A SMALL LORE DROP (Headcanons) FOR SPYSSASSINATION CLASSROOM (part 1???)
WORLD, TIMELINE AND COUNTRIES: The world is absolutely identical to the human one, except that colors play a huge role in it - for each primary (known) color there is a country (state). The more dominant (primal) the color, the more ancient the state. For example, Black and White States are older than Gray one. The time period of the era is the middle to second half of the 20th century with some futuristic elements.
White State – something between authoritarian and democratic system, mostly patriarchal. The current leader is a certain "Mr. President" (Mr. Shine). Black State - quasi-totalitarian system, patriarchal. The current leader is a certain "Great Chief" (Mr. Void). Gray State – strong democratic system, gender equality. The current leader is a certain "Lady A." (Ms. Argentum).
Almost every state has embassies of other countries (A lot depends on the relations between the states, but most often there are Embassies). The world is in a state close to a Cold War. Around fifteen - twenty years ago (during the Gray Lady's youth), a World War broke out and took a huge number of lives, after which the global "spies" project was founded. THE ROLES AND RULES FOR SPIES:
Spies of this world is a global project aimed at ending wars as humans know it, and instead of the general population, countries use a small amount of talented people who have renounced their past lives voluntarily. First, their deaths or disappearances are staged, and they are injected with a special “spy” serum that alters their bodies and makes them virtually indestructible (that is, spies become practically immortal to physical damage). They are specially trained in military and some other useful affairs, and after officially joining the ranks of spies (though in reality—from the start of their solo missions), their lives turn into a brutal reality show for the humanity—they “fight” against spies from other nations, defending their country’s honor in this arena and entertaining the public and the authorities with their antics.
INTERESTING FACT #1 :
The serum’s effects are reflected in the spies’ bizarre appearances, but its most important property is that it gives spies the ability to freely change their appearance for a short period of time (Including their human appearance from before the serum). INTERESTING FACT #2 : The Gray Lady is one of the few people on whom the serum had a unique effect. She retained the appearance of an ordinary person and remained extremely vulnerable physically, but her appeal in the eyes of others increased many times over. This allowed her to work as a seductive spy for several years, but now she intends to pass the torch to the younger generation.
Popular and strongest spies (sometimes they called as "Super Spies" or "National Spies") have fan clubs, merchandise, and other paraphernalia that promotes them to the masses. The top authorities and the rich invest in their image.
Spies often craft personas based on their strengths, which makes them unique and diverse in their methods of eliminating enemies. In the case of the Gray Trio, the girls have divided their roles among themselves, focusing on their respective strengths, but they can easily substitute for one another if someone is unable to rise to the occasion. (though they don’t really like it)
Spies from different nations are discouraged from contacting one another outside of work to prevent friendships or romantic relationships between them, though this is not prohibited. Nevertheless, if a spy betrays their country or ceases to be effective for the country due to the reasons listed above, they are eliminated.
Spies are prohibited from involving civilians in their direct confrontations or harming them or their property in any way. Therefore, even their explosives have restrictions on their blast radius. If a spy harms a civilian, they face arrest at best and a fine. At worst—elimination. Exceptions are people who interfere with their work themselves (court for both), and criminals whom spies are sometimes ordered to catch.
Ethical rules regarding their colleagues on the other side of the border apply much less to spies. In other words, they can freely break into their enemies’ homes and do whatever they want there. Just as they can with the enemy themselves. (For this reason, the Gray Trio has several locations at its disposal, while the White and Black spies frequently change their place of residence… though, it doesn’t help them.)
There are rules governing spy nicknames. Only current Super Spies (Joke, Dagger and Gray Lady for example) are permitted to use nicknames based on the direct name of their country. Regular spies (including Super Spies’ apprentices) take nicknames based on their unique skills/methods, items colored in their country’s color (for example, “Snowy” in the case of the White Country), or colors/shades close to their country’s color. (For example, as in the case of the Gray Trio)
INTERESTING FACT #3 : Sooner or later, all Super Spies choose successors from among the young people already recruited and trained by their country’s Spy Corps. However, the Gray Lady recruited ideologically committed talents as her apprentices, whom she trained entirely on her own from scratch. The Corps does not prohibit this, but it is simply much harder and more costly for the perpetually busy Super Spies.
