Breaking away from regular UTMV chat coz I had a Thought about vocaloid.
There's an amateurish song going around at the moment called Yumeshipper that people are talking about becoming the "new Chis-A song". This kinda made me wonder what the old Chis-A song was, and now I'm wondering what it means to be the representative 'song' for a certain vocaloid. They seem kind of obvious sometimes, but sometimes not so much.
Like.
For Yi Xi it's Butcher Vanity, for Adachi Rei it's Heat abnormal, for Gumi it's Echo or Copycat, for Luka it's Luka Luka Night Fever. These guys are pretty obvious I think. Their representative songs line up with their most popular songs by numbers.
However, I'm not sure if people automatically consider 'The VFlower Song' to be Goodbye Declaration, even though that's her most famous track. Am I wrong about that? Charles comes pretty close and I doubt that'd be considered.
Teto's top-listened song changes all the time, plus she's in a lot of duets. Currently it's Tetoris but I saw someone online claim that the definitive Teto Song was Machine Love, because of its encapsulation of Teto as a character and her journey as a vocaloid. But Machine Love itself is riffing on Song of the Eared Robot. So which is it?
There are also the vocaloids that're less utalised, like Una or Zundamon, who can't rely on their most popular song. I auto-think of Mayo Fried Chicken when I think of Zundamon. Which is cool? But kind of a shame? Because I'm sure there are so many incredible songs that're just less known. Eleanor Forte is a great example. I'm still learning about all of the vocal synths, the only song I know her from is Jamie P's Weathergirl, and I think that might also be her most popular song. So is that "the Eleanor Forte song"?
What about vocaloids that're best known from their duets? Using a pitchloid here but Neru is iconic for Triple Baka. Perhaps the current best solo-Neru song is Flop Era but is it really "the Neru song?" When people think Neru I assume they think Triple Baka. Because they have to, it's Triple Baka, it's a cornerstone of vocaloid history and by far the most famous song she has ever 'featured' in.
All of this leads back to me wondering whether Yumeshipping will become "the Chis-A song". I'm still not familiar with too many of her tracks, so I'm not sure what could be considered an iconic Chis-A utilisation off the top of my head (Missing! by Kareki Kashiwagi is probably the only one I can currently remember, and that one's a duet lmao). Would totally appreciate some recs!

Ok I fully agree with most of this but I just wanna talk about the short Zundamon bit bc you know me. I think if fried chicken mayonnaise didnât exist âthe Zunda songâ would 100% be Zunda party night. IMO it works better anyways since itâs kinda of more Zundamon as a character than fried chicken mayonnaise is. Also Zundamon I still kinda consider an underrated synth JUST BECAUSE most people kinda just know FCM and thatâs it. And yes, there are so many great and beautiful and underrated Zundamon songs out there. Especially by CaitromenâŠteeheeheehee

ah, the finale to this thing with a song literally released on the last day of June. Poetic, isnât it? Of course I had to put a Caitromen song. Of course it all circles back to Caitromen. Much like everything in my life. Obviously, itâs a Caitromen song. Itâs amazing. I genuinely almost cried listening to it for the first time, and I REALLY like the whole cardboard style sheâs been experimenting with lately (which I believe was discussed in the stream that came with this song) I love the subtle callbacks in the instrumental and the water noises OMG HAVE I EVER YAPPED ABOUT HOE MUCH I LIKE WHEN SONGS MAKES WATER NOISES. This is genuinely so peak beyond belief and always reminds me why I love this producer. The beginning is calmer than the end, which gives the same vibes as the plot progression of Umbral Trip to me. I also totally hear The Seaside Doodles throughout all of this as well. I think this song is about a lot of things, but the main character of this to me has always been Eto. Eto has the whole parents not really respecting his path in life thing going on thatâs in this song. Also just like⊠all the characters⊠on boat. Boat cool. Boat good. I love this song. Not to mention the livestream and merch drop that came with it, I really hope my proxy service worked correctly and Iâll get my merch. I got order confirmation from Caitromen and stuff, itâs all in Tensoâs hands. Canât wait to put it up in my shrine. I do really wish this song had captions, but itâs easy enough to translate the lyrics. The artwork for this really is gorgeous, every character works really well in the style, I particularly love the Unknown Navigators elegance at the front of their arc and the conductor just hanging out and chilling. Caitromen has genuinely never created anything that wasnât a masterpiece and that still astonishes me. When this song was announced I freaked out so hard beyond belief. June was a good month for Caitromen fans. A very good month. Thank you for unironically changing my life Caitromen, Iâll always look up to you. And thank you for reading this and maybe the other posts in this series. Thank you so much

I lowk wasnât super into masakiritanP cuz I wasnât a huge fan of their popular songs UNTIL this came out. A well tuned Itako song is a win in my eyes. Listen to this instrumental and tell me you didnât immediately fall in love. Oh god the guitar in thiisssss>>>>>. If it isnât obvious from the other songs in this series I like guitar solos. Like a loooot. Itâs occurred to me that I donât think a lot of people tend to care less about a song when it doesnât have an animated music video. That sucks man because youâre missing out on a LOT of bangers. I just need Itako to be a more popular synth since sheâs really really grown on me recently. If and when her voice is tuned well she sounds so majestic. Despite his much I love the vocals here, the instrumental is stil definitelyyyyyyy my favorite part. The bass is amazing. The guitar is amazing. The percussion is amazing. The piano is amazing. I really just gotta make a compilation of the best Vocaloid song instrumentals because no song can do an instrumental like a Vocaloid song. So NO I will NOT be listening to normie music. GIVE ME ITAKO OR GIVE ME DEATH. I like the art of this song too, so many clocks :3. Lowk just started this series to make my few followers give support to music I really like. Is it working? yeah not that unpopular Im just forcing all of my followers to go listen to more kitty Zundamon song. Genuinely this song was released for Zundamonâs birthday last year and hiraumi hasnât dropped a song since then which makes me very mad. (If you donât know who hiraumi is theyâre the Zundamon breakfast person) this is pretty different from thier usual style but I donât mind because itâs good. My favorite genre of Zundamon art is art where sheâs just a little stupid cat doing stupid things and lowk this is just that but a song. Just Zundamon going about his day being a little cat and doing stupid things because stupid. I remember last Zunda-day when this came out I was SO hyped. I still fangirl this song, itâs really really catchy and the animation is absolutely to die for. Will you pet Zunda for 11 years straight? Man who needs streetcat am I right we just have cat. I wish I had a cat man. Holy ramble what? Im tired rn. The song itself has some super cute and of course well tuned vocals and a very very peppy instrumental I highly enjoy. I canât believe Hiraumi dropped this after like 2 years and then disappeared again COME BACCCCK TWIN make the cat Zundamon a series of silly songs or dont idc just come back please you were so iconic to the Zundamon community

day 28-let me watch silently
holly molleh how what itâs day 28 I only get to recommend 3 more songs. Letâs just say uhh I purposely saved one for the end if you know me well oh god you know what song it is. But as for TODAYS VOCALOID (this is an UTAU tho) song of the day man we got let me watch silently. Not fully sure what this is about I canât catch most of it but Iâm gonna go off of VIBES. This has the vibes of like a calmish surrealist art piece that I can tell was probably kikuo inspired. You know kikuo inspired songs are easy to spot if you know what youâre listening for. It features Momo too. Im a little biased for Momo because of how much she just means to me but you can admit her voice sounds great here. The instrumental sounds creepy and the voice sounds cute and ougghh I like when songs do that. Idk what to say I like it. Itâs got nice repetition and the synth instruments used were the right choice for creating this calm but unsettling vibe I low-key fw. Also whateverâs the little sound is at the beginning is so cute it catches me off guard even tho I keep rewinding this song on loop. Yes I will let you watch silently if it means I get to listen to this majestic song. Momo song is awesome yet again haha no sheâs my twin tho. Next momo birthday remember to say happy birthday to me because Iâm special.

holy crap I thought I was in for a fun one this lowk turned into a creepy pasta
basicallyyyy Zundamon like dies on a bridge and then haunts the bridge no hear me out in this one. It also features Usagi, Sora, and Metan on the chorus. If Soraâs adorable little spin doesnât convince you to check this song out idk what will sheâs just so cute. Im pretty sure this was realeased for Zunda birthday??? Or at least in the same monthish. Either way itâs so unique. The harmony of the backing vocals is so unbelievably cool and great to listen to, I can see myself just tuning Zundamon out and listening to them, or vice versa. I could see myself just listening to the sound of Zundamonâs voice and the flow of the verses. The whole song just has a great flow. Bc of that Iâd say the vocals are my favorite part, theyâre incredibly well tuned and Iâll totally see myself listening to the producers other songs, looks like they use Sora which is definitely not common. Even if you donât understand Japanese I feel like the plot is easyish to catch onto (even tho I literally just explained it) regardless I still want you to check it out for yourself. If youâre tired of Zundamon songs being a little samey at times I guarantee youâll have fun with this. Either way its a great song with a great story and great sound to it.

day 26-Welcome to the Zunda clinic
wow this song really wins the award for using the most obscure Zundamon voice-his Paravo. If you didnât know that exists I really donât blame you this is the only song I know that uses it. Basically concept is uhhh Doctor Zundamon crappily doctors another Zunda and they play epic video game. Itâs really cute actually, I adore the art. It reminds me of a lot of popular Zundamon songs and I feel like if you liked those youâd like this. I also wish the game they were playing was a real playable game but I donât think it is. Maybe itâs a parody of a different game? Idk it vaguely reminds me of galaga. Itâs somewhat repetitive but I honestly donât mind repetition if what theyâre repeating is good, which is obviously is or else I wouldnât be recommending this. Lowk feel like this doctor Zun and Doctor Kidori would be homies over being goofy nonchalant kinda mediocre doctors. Itâs fast paced, has cute art, and is worth listening to. I feel like I say that for every song but Iâm running out of compliments to give man

day 25-Memory
the first half of this song was pretty cool and I enjoyed it, the second halfâŠomg. I donât wanna spoil it, watch it yourself, but the switch up was so crazy cool that it confidently secured its spot on this list. The entire music video is pretty acid-trippy (just the way I like it) and the vocals absolutely support that chaos. Itâs very dark as well (once again thatâs the way I like it) also it has a pretty obscure Voicevox, Nekotuka-B which is obviously a green flag. I live for people using obscure Voicevoxs because thereâs so many good ones out there no one is using. And like Miku is there too but cmon sheâs Hatsune Miku itâs not really that special. Not that she doesnât fit or anything, Nekotuka is just a bigger deal for me. It has a bit of a percussion break in the key change and whilst itâs hard to pick a favorite part of this song, I do really really like that part. And then with the stuff Nekotuka says after⊠it all comes together quite nicely. This song makes me feel like Iâm going insane along with the main character and I fw that really hard. Any song that gives me the same emotions as the singer like that is a good song in my eyes. It lowk shocks me this doesnât have more views because I know many many people that would love this. Including myself. You might not think it from the wide variety of genres I pick for this series but Iâm actually kinda picky about music sometimes so itâs actually pretty high praise.
