She was disappointed in him, even if it was one time unprotected that was all it took and the paramedic in her was coming out. Tension or not they had agreed to be each other’s date to the Christmas party weeks ago and hell they were still best friends. Best friends fight just like every other type of relationship. The brunette go all dressed up in her sparkly dress, coming up behind Jaron who was standing in the kitchen. “Hey handsome. I heard you’re looking for a date to the party tonight.” She said before cracking a smile, reaching for his hand. “We’re going to have a good time.”

Simone could not help laughing when she noticed the girl’s shirt on backwards. “That’s why I always try to dress in front of the mirror. Just in case I’m backwards or inside out.”

“I was too tired to walk upstairs. I would’ve noticed eventually but thanks for telling me,” she chuckled as she saw Simone. “Hey I haven’t had a chance to check my email, but did you ever send me your amazon wish list?” She asked with a smile.

Sofia blinked as she got off the elevator to see Rae pulling her shirt over her head, then she grinned. “I changed in the actual elevator once. When shifts start this early, I don’t even blame you.” She had gotten to know Rae a bit since she started working at the hospital, as the other woman was always bringing people in through the emergency doors. “Your tag’s sticking out too,” she said, reaching over to tuck it in.

“I was just too tired to walk all the way up to my apartment.” The brunette admitted with a sigh. Honestly she didn’t care who did or didn’t see her body, it wasn’t something she was overly insecure about. Sure she was as insecure as everyone else but she also wouldn’t hide it. “Thank you.” She said as she gave Sofia a warm smile. She had liked getting to know her since they started working together and running into each other. “Are you working today?”

“Oh god…” Dylan muttered, wringing one of her wrists as she looked at the scrap of paper, recognizing it as the one she’d given Raleigh the day before. Her all too familiar scrawl on it, god she hated her handwriting. She had to read it a couple of times to work out where the mistake was, but once she’d found it the girl felt awful. “I must have…when I was writing it I must have been distracted. It’s 924 not 942. She brought her free hand up to her mouth as if she was going to bite her nails and then remembered what her mother had said ‘Nails complete the look’ she used to get furious when Dylan bit her nails. She put it back at her side and sighed. “Look, it was a mistake, trust me, I’d love to go for a drink with you.” A smile stretched out across her lips as her eyes met the others. “When are you free?”

“It’s fine, I can just change it.” She reassured the blonde as she went to enter in the new number. Mistakes happened and she felt bad for jumping to the conclusion that Dylan hadn’t wanted to give her the number in the first place. “Seriously...it’s okay. Don’t worry about it.” She let out a chuckle as she texted the correct number, ‘hi’ with a winky face while she waited to hear Dylan’s phone go off. “Well I’m glad. I’m free tonight? If you are, or if that’s too soon we could go out this weekend when I’m not on shift. I’m a paramedic at the firehouse.”

“I only say things i know are true. And I’ve seen the proof of that.” Casey said with a smirk, the edge of her lips quirking up slightly. “So you’re welcome.” Her voice held confidence, even though it was a little low. There was no need to yell it considering Rae was currently about a centimeter away from her face anyway. “He’s going to be so perfect, I honestly…well I can’t wait to meet him. Just hold him and see that everything is okay.” The lawyer murmured, eyes flicking down to her friends lips for a split second, mind obviously on something else even as she spoke. There was silence for a second and the brunette didn’t move, waiting to see what was going to happen, and then Raleigh’s lips were on hers, and Casey’s hands were on her hips, kissing her back gently. There was no urgency to what they were doing, but a calm sweetness behind it.  It comforted Casey, even though she knew this couldn’t become a thing again, could it? She could taste the girls strawberry lipgloss, she know it so well because it had been the same one she’d been waring when they first kissed. And Casey had borrowed it so many times as well. 

Rae’s cheeks just flushed, thinking to the time a long time ago that they had been friends with benefits. And then they had just been friends, because Casey had Grayson and soon after Rae had Jake even if it wasn’t for long. Part of Raleigh had been so jealous of Grayson from day one. Casey was so beautiful, so strong, so smart, everything she was attracted to. But it didn’t work out and they stayed friends. So was it selfish? To do this the minute they were both single again? Yes, but Raleigh couldn’t get that feeling out of her chest. Her heart was racing and she felt like she was on an adrenaline high when their eyes met. “I’m sure he can’t wait to meet you, too. Because you’re going to be the best mother.” Part of that was sexy to her, too. Casey didn’t push her off, instead she kissed back. So why did Rae feel like this was wrong. “We can’t,” she murmured, pulling her lips back just far enough to speak. Or shouldn’t would’ve been the more appropriate term. “You’re really vulnerable right now...I don’t want you to think I’m taking advantage of that.” She paused, kissing Casey on more time. “But God you’re so sexy and it’s killing me.”

Asher was just about to shrug on his jacket when he came across a woman struggling with her shirt. In her hurry, she managed to get it backwards. “Yeah, here.” He said, holding his jacket up so she could take it off again to fix it. “You’re good, I don’t think anyone really saw you- it is pretty early.”

“Thank you.” She said with a smile as she took her shirt off to put it back on the right way. “I don’t think so either. I mean except the guy who watches the security footage, I’ve given him a pretty good show some mornings.” Raleigh teased.

Alana encountered the most peculiar people when she walked through the lobby. It must be why it attracted so many tenants. Today’s encounter was with a half dressed brunette. “It depends if you’re trying to showcase your boobs or your back for work.” Alana stood in front of Rae to block their view when she saw a few guys hawking.

“Oh, it’s nothing they haven’t seen before. We’ve all seen tits.” She chuckled as Alana covered her, but she didn’t fight it. “Thanks. I mean I’m used to changing in a firehouse full of men who stare at me so I guess that’s why I’m immune to it.”
