Daryun weighted the thoughts in his head, for the first time finding himself to believe Rajendra even though he would hate to admit that the Sindhurian king for once made a valid point. Albeit Daryun was confident that he new his friend enough to spite an argue, if just to fend off the non-existent snide in Rajendra’s tone.

“Narsus is not the type who needs to be worried. You should worry more about yourself instead.” he says flatly. “He’ll be fine.”

A low grunt was unbidden ripped from his throat when Rajendra apparently brought up the topic of Narsus’ hidden emotions. Truth be told it didn’t surprise Daryun one bit. He’s used to his friend’s blatant lies and shameless claims, but Narsus’ entire being was a lie, what one might say as sly as a fox. At times Daryun thought no one knew Narsus better than he does.

“Narsus speaks what he wishes to be known, otherwise there is no need in asking.” he retorts bluntly, crossing his arms across his chest while leaning his frame against the wall of the building. “You think too much. We’re just friends.”

“Lord Daryun, if Narsus is currently inheriting my personality and body, he’ll kick up a fuss faster than you can charge through the front lines screaming  ‘Yashasuiin’.”

Rajendra knew how much he would freak out if there was ever some form of magical intervention that interrupted his daily routine. Thanks to his calmer disposition for having Narsus’s personality, he can communicate much clearer, save for the fact that there were hidden emotions that he had to keep in check around the Black Knight.

“We have to get to the bottom of this so that I can get my life back to the way it was, and before anyone else in my kingdom is put in danger because of my erratic personality.”

After a handshake from the foreign princes,Han Dang hoped that it will work against the snake,but yet any kinds of strategies won’t work against Hydra.. Slaying it is the only way but it will be nigh-impossible because of lack of manpower,supplies and anything related to it..

“Well i hope the information about the snake god will be useful. it can give a decent blow to it too..”

He may never saw Hydra personal,but he was informed by Xiaoqiao that it was a very very scary snake.. Their current numbers isn’t enough for now.

Farangis wasn’t pleased from what she heard from Rajendra.. yet it made her a little upset when she hears a rumor that Arslan died..

“I will… if he is really dead,then i want to see it in my own eyes.” She went on one of the houses after along with Xiaoqiao and Hayakawa..

After the team had ample rest, Narsus spoke to the generals.

“It seems that the resistance group at Odawara Castle is building a weapon far more powerful than an arbalest to slay the Hydra with. However...”

“It requires the capture of a mystic by the name of Shuten Doji,” his tone was serious, and his lead into the name of the Orochi offshoot suggested that this was their next mission. “I won’t be making the mistake of luring the hydra in at the Kaveri River again, for our regular engineering cannot make the beast so much flinch.”

Gadevi narrowed his eyes remembering that the arbalests had been used to resist his war elephants.

“Shuten Doji is not an easy target either. If you were part of a resistance group split into two, what would you do?”

Rajendra thought carefully, and answered “Liaise with the other group so that we can overpower him with numbers?”

Zhang Liao nodded, “I agree, we can then work out a formation to break into his stronghold and capture him.”

“Not bad...not bad at all,” the sly strategist responded. “But my proposition is a little different. We are placed strategically between Shuten Doji’s hideout, so it makes it easy to flank him. I’ve sent word out to Hanbei to lure him into their formation, and we will act as reinforcements.”

Hayakawa sighed as that she can’t help it on why some people could be this mean.. They are now almost at their rendezvous point,which is at Changsha.. Foreigners can be cruel to other foreigners anyways.. like in their situation right now..

“We made it… safely that is.” She gets off afterwards.. 

Their new main camp after Honnoji was quite safe and a bit filled with villagers and other officers such as Xiaoqiao,Han Dang from Han and Farangis as well,after being saved by the little girl of Wu from a spike trap at Yong’an..

She gives them a warm welcome after a rescue mission.. As for Farangis,it was unexpected to see the brothers from Sindhura..

“Hey hey hey~! .. How’s the rescue thingy going?”

“Sindhudran Princes.. what a pleasant surprise.”

Zhang Liao clasps his hands together to greet his comrades at Changsha. “It went well, and we’ve... got more than what we bargained for.”

He was referring to the two princes that were now absorbed into the resistance army. “Lady Qiao, Master Han Dang, these are the princes of Sindhura.”

Rajendra and Gadevi exchange courteous handshakes with the group.

At the sight of Farangis, Rajendra couldn’t help but to call out to her. “Ahh, Lady Farangis! What a pleasure to see you around here. Send my regards to the Parsian Prince if he’s alive, no? I also hear that Narsus is arriving soon!”

Not before long, the clopping of a horse’s footsteps carried the Parsian strategist towards the meeting point. Like the others, he had to put his grudges against the Sindhurans behind him for now, as the survival of humanity is the first priority.

“Well, well. I trust that the rescue mission has gone well.”

“I’ve also gained the information we need to suppress the hydra. But for now, let’s rest up. It must’ve been a long journey for all of you.”

“I mean, yeah. We could. You’d need to find someone better than me to do write up all their programming, I think. The bots are made with hard light from the looks of it, but they still run on code.” At lease, as far as Lucio could tell they did. “Not sure why you’d want them, though.” He knew that the world being made of peace and love was wishful thinking, but giving any govern- ment something like that seemed questionable to the freedom fighter.

When Rajendra mentioned messing with the city’s slums, the hair on the back of Lucio’s neck stood up. It reminded him of his own home and how he felt when the government tried to change things. When they let Vishkar come in. Almost instantly his body language changed. His arms crossed and he leaned slightly away from the other man, already questioning if he’d even take the rest of the money or rip up the blueprint and return what he’d already been given instead.

“Have you gotten their opinion on it?” He asked, “If you wanna do something like that that’ll change their lives, you gotta ask first. If you just show up and start to change things, you’re going to end up with an up- rising. Get the community together and see how they feel about farming your vertical garden.”

The mayor shrugged. He was unsure of the impact of having such a device on his own city as well. He just wanted to make it look intimidating towards outsiders, and never thought about what having such a device implies. “I don’t know. Do you want some terrorist organization attacking the city and killing innocent civilians?” He also had a few programmers he had in mind who worked in Sindhura Pte. Ltd. that he could use help for in deconstructing the code.

Sensing the discomfort and suggestion of asking the slum residents on what they think, he grew ever more impatient. “I don’t have time to ask everyone everything. They can always be relocated to the residential areas provided by the vertical gardens, and still keep their culture there. It’s not like displacing an entire group of people into some place they won’t like....or I could work with some NGO for the homeless to make arrangements for them.”

But then, his mind shifted into being more money minded again, “Or I could put the building just outside the CBD and demolish an old mall in place of it. I could profit from the rent. But ARGH” he scratched his head, “It doesn’t solve the issue of poverty then and there. How am I to redevelop the slums without disturbing their livelihood?”

“My father tried sending omnic teachers to volunteer there, but you know what happened 30 years ago. So that’s out of the question. There’s a severe shortage of human teachers in Sindhura.” He ranted as he paced back and fourth, completely unaware by the fact that he’s basically opening up a lot of information about how Sindhura worked as a city towards a foreigner. Then again, this Brazilian succeeded in getting what he wanted, so he might still be able to trust him not to spill out vital info. He also has the non-disclosure agreement to use against him should that ever happen.

However, Rajendra’s indecisiveness is his biggest concern at the moment.

Lucio took the money, already thinking about who he could give it to so that it would be put to use helping the most people. He waited until the other man looked the plans over, in case there was any issue. There should not have been, but Lucio was not going to walk away without making sure the man paying him was actually happy with what he got. Seeing the look of confusion on the mayor’s face man Lucio frown and wonder if he actually had messed up.

Looking at the blueprints himself, Lucio saw that he had grabbed the right ones. He gave his employer a puzzled look until the other man spoke. Ah. So the problem was not in the blueprints, but in how they were written. He smiled.

“Depends on what you wanna do. Wanna build it, or build something like it?” He was by no means as much an expert as someone working for Vishkar, but Lucio could do a thing or two with the plans. He was all for helping Rajendra’s people and more than willing to do it at no extra price. “My dad used to be a really smart guy. Taught me a lot of different things. I just used what I learned from him and started tinker- ing with things. I’m not the best at this, but if you tell me what you want, I could help make it. Or rewrite those into something that makes more sense.”

The Sindhuran mayor clawed at his face for being so blindsided by his own ambition, he tapped his foot impatiently, until Lucio gave a suggestion. The rewrite sounded like something he could work with - Rajendra wasn’t planning to blow up the building budget just to get a contractor to direct the construction workers in making them, and he is completely unaware of how altruistic the Brazilian musician is. If he did, he might end up exploiting him. 

“Yeah, translating it into something that makes sense sounds good,” he began. “This part here with the word ‘curfew’ looks like trouble though.” he points to a part of the security bot blueprint that illustrates a sentry mode meant to harass people into going back home at 6 pm. “I wouldn’t want that feature in, but maybe keep its militaristic capabilities.” He is especially worried if any terrorist organisation decides to attack his city airborne or from the sea. 

“Do you also have any suggestions on downsizing the vertical garden building so that it covers roughly 50 hectares? I wouldn’t want to swallow up an entire slum region without easing people into the idea of farming in a vertical garden first.”

The rest of the show had gone smoothly and Lucio was able to replace that drink that had been taken from him several times over. All and all, it had been a good night. The night after, however, had gone somewhat less smoothly.

Though Lucio had been able to get what he had been after, it had been difficult. In the process he had almost been killed. He knocked out many guards, but left them alive. What harm would it do if they identified him? He was already a terrorist in the eyes of Vishkar. It would have been strange for them to have anyone except Lucio meddling around and taking things. Unfortunately, the employees of the corporation were not as keen on letting Lucio live as he was on letting them see another day. He made it out despite their finest efforts, but it left the freedom fighter sore, bruised, and somewhat bloodied.

After a night spent escaping and then using his music and medical skills to recover, then a morning finding something to disguise himself with so that no one would put together Lucio visiting Rajendra after the heist, the disc jockey showed up with the promised goods. He proudly handed them over to the mayor.

“There you go. Sorry it took so long. I would’ve been here last night, but things got kinda complicated.” He tried not to sound too greedy when asking, “I wasn’t hallucinating about that money at the party just being a down-payment, right?”

“You were not.” his short response was followed up with another briefcase, containing the other 50% for completing the mission. He exchanged the briefcase for the blueprints, and unfurled them with excitement.

A panicked pause kicked in. Clearly Vishkar was using a framework and engineering language that he was not familiar with. He was used to receiving formal education from the government, but he was not prepared to deconstruct and modify whatever blueprint was presented towards him, and he was also pessimistic about anyone else in his city who could do the same. He wasn’t ready to hire anyone else outside of Sindhura because he can’t trust the rest of the Indian populace just yet, let alone that of Vishkar.

“How do I even begin? This is like moon language to me.” the statement escaped his lips and he looked towards Lucio for answers. “What did you study, my friend? Did you also have some other form of education that I am not familiar with?”

Through the fuzzy content feeling brought about from being pleasantly drunk, Lucio tried to gauge whether or not he should listen to or believe the rich man’s words. He would have thought he was nothing like such a man, but with fame came money and it was harder every day for Lucio to distance himself from the wealthy folk out there. He tried to do so by his actions, but it seemed Rajendra’s actions were similar to his own. He nodded along, listening.

“Sounds like he would’ve been at home working for Vishkar,” The disc jockey blurted out before his brain told him that that was the worst thing to say. Quickly, he added, “Sorry… didn’t mean it.” In the hopes that his boss would not be too offended.

Reflexively used to such contact at shows or parties or simply while hanging around with his close friends at home, Lucio leaned into the contact. The mayor smelled exotic compared to the people Lucio usually leaned against, something he noted absently as he followed along the conversation. Hearing about a kind father made the Brazilian smile. Lucio’s own father was a kind and hardworking man who would have been such a ruler if he had had anywhere to rule. He could relate to wanting to live up to such standards.

“That’s just a down-payment?” The freedom fighter let out a low whistle as he stared at the money. He could help a lot of friends back home with that. Hell, he could help a lot of people all over the world with more. Getting to make things worse for Vishkar was an added bonus. Mind made up, Lucio leaned forward to attempt to put a legible signature on the contract and produced, at best a scribble that looked kind of like his name. “Alright, fine. Fuck Vishkar; you want their shit, it’s yours. You’ll put it to better use than them anyways!”

“Mhmm” came the hum from the proud Sindhuran. “That’s 50% right there, the other 50% will be yours when you bring back what I want.”

“Also, feel free to insult my brother all you want. I wasn’t able to stand his existence for the whole of my 24 years.”

His resolution was clear, but he was indecisive with what to do with the technology afterwards. He thought about building a vertical garden building to house and wipe out the slum area so that it allows the poor to work as farmers there. But that would also wipe out some of the organic culture that stemmed from those areas: such is the price one has to pay when gentrification occurs. He had also thought about placing the military turrets to surround the city so that it protects his citizens, but how would the Indian government react to the introduction of threatening arms like those at Vishkar? Maybe he should mimic some aspects of Utopaea after all, and have them be hidden underground and around the western edge where it is facing the sea. But what he wanted most of all, was for his own people to prosper, no matter what it takes.

At the acceptance of the contract, Rajendra smiled. “Indeed I will.” He grabbed the copy of the non disclosure agreement and had another printed immediately with some robotic help. 

“Well, I should let you go off for your second set now, shouldn’t I?” he leaned forward from the sofa, hands removed, eyeing the Brazilian. “you have quite a fanbase to entertain tonight.”

It was a relief that his boss for the night felt the same way about Vishkar that Lucio did. Having debates about morality in regards to what he had done to the corporation against what some people thought he corporation was all about– misguided people who say merciful builders looking to impose order instead of the life-ruining control freaks that they were- never ended well for the musician when he was sober. He’d have no chance of being clear or articulate or nice having that discussion drunk.

Lucio’s state of inebriation only served to make him agree more with Rajendra’s words. He had fallen somewhat gracelessly into a chair and then scooted to the edge of the seat as though that would help him hear the words better. Parties, art, all-night binge drinking. Those were all things that Lucio also enjoyed. He gave muttered words of agreement, trying to make his feelings known without interrupting the mayor too much.

Then the man mentioned Lucio working for him as something other than a disc jockey. The Brazilian honestly did not know if he was alright with that thought or not. His brow furrowed as he tried to think through the alcoholic haze he was in.

“I’m not some corporate tool,” He blurted out, “But I wanna help you. I really do. You seem nice and I like nice people. Doesn’t hurt that you’re hot,” He laughed. “What kinda market research do you want?”

The money was enticing. He had plans not to use it on drugs and a good time, but on giving it back to his community. If the people in that community were thankful enough to provide him with drugs and a good time, that was their business.

“Hahahaha I thought you would’ve said that.” With the sleaze that comes with a salesman, Rajendra shifted over towards the drunken man. “You see, I’m not like the rest of those people who walk around being hoity-toity with their suit and ties. I was, dare I say, just like you.” 

Just like how I had to rebel against my older brother to snatch the city’s control for myself. “I had my rebellious streak, typical of being the younger brother. I didn’t believe in the way my older brother wanted to control my fellow Sindhurans. He’s cold, ruthless, and worse of all, a total idiot.”

He slouches backwards, relaxed in composure, and extends an arm over to wrap it around Lucio casually. “My father was very benevolent - many of my citizens mourned his passing, saying that he took good care of them. I can only hope to do the same thing as well. Also, thank you. I do think I’m the better looking son myself.”

It’s quite true: Gadevi did have a sharper nose that gave him a stern expression no matter his mood, whereas Rajendra was smiley. 

“Now, I do need you to infiltrate the Vishkar’s HQ so that you can give me a few blueprints and their patented technologies. I’m looking for one that has vertical gardens and advanced security.” He unlocks the briefcase, revealing the stacks of hundred dollar notes, and a non-disclosure contract that details the mission. “All I need is a signature here, and the downpayment is yours.”

“I’ve just had 2 Overwatch agents say that I’m hot. Beat that, Narsus!”

“My loyal followers are also invited to a party that I’m throwing in the Sindhuran palace! Come one, come all!”
