completely naked (except for glasses) sitting on their couch reading a book, a folded pile of clothing abandoned next to him. He filters through several reactions and settles on bewilderment. Shane looks up and smiles sheepishly.
“Sorry, I just couldn’t take all the textures right now.” He shrugged. “You don’t mind right?”
Ilya understands that this is not sexual, and is a big milestone for Shane’s self acceptance journey, so he is forced to ignore the naked elephant in the room and nod his head. He’s half-hard and so, so proud.
Reading a book about royal mistresses in European history and it points out something interesting; that a lot of the royal mistresses that stayed around for years weren’t considered conventionally attractive.
With the reason being that the kings would a lot of times sleep with whatever pretty women they wanted and then move on to the next, but the ones that stuck around did so with the force of their personalities rather than on looks.
I feel like in pop culture the image of a royal mistress is one of a woman who is the sexiest at court in that moment, but it turns out the lasting ones were the ones who were smart, funny, compassionate, good listeners, and good conversationalists. In fact the book points out that a lot of them were basically 24/7 event coordinators with a single client that had to always be ready to set up entertainment for at a moments notice while anticipating whatever mood the king/client might possibly be in at any given moment.
Check out “Sex With Kings” by Eleanor Herman, it’s got a lot of interesting insight into the lives of royal mistresses and the work that went into them getting and keeping that status
can you feel it? they're painting those freckles on him right now
I don't understand why "Adrian doesn't like Grace at first" is as popular as it is on fanfics.
Imagine for a second you are Adrian surname The Eridian. Your spouse has been missing and presumed dead for around a decade, and suddenly one day an alien spaceship comes into orbit. And you cheer "Yay alien species have realized we have the same problem and have come to either give us a solution or join or efforts, too bad my mate is still gone."
Except he is not actually gone, because the eridian equivalent of a carebear decided to save them. And he doesn't want anything in return, in fact he is well aware that he might die A PAINFUL SLOW DEATH, shortly after fighting just to get the love of your life back to you. But it's ok :) because Rocky (yes he gave them a silly name) is my best friend! Oh- Are you ok-
One of the rookies on the Centaurs asking the guys on the team for advice on this girl he's been trying to date. He can't tell if she likes him and is just nervous about taking it to the next level, or if she's trying to let him down easy and he hasn't been able to pick up on it.
He doesn't get much useful advice and soon the guys are arguing about how long you can pursue someone before it starts getting pathetic. Holmberg is at one end of the spectrum at two weeks ("We're rich professional athletes, man, we shouldn't have to try that hard.") and Wyatt Hayes is on the other at three months ("Maybe she likes you but just doesn't want the WAG lifestyle. You need to prove to her that you see her as a person with her own goals separate from yours.")
Then someone notices that Ilya, despite his wealth of experience, hasn't chimed in yet and asks, "What do you think, Cap?"
"Two years."
The entire room goes still.
"What?"
"Two years," Ilya repeats, completely unashamed. "Is not pathetic to go for what you want. Not if you think they're worth it."
In sync, every person in the room turns to look at Shane, who's pretending to fiddle with the laces on his skates, looking pink-faced and vaguely pleased.
Finally, Holmberg turns to the rookie. "Okay, I guess two years is fine if it's Shane Hollander. Is your girl Shane Hollander?"
The poor rookie has no response to that. His girl is, indeed, not literally Shane Hollander.
"Man, gay people move different," LaPointe mutters.
"This is not a gay thing," Troy objects. "This is a Rozanov and Hollander thing."
yes... ha ha ha... yes!
there’s something about this move that neytiri does on her ikran. like she’s just so cool. it captivates me every single time i watch the movie.
He beheld his sister Éowyn as she lay, and he knew her. He stood a moment as a man who is pierced in the midst of a cry by an arrow through the heart; and then his face went deathly white; and a cold fury rose in him, so that all speech failed him for a while.
THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RETURN OF THE KING (2003)
I feel like a good shorthand for a lot of economics arguments is "if you want people to work minimum wage jobs in your city, you need to allow minimum wage apartments for them to live in."
"These jobs are just for teenagers on the weekends." Okay, so you'll use minimum wage services only on the weekends and after school. No McDonald's or Starbucks on your lunch break.
"They can get a roommate." For a one bedroom? A roommate for a one bedroom? Or a studio? Do you have a roommate to get a middle-wage apartment for your middle-wage job? No? Why should they?
"They can live farther from city center and just commute." Are there ways for them to commute that don't equate to that rent? Living in an outer borough might work in NYC, where public transport is a flat rate, but a city in Texas requires a car. Does the money saved in rent equal the money spent on the car loan, the insurance, the gas? Remember, if you want people to take the bus or a bike, the bus needs to be reliable and the bike lanes survivable.
If you want minimum wage workers to be around for you to rely on, then those minimum wage workers need a place to stay.
You either raise the minimum wage, or you drop the rent. There's only so long you can keep rents high and wages low before your workforce leaves for cheaper pastures.
"Nobody wants to work anymore" doesn't hold water if the reason nobody applies is because the commute is impossible at the wage you provide.
They are even better 🌒
