Hello there.

This is a sideblog for all of my Pokémon-centered AUs and shit, because I think it would be nice to keep all my stuff organized. Let's see how long this lasts before I forget this blog exists and go back to posting my shit on main.

I’m most familiar with the anime but I’ve dipped my toes into both the mainline games and the original manga. I'll probably never write much about the other two, though. I only know stuff up to gen 8 and I don't particularly care about ScarVio.

Ouch. I knew Starmie didn't exactly have a strong showing, but I didn't know it was that bad...

I feel like a lot of the Pokémon who aren’t cute or cool looking really get the short end of the stick. Starmie didn’t even get a personality, let alone any wins.

I think that for the Changeling AU, Delia would have a Mew registered under her name as its trainer, complete with a Poké ball she keeps in a dusty closet somewhere, and then after Ash has The Incident and learns everything, she transfers ownership to him.

Semi-silly variant of a Mew-Ash AU where he knows what he is from the start, and he got the idea of transforming into a human to follow his dreams from Delia. Who also did that exact same thing, except her dream was opening a restaurant.

I think the first half of that is an AU that someone else made. Lemme see if I can find it for you.

Today, I was reminded of a... well, the best word for it is probably 'aggravating', time in the world of Pokémon fanfiction.

Once upon a time, on FFNet there were a group of people who would review basically every new story with copy-paste reviews of the same repeated complaints over and over and over.

A point that particularly came up was that they'd "correct" anyone who capitalized a Pokémon name when referring to a species, instead of just when using it as an individual's name.

As you can imagine, most people do this.

And then, of course, people get fed up with this, so another group starts leaving reviews on every new story warning people of the first group.

So the entire community was swamped with reviews that had little-to-nothing productive to say, and the whole thing was just generally demoralizing.

Fun times (sarcasm).

People in the comment section of fanfics should only speak when spoken to.

In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, one of the NPCs is a Herdier who speaks with a Scottish accent.

That leads me to this question:

Do you think a Pokémon with an accent would sound like they're saying their name in that accent to a human?

Probably not. Meowth only pronounces the “Þ” sound when he’s saying his own name.

Slight possibly controversial question like I don't know man I can't be too sure but this is from genuine curiosity. But do people in the pokemon world eat pokemon? If so, what would a vegan diet look like in the pokemon world?

Canonically, yes, they do eat Pokémon. There’s even specific cuts of meat, like Slowpoke tails, that are regarded as delicacies. Check Bulbapedia, there’s probably a more info-dense answer to this question, but the short version is yes.

Also, there was that one time Ash tried to kill and eat a Magikarp. Even Pikachu was in on it.

Thanks for the response! I'll check it out. I do wonder if trainers have a culture of cutting certain pokemon meat from their diet when those pokemon become their partners though. Like if someone catches a Magikarp, they just stop eating Magikarp out of respect for their partners. Like some universal consensus trainers agree to. Would be a neat worldbuilding detail.
