Breaking away from regular UTMV chat coz I had a Thought about vocaloid.
There's an amateurish song going around at the moment called Yumeshipper that people are talking about becoming the "new Chis-A song". This kinda made me wonder what the old Chis-A song was, and now I'm wondering what it means to be the representative 'song' for a certain vocaloid. They seem kind of obvious sometimes, but sometimes not so much.
For Yi Xi it's Butcher Vanity, for Adachi Rei it's Heat abnormal, for Gumi it's Echo or Copycat, for Luka it's Luka Luka Night Fever. These guys are pretty obvious I think. Their representative songs line up with their most popular songs by numbers.
However, I'm not sure if people automatically consider 'The VFlower Song' to be Goodbye Declaration, even though that's her most famous track. Am I wrong about that? Charles comes pretty close and I doubt that'd be considered.
Teto's top-listened song changes all the time, plus she's in a lot of duets. Currently it's Tetoris but I saw someone online claim that the definitive Teto Song was Machine Love, because of its encapsulation of Teto as a character and her journey as a vocaloid. But Machine Love itself is riffing on Song of the Eared Robot. So which is it?
There are also the vocaloids that're less utalised, like Una or Zundamon, who can't rely on their most popular song. I auto-think of Mayo Fried Chicken when I think of Zundamon. Which is cool? But kind of a shame? Because I'm sure there are so many incredible songs that're just less known. Eleanor Forte is a great example. I'm still learning about all of the vocal synths, the only song I know her from is Jamie P's Weathergirl, and I think that might also be her most popular song. So is that "the Eleanor Forte song"?
What about vocaloids that're best known from their duets? Using a pitchloid here but Neru is iconic for Triple Baka. Perhaps the current best solo-Neru song is Flop Era but is it really "the Neru song?" When people think Neru I assume they think Triple Baka. Because they have to, it's Triple Baka, it's a cornerstone of vocaloid history and by far the most famous song she has ever 'featured' in.
All of this leads back to me wondering whether Yumeshipping will become "the Chis-A song". I'm still not familiar with too many of her tracks, so I'm not sure what could be considered an iconic Chis-A utilisation off the top of my head (Missing! by Kareki Kashiwagi is probably the only one I can currently remember, and that one's a duet lmao). Would totally appreciate some recs!

Miku is really hard, you can't narrow it down to one. I'd say Miku (the song), Ievan Polka, PoPiPo and World Is Mine.
