Ello! I'm RaindropRen! Aka Hermes or Fish or Ren. I use He/Him! and I'm an Artist :D

I'll mostly be here to look at and post MCYT stuff :] (note that the art I post is not gonna be only MCYT,,,)

I am absolutely obsessed with BannerfallSMP and espesically Bfsmp!4cvit, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

other then that tho,I like, Decayed & Decrepit, Lifesteal, ContentSMP, Empires SMP, The Life series(Mostly Double life and Secret life), Unstable universe, and quite a few others on a lesser scale, these are just the ones i'm currently technically into!

Right now i'm mainly watching Bannerfall SMP Streams! Currently I'd say my favorite is 4CVIT :3

I have the mcyt blorbo's in my brain all the time, but the ones that won't leave are PearlescentMoon, Squiddo, and Doctor4t, They're definitely who i consider the favs

I have an MCYT AU that I will(one day) post about alot! Cause it's one of my favorite things <3 (It's mainly centric around the characters I'm really into so right now mostly Squiddo or Pearlescentmoon!) If u ever wanna know literally anything about my AU, please ask! I can and will answer alot. i ramble. lots!

Outside of mcyt, i'm absolutely obsessed with the dcu(mainly Tim drake ngl) and tmnt(mainly Michelangelo) tho those two normally take a back seat to my mc blorbo's, and i have quite a few hyperfixations i go in and out of as i go insane for the 100th time in a week. so ya.

i check tumblr so much and yet am literally never on this account, the rare time i am. uhhh, art. mm. yum. (This will probably change and this will be my main for now on so expect more activity(reblogs mostly))

I'm not a fan of people who intentionally break the boundaries of a content creator, or the rules that they place for depicting them or the characters they play! If i accidentally followed you and you do this! please block me or softblock me, i did not know and would rather not interact in the future.

I'm very uncomfortable with any C!Pearlescentmoon x male character(this does not apply for any of Karns characters, but i haven't seen them in the same minecraft content ever, so it's hard to depict the two in character), If you draw, post, or reblog this content, Please don't follow me, and if I've accidentally followed you, please block or softblock me, it was an accident and i would rather not see the content (note, i do not truly know why it makes me uncomfortable, it just does and i can't really control that)

There's not actually that much but i still wanted to note stuff down, and incase i add stuff for the future, since mcyt is a big part of my life now, i'd rather people be notified before interacting of how i feel on certain subjects

Hey guys did you know I'm in Artfight, I bet not, considering i haven't talked about it... Anyways

I'M IN ARTFIGHT!! I'm competing once again this year and I can't wait for tomorrow!! I'm really late to getting my Artfight Card done but eh!

If you don't know what Artfight is, It's an Art gifting game posed as a Competition between teams! This year there's three teams and I'm on team Mystery!! Mainly because my friend did some really good propaganda in basically going "Rogue Vibes" and my brain going "omg rogue vibes" It's like, all the reason i put my little bannerfall guy in this card aswell even tho i now need to finish their concept image LOL, they're the little pink guy hangin out there. I've been really liking them so,,, lolol

i think in height of recent events in the mcyt community once again, and how many posts i've seen on tumblr about it! I need everyone to look at my pinned post and see the in bold text that basically says

IF YOU INTENTIONALY BREAK THE BOUNDARIES OF A CC! DO NOT INTERACT.

I do not like boundary breakers and i do not care if the boundary is considered "silly" or "stupid" or "put in place out of no where" it is a boundary. these are not our characters, they are the cc's characters.

as an artist who has alot of characters and oc's, the way tumblr especially, treats cc's like they aren't also artists making and playing their oc's, is crazy. These are not our creations, these content creators are not big huge productions. They are artists, individual artists. Just like us. And if i made a character and wanted people to, lets say, not ship them, and people decided to ignore that, and ship them anyways. I would be pissed too. They're allowed to not like that. Hell! They're allowed to change and say that they don't like it anymore!

I have alot of thoughts about this, but the main thing it boils down to is, to be respectful of other people and their creations. You can not like that a cc has a certain boundary, but that doesn't mean you should disregard that boundary and act like it doesn't apply to you.

i think another thing to note that i'm adding as a separate post.

The Boundaries that cc's put in are just rules. We need to stop pretending they aren't rules. They are the rules for depicting their character as a fan.

I do think using the term "Boundary" is misleading, but it's what the FANS wanted them to use for awhile, so they use it. Yes it's not technically the right term, but it's what people wanted them to use. When you nickpick that it's not actually the right term, your just being silly imo. People wanted cc's to use this word! They're doing what the people wanted!

I think for content creation, and especially on the mcyt side of things, A boundary has a different type of definition that basically just means a rule.

And when people act like cc's aren't allowed to have rules, it basically says to me "i don't care what you want! I want this! and i'm more important then you!"

I think there's something to be said about how certain viewers stop thinking of cc's as people, and more as just, things to watch. They stop viewing them as people who have opinions and thoughts and wants and feelings and more as just, another show to watch.

That's not to say every single one of them thinks this way, but it's definitely what it's started to feel like as i see more posts about these types of things.

I’m looking at a lot of this as “two wrongs don’t make a right”.

Deliberately disrespecting a person, even a person who has gone about setting boundaries in a hurtful way, doesn’t help the situation or anyone involved in it.

And neither does harassing people who do so, or reporting the post in question to the person it disrespects. Fans should choose to respect creator boundaries because it’s the decent way to treat human beings, not because someone will “get them” if they don’t. Blocking, unfollowing, ignoring posts, and making DNI announcements like OP’s are all ways to stay away from people who choose to be disrespectful, without being disrespectful yourself.

Ya, I basically agree with this aswell.

I will never agree with people deciding to ignore a cc's boundaries on something, but I'd never personally go and harass them for it or making stuff about it. I unfollow, I block, I ignore, I make it clear that it's not wanted near me, and I try to move on. However I do think there's people who just don't know something is against the boundaries of a cc and probably should be told by someone, but I also think that's a different situation from deliberately knowing and deciding to still go do stuff breaking those boundaries, ofc. I just feel the need to mention it, since I feel like I've seen alot of people act like people notifying them of the breaking of boundaries is on the same level as actual harassment.

No one should be harassed, and I'm sure the cc's making these boundaries agree with that the majority of the time. Alot of the posts I've personally seen about things like this from cc's, have them saying to not harass people about it, and I think that's mostly the right way to go. (Tho I wanna make note because of recent events, I think cc's are allowed to be mad about people breaking their boundaries, Especially when it can effect them or the peoples around them's mental health, or is problematic in some sense, I very much understand that and I think it's why this topic ends up being so important to me. I feel like people act like they're not people who have feelings and aren't allowed to be mad about things they say they're uncomfortable with. Just a personal note mostly)

Hi! So do you understand the difference between JK Rowling, a Billionaire Transphobic Writer and A Twitch Streamer? Can you maybe understand why Someone being a terrible person is different then someone saying "Don't ship my characters".

When I say individual artists, I am meaning people who don't have millions of dollars and use that income to give money to fund transphobia.

I can understand seeing a CC go "Don't make my character trans" and getting abit of the ick, but hey! I'd still say to respect that. It's their character! If you had a trans character and people were making them cis, you'd probably feel uncomfortable with that too, I know i would. At the end of the day, my goal will almost always be to treat people how i would want to be treated. I know i wouldn't want my boundaries broken just because "fans" of the work think they should be allowed too.

Also I think there's something to be said about how people continue to support and make things about JK Rowlings stories when they don't have too. There are so many other stories out there and while i can understand finding enjoyment from her stories, especially before all the insane shit came out about her and from her, i do not understand why people seem to think themselves forced to continue to interact with those stories instead of deciding to find joy and, in this hypothetical, trans characters, somewhere else.

I understand finding headcanons in characters, especially characters from problematic sources, and also the disgust in finding out the person who wrote those sources, is,, uh, well, disgusting. It's hard, but there are other things. Just like there are other cc's that ARE okay with things you want to do.

When it comes to JK Rowling, I think it's better to go on to make your own things, then continue to make things about a story from a absolutely insane transphobe. That doesn't mean i think people making stuff about, stories like Harry Potter are all bad people, Especially when they acknowledge the source material being made by someone awful, tho. I think as long as you aren't supporting the writer in this case, it's mostly fine.

In this case, The MCYT's we watch are not Millionaire or Billionaire writers. They are artists, making stories and Roleplaying with their friends. Just because they make that public and it tends to be part of their job, doesn't mean they're on the same level as fucking JK Rowling. Especially if that MCYT is not Transphobic, If they are, You should stop watching and making things about them. Stop supporting them.

I wouldn't want people doing things to my characters that I'm uncomfortable with, why should we actively break boundaries of content creators who are also people just like you and me. To bring in someone as vile as that is such a low move, it just shows me you had no other valid argument, and even then, it was quick to shut down.

I always saw the MCYT community as such a welcoming space which allows people to be so so creative and open, when a creator sets a boundary, they are always asking nicely, they never do it out of malicious intent. It absolutely sucks to see so many people in the community be so loud for something as simple as respect, and I feel so bad for the creators who are just wanting to have fun with their friends and create stories for others to enjoy. Once again though!! As mentioned above!! If a creator does turn out to be a bad person, just leave!! Stop supporting them!! Sometimes people learn from their mistakes and grow, but if they fail to prove that, just stop interacting and watching their content!! So simple!!!!
