as a life long atla fan, idk if I'm interested enough to see the new movie that just came out...

The animation looks good and all, but I do not like how they kind of gave everyone generic samey looking anime faces. It's especially obvious on Katara and Sokka who originally had inuit/native features.

And I also do not like how they all have new voice actors now. Like I'm sure the new people are fine and did their best but it just feels genuinely too weird for me to not hear the iconic old voices.

I know these are petty nitpicks and all but it seems a lot of other people have the same complaints as I do.

I was personally fine letting Aang and them rest from the story after their own series and the little post-series lore we got in Korra. This feels kind of unneeded and just not that interesting.

Animation does look good and I bet a lot of love went into it by fans of the original series, but I'm not excited for it. If anything, I would have wanted it between the original series and Legend of Korra to be a sort of putting the characters to rest.

Not getting the voice actors feels really bad too, especially how a lot of them still love those characters. I don't know, it feels like a lot of what worked in the original series started getting more lost as they created more projects.

#this all my personal opinion anyway #i like avatar stuff but it gets a lot of grace in some aspects it should get more criticism on
