Hi! Could you help me? I'm not sure if I'm the daughter of Apollo or Ares (not about pjo tho)

I love all types of art, I express myself through art, I try to be calm most of the time, not violent... But I'm a firecracker. My art is always something that people find "wrong" (non-sexual nudity, diverse bodies, "rebellious" themes ig..), It's hard to get me angry about something silly, but I protect those I love tooth and nail, I believe in things that people would find rebellious or wrong, but I'm also more emotional

I haven't opened my asks in *checks watch* uhhh...ages... so I'm sorry if i answer this too late. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by your question..? but I'll try my best to answer.

Although the arts is usually associated with Lord Apollo (or sometimes Lord Dionysius), you don't have to be Apollo-inclined. I myself am quite musically inclined, but I've never felt the urge to associate myself with Him. Additionally, people create art, sing songs, and write poems for their deities all the time, so appreciating the arts isn't a direct link, nor is being rebellious.

Basically, your personality and interests don't need to define your patron (which is what i assume is what you meant by "daughter of"? idk). I think a lot of people choose their patrons with some goal in mind. I chose Ares because I want to be like Him (strong-willed, masculine, passionate), meanwhile, I know people who chose Apollo to help them with their studies and to lean into their artistic interests.

What I'm saying is you don't need to pick a deity based on set concepts, and hell, why pick one when you can have both?

I'm sitting in my break room right now, halfway through my 9 hour shift with 5 hours of sleep :p

Wanted to do a small dedication to one of my patrons deities (will do one for Lord Hermes soon, I just have worshipped and worked with Lord Arês longer and wanted to give him a proper digital prayer). As felt bad cause I haven’t prayed a lot as of late (planning to give a coffee offering tomorrow at least.

Where I've been

I've been lacking post ideas for quite a while now. That, coupled with how busy I've been, caused me to neglect my devotional weekly posts. I have been continuing my worship in private (and the occasional "I LOVE ARES" or "PRAISE [GOD]" in my texts lol).

I've gotten into worshipping Hestia, as I've learnt that She is an important part of helpol, and I'm also considering worshipping Aphrodite and/or Eros aannnd maybe a Hero. On the other hand, I have not been as devoted to Hermes as before, but I do still occasionally pray or just spend time with him when I feel like.

I'm getting new candles today with Hestia, Aphrodite, and Eros in mind, so I might post an update later.

Update: THE CANDLES WERE SO EXPENSIVE. i dont have money for those, so ill be going trinket shopping once i can for them :)

My candle for Lord Ares

I bought my first candle for Lord Ares (and also Lord Hermes :P) today. I never fully considered buying a candle before today, as I was raised Catholic, live in an extremely judgemental household, and my maternal grandparents, who live nearby and visit often, are Catholic.

I was with my friend after school, and she wanted to get a candle as a Christmas gift. Something compelled me to go with her to instead of heading home, and so I went with her.

I had never been inside a Bath and Body Works before today, so I was just looking around, not really having anything in mind. It just so happened that today was the last day of a promotion happening for candles ($13 instead of the usual $30+). I browsed the scents, not really expecting to buy anything but having a really strong urge to get one for each of my patrons.

I spent quite some time by the candle shelves. Picking one out for Lord Hermes was easy enough, 'Tropidelics' (heh) had a nice design that immediately caught my eye, and it smelled very fun and fresh. For Lord Ares, though, it was much harder. I first considered the red and purple coloured candles, but none of the scents appealed to me all that much. Then, I moved on to yellow and black coloured candles, but they didn't smell that appealing either.

The moment I was ready to give up, my friend picked up 'White Barn Cinnamon Spiced Vanilla'. I suddenly remembered a post I read somewhere about Lord Ares and cinnamon, so I asked to smell it. I love the scent of vanilla, and this candle's scent was so relaxing, much like His presence.

That's how I unexpectedly ended up bringing two candles home. My parents (thank goodness), didn't say anything much about my candles, besides reminding me about fire safety.

I caught the flame dancing to the music I was playing when I was working on my laptop and checked back on the candle. The flame went still and straight, as if Lord Ares got embarrassed at being caught. When I was talking to Him, the flame also grew brighter whenever He seemed happy with what I said.

Anyway, YIPPEE YIPPEE I got Lord Ares a candle and He loves it! Sorry for the yap, I couldn't come up with a post idea for this week.

I just had a random thought, it might even be a revelation.

You know the thing about how "my body is a temple"? Temples are where they have altars, altars are where you can give offerings... like food and libations..

So, does that mean if i pour drinks into my mouth and eat food, it could TECHNICALLY count as an offering?
