Because I'm sick and tired of people assuming Vocaloid/CeVIO/SynthV "AI" is generative AI just because it has the word "AI" in it: a quick and easy explanation on what vocalsynth "AI" is and why you need to stop freaking out.
Happy Birthday Kaito!
On the final day of Kaito’s birthday, we have the art for Lystrialle’s soft, gentle ballad that gives thanks for all who work to give these songs life. Kaito wouldn’t exist without all of you, and that’s why me and everyone else will always continue to work hard!
Please enjoy.
To those who give songs.

I had the honor of working on "Faithful First Song" with Xue for the Avannaversary project! A lot of great people were on it, so go get it on Bandcamp if you haven’t already!
What DAW do you use and would you consider it easy to use? I want to start composing want something that's not too heavy of a learning curve
I use Cubase right now; it's a total CPU eater, but it's got a lot of handy tools for the composing-minded producer. It is a bit pricey, though, so I usually recommend Mixcraft for beginners since it has an easy-to-understand interface and a lot of decent onboarded instruments (also, Melodyne). Cubase is more powerful overall, but I still go back to Mixcraft even now for certain tasks.
I don't think Cubase is that hard to use (especially if you know your music theory) -- in fact I use it specifically because its UI is very straightforward to work with -- it's just that with high entry price and CPU/RAM consumption, I don't tend to recommend it to beginners until they're ready to commit.
Good luck on your composing!
Who or what are your inspirations when it comes to composing?
I used to be primarily influenced by other Vocaloid composers, but nowadays I've been toeing away from that since I feel like too much of an imitation if I only ever pull from that (in the sense that I think it'd be more fulfilling to bring stuff from outside the sphere into it than to just copy what other people are already doing). Mostly I like listening to BGM from video games I like to study their arrangement style. I like Gust's music most of all.

Super excited to unveil this! Everyone worked hard on it so check it out ✌️
I shared your thread about nfts and was told to not share as it was 'imperialist' as contents implicated japanese are like children who need not japanese and diaspora who are in western countries to tell japanese what things are good and what are bad and implicated japanese have no education or people who can educating so encourages foreigners to lecture japanese as authorities. I do not know if the response was right but am worried so am asking intention
Referring to this thread. No, that was not my intention to imply at all. In fact, I alluded to this a few times, but almost every point about the Japanese viewpoint is a paraphrase of what the Japanese person quoted in the thread directly told me, because prior to talking with me about cultural differences, all of the Western-originating arguments they'd heard did sound incomprehensible to them. They contacted me because they had several concerns, and our discussion had a lot of back-and-forth about why some arguments are less convincing in certain places than others. I also brought up the fact that there's conversely an argument that makes more sense in Japan but won't work as well here: the part about understanding speculation and economic bubbles, which won't hit as well here due to lack of personal connection (the person in question was rather surprised at how poorly the economics are understood on this end, despite us already having been against them for seven months). I’m obviously not implying that we’re more backwards because the average person here can’t wrap their head around speculation as well; it’s just not as personal to us. Certain cultures have had certain experiences and understand them better than others, and this specific lineup of experiences happens to work this way.
The reason I made the thread is that people are already throwing out-of-context "explanations" at very confused Japanese artists without taking context into account. (I even say in the thread that it's better to leave the issue be and say nothing at all than it is to make an argument that's devoid of context.) In such cases, too many people instinctively just bring up "but the environment!" I'm not trying to imply that environmental issues aren't relevant over there, but this incredibly specific connection of crypto to massive energy destruction is not part of the local political discourse, so if you just slap that on Twitter without further context, who's going to understand that, especially in an abridged 280-character tweet that's subject to language barrier? This is especially because several Japanese artists have expressed actual concern over why overseas responses tend to be so violent. So clearly there's a lack of understanding here, and clearly something is not working.
Quite simply, we've had entire bucketloads of discourse over the issue for the last seven months, whereas the industry is only just starting to appear there (and this is acknowledged as a relatively new thing there on this end, too). That's how this specific line of events turned out, and if one community has experienced hell from said industry for the past seven months, it's only natural they should warn another community that's about to get into it without much having been properly explained yet. That happens to be the case in this specific scenario (it may be reversed in some other scenario, and as a Westerner I'd certainly appreciate any tips about potential dangerous things from other communities that have seen hell from them already). This is a complicated scenario to explain in English too, and we probably only understand this much because it’s been seven months of discourse, so oversimplifying it helps nothing.

(Psst: For this episode I definitely recommend my recap of my experience watching every single opening episode of every Digimon TV anime to date, starting at around 34:08. Some pretty fascinating stuff came out of it!)
In a rare moment of fanart: happy 5th anniversary to Appmon! (You should watch it on Crunchyroll if you can.)
This is a redraw of my favorite scene in the series. The context is a bit of a spoiler, so if you want to know what happened, you’ll have to go watch it for yourself 😊

It was a lot of fun!
