trent smiled, he knew that kazu would be down. "i love you, more than i've ever loved anymore, kazu." kissing the top of his head, "of course i actually want to live with you," he took okada's face into his hands, "i want to wake up with you, make breakfast, lunch and dinner with you... i wanna take the same uber to the airport, i want you to remind me to pack for collision. i want it all." kissing him again. "and then some,"

he sat down in the seat next to him, "if we went house shopping, would you want to stay in new york?" taking his partner's hand into his own. "i just ... don't think this is a conversation where you can say, 'whatever you want.' it's a big choice like ... hopefully the rest of our lives kinda choice. you need to have, like, firm opinions on this." kissing his knuckles. "i will always love you as much as possible, and i feel that love you have for me, it's the best feeling ever."

“Do you? All of it?” Okada wonders out loud, the concept of love foreign but not lost. He smiles at the tenderness he gets in turn for Trent’s direct wording that has him smiling lopsided. “But we can, I can make any of those choices I said happen in a blink of an eye.” He says honestly, no reason to lie as they bare themselves so truly. He gives it some thought though, eyes dancing from in front of him before landing back on the other.

“I would like a new home for us and the dogs. I want us to do all that cheesy stuff people do when they are getting a new home even though I will just agree with everything you say—” Okada breathes, and nods his head slowly as he imagines it. “It can be cozy, not too big like your home but it has a big backyard, a pool maybe. A gazebo—” Okada luaghs, shaking himself out of his thoughts as he focuses more on Trent. “Would you like that? It might take time and a lot of work but maybe we can manage it.”

"yeah, i had some leftover steak and chicken and i just ... plopped them on with some cheese and onions, put it in the microwave. the original airfryer." he smiled to himself, even though that statement was absolutely false. he waves off okada's request, "no no, it's okay. i wanted to, uh, do something for you. you're always doing things for me, this isn't nearly as fancy, but... still, made with love."

trent braved the first cheese pull, blowing on the molten hot cheese and stuffing his face, still smiling at his lover. "okay, it's not insanely serious, but, I guess it is. there's a lot of factors at play... do you own your house? i assume not, but, also, we know how much you're making, so.. i have to ask." playing with his cuticles, trying to shake off the crippling anxiety. "i just managed to pay off this house right before the arm injury... it's not as big as yours, or as nice, but I like the exposed brick, the inground pool, the backyard is tiny though.."

he rubbed his face, walking towards okada, putting a hand atop his head. "all this to say. if we were to move in together, what would we do? what would you wanna do, presuming that you do wanna live with me? because i would like that, very much."

It suddenly felt like he was in a business consultation and Trent was the hot worker Okada was hoping to get lucky with after numbers were pushed aside. But he sits and listens the best he can and even more so when food is presented. He is quick to swoop in to test Trent’s microwave cooking skills and while it wasn’t a 3 Michelin star, it was good enough to make him hum and for his eyes to close for a moment because he might have almost burnt his tongue but he is definitely more then happy about it. He only opens them later when he feels a hand on top of his head, making his nose wrinkle before he leans up nice and close as if he didn’t want the other to pull away at all.

“I’ll do whatever you like. We can stay here in your cozy little home and I sell my place. You can move into my place—or we can go house shopping. Make a new home our own. Whatever, I’ll be happy with. I am just surprised you want to actually want to live with me.” He mumbles, as he swallows and peers up at the other. “I wouldn’t want anything else. It’s going to feel like I was younger again, bunking with people I was getting to know except its going to be with you.” Okada reaches out, clean hand to curl around Trent’s midsection. “I’d love to spend every minute I can with you. I’m going to make sure I annoy you as much as possible.” He smiles, before he leans his head back to catch just the edge of Trent’s thumb with his lips. “I want to love you as much as possible.”

trent was a grown fuckin' man, turning 40, he shouldn't be nervous about asking his also grown ass boyfriend to move in with him. yet, here he was, in the middle of the night, preparing a meal(nothing crazy, only some poor man's nachos with leftover chicken and steak.)

they both lived in new york, not far from one another, it made no sense to keep traveling back and forth when all trent wanted was to wake up with the older man in his bed, day after day after day. when he heard the knock on the door, he almost spilled the chopped onions he was cutting up onto a paper plate. His dogs began to bark furiously.

"oh hush, you know who it is, already," he groaned, opening the door, smile immediately growing three times the size. "hi honey," reaching out to wrap his arms around him, giving him a light kiss on the lips. "i made us some nachos if you're hungry?"

“Nachos?” Okada sounds pleased, eyes squinting with sweetness catching Trent as he had, lips chasing after his when he pulls away because something so light was not fair. But he endures and is able to slip inside without much trouble. “You are noisy like your pa—“ He says to the pups, big and loud as they circle him coming inside. He scratches their head and chins before his focus is lost again to Trent as he follows him and the scent trail he left behind him.

“Smells good. If I would’ve known I could have brought something.” Okada mentions loosely, letting himself dip his head to press a soft kiss to Trents temple in passing as he continues to let him work. Okada finds himself pressed into a seat, watching and more than willing to help but to not intrude to get in anybody’s way.

“Will I be hearing your very, very, serious talk after you are done playing housewife?” A grin is on the mans lips, amused as his eyes run over Trent with something anyone can only say is fondness.
