I’ve been seeing way too much coverage of the terrorist rather than of the victims, which isn’t right, so I made this. Went more realistic to get more of a resemblance, and all information is based off what I could find on the internet. Hopefully it’s all accurate, if something isn’t, please tell me.

you posted those pictures of the victims of the May 23, 2014 Isla Vista, CA killings. i was wondering did they have been shot?

George Chen, Weihan "David" Wang, and Cheng Yuan "James" Hong were stabbed at the perpetrator's apartment.Katherine Cooper, Veronika Weiss, and Christopher Michael-Martinez were shot outside of a sorority house (the girls) and a nearby deli (Chris).

Hey, can you please tell me what happened, I've been seeing many posts about a shooting, and I had been away until now, so I' don't really now whats happening. Thank you :)

Elliot Rodger, a disturbed SBCC student with a history of misogynistic and racist online posts, went on a spree killing on Friday, May 23, 2014. He had planned his rampage in advance and had written a 100+ page manifesto detailing his life story and the twisted sense of entitlement that he felt would justify his heinous actions. The first victims were UCSB students George Chen, Weihan "David" Wang, and Cheng Yuan "James" Hong, who were Rodger's roommates. Rodger mentioned in his manifesto that he wanted to kill his roommates and use the apartment to lure more victims back to it. They were stabbed to death.The next target was a UCSB sorority. The perpetrator wanted women to suffer for what he perceived as lifelong rejection. He knocked at the door of the sorority house and after no one answered, began firing at people nearby. Some were wounded, while Katherine Cooper and Veronika Weiss were killed at the scene.He next drove two blocks to a local deli, where his anger escalated to more victims. Christopher Michael-Martinez was fatally shot outside.The perpetrator then drove off, continuing to fire at pedestrians, brandishing his gun, and striking multiple people with his car. He was given chase to by the police, and a shootout ensued where he was wounded at the hip. He then crashed his car after hitting a bicyclist. Realizing he could no longer flee, he shot himself in the head. Thirteen people were wounded that day total, in addition to the six that were killed. (Not including the perpetrator.) The police had a total of twelve different crime scenes to investigate in Isla Vista, CA.My heart goes out to the community and all those effected by this tragedy.

what fucked me up was that when trying to find pictures of the victims, i could only find the caucasian three.

It was harder for me to find pictures of the Asian victims as well. I would have liked finding more, better quality photos of George, David, and James.

Thank you for compiling the pics/names of Elliot's victims. You managed to do something that none of the major news outlets did! They deserve the honor of not just being 'victims', but acknowledged for the people/human beings that they were. Thank you, thank you...

I was actually surprised that I couldn't find anything like it before, but it seemed too important to just wait for it to happen. I'm proud that I was able to do something for them, however small, and am glad the post took off on tumblr.

The comments about how these beautiful young people have touched other people's lives has such a powerful impact on their memory. I really hope bloggers continue to share their stories of George, James, David, Katie, Veronika, and Chris.

I'm sorry to bother you, but I thought all the victims of the shooting were women? Why does tumblr make it seem that only women died?

That is misinformation that I didn't even know was being spread until after I posted. The targets were mostly women, and if you read the killer's manifest you can see how deep his hatred for them went. HOWEVER, the nature of his spree took it's toll on various young lives. At the end, he killed 2 women and 4 men. (Not including himself.) George, James, David, Katie, Veronika, and Chris. I want to repeat their names, may they rest in peace. He wounded 13 others who have largely been unidentified. I wish them the healing they need.
