Year 14. My first year in a new district, with no friends, new rules, weird looks, first impressions and judgements. My nerves are razor thin, and I’m extremely anxious. Last year was tough, and it nearly broke me, resigning from Hartford was one of the most difficult choices I’ve ever had to make but it was necessary for my growth and mental well-being. The administration in the town of Manchester is excited to have me, and for the first time in my professional career- I feel wanted and acknowledged for my community work. Enough about me. I am beyond excited to get busy and work with the teachers in this building to center instruction around race and help students find their identity and develop their dreams. The excitement and nervousness are creating a storm cloud of ideas and anticipation. Wish me luck, and let’s hope this year’s educational year doesn’t get interrupted 😎🤞🏼#teacher #teacherlife #teachersofinstagram #teacherstyle #teachersfollowteachers #education #educationmatters (at Manchester High School (Connecticut)) https://www.instagram.com/p/CTjzvedLqui/?utm_medium=tumblr
