Fresh Start

Just last week, a businessman ask me if i enjoy what im doing and how was it with moving to new office and all. I told him, it feels like a "fresh start". now i begin to ask myself what do i mean by that.

Well it may seems like everything is new at the new HQ. but nothing is new in what we are doing. Our team have remain focus in our goal, only difference is we are now structuring for expansion with some creative work to be outsource to our trusted partners while keeping an eye for quality output.

At the same time, this so called Fresh Start seems to bring good spirit and motivation to our key team member. so excited for growth.

Steve Jobs once said "to connect the dots, you cant do it while looking forward, the dots is only connected when your look back"

Typically, a large or medium size organization would plan for their 3 years strategy or what ever its called. There is nothing wrong with planning, its just we must remember that challenges and opportunity that comes along the planned years are dynamic thus it is important for an organization to remember while they plan to get from A to B they must also to be prepare to seize opportunity and turn challenges to great opportunity at any time, any circumstances. In short, the best way to manage plans is with "Adaptive Management".

Not everything we plan will turn out right, there is so much variables that will influence our planning, this include, internal or external business politics, legal requirement, competition, change of technology, change of trends or what have you. So often, an organization particularly start ups are required to be constantly aware of its surrounding, being alert and not stuck up to just development is crucial to allow dynamic progression, not just progress based on what you want.

In our experience dealings with brands. we have seen client letting their brands hit walls, they are stuck with how they wish their brand should be viewed and they forgot to listen how their brand is viewed. This create inconsistent messages for the brand as it is not communicating and fail to create engagement. After much insights, analysis and advise. Our client begin to listen, understand and immediately redesign their plans with minor rebranding exercise, this time around they were much dynamic in planning.

During a meetup couple days ago, we briefly analyze the changes and progress. The directors claim that their team are now much focus, sales has increase as sales strategy are now based on the market needs and not merely on want they want to deliver.

Let me introduce to you a dear friend Mr Rob. while im writing this, he dont have a clue that i am writing about him and telling you fella's what an awesome man this guys is.

to add further on linkedIn development in this region : it is unfortunate the penetration and usage of linkedIn in this region is not as great compare to other places. currently, if your thinking to used LinkedIn to capture attention of local audience, i would advise you to think twice, still , linkedIn will be good platfrom to be your ears and insight for data and knowledge gathering as 95% of users are professionals and for business network use. As this has been the case for few of our clients. whatever you do, dont pretend it does not exist.

How to use the Google +1 Button

WIth the recent development of google+ , there is still confusion with where does this new so called in between of facebook and twitter is place in the heart of social media practitioners. whatever it is. we must give google+ some time to prove its worth. to me , google+ is awesome. after much research, i stumble upon an article which i think it worth the read.

WebCamp KK

Last night end the first WebCamp KK organized at Rapidea HQ. The meeting room was fills with developers & Programmers and few photographers & social media practitioners.

Webcamp KK is a monthly organized, FREE and social  meetup/platform for knowledge sharing and social ideation relating to web and social media development. The event welcome bloggers, photographers, techprenuer, trust agents, web designers, web & mobile developers, startups and everyone who is interested to share and learn. Note : its a free and informal event. happen every tuesday first week of the month.

The first webcamp kk was a good networking and learning session on two major topic. next month presentation will include social media marketing and design 101 from start to finish and maybe something about photography.
