hiii here's a little thing I made up on canva last night. just some actions i'm taking / tips on how to be safe from bird flu. i got chickens last year after wanting them for as long as i can remember and it has been unfortunately veryyyy stressful haha :,) I'm obviously no professional or an expert by any means, but I still wanted to share things I've been doing for the past ~2+ months. I recommend looking at Michele Forbes, DVM @ drforbeez on TikTok / IG for more information ♥
The focus on handwashing by public health authorities is ridiculous. Yes washing hands is beneficial but this practice has been embedded in our society for decades.
People already know to wash their hands but they don’t know that they should be masking, they think handwashing is enough, because the messaging has not been adequate or accurate. Washing hands won’t stop Covid19.
We know that most of the larger issues we are seeing with illness are caused by airborne pathogens, so washing hands won’t provide much protection. We wouldn’t wash our hands to protect us from smoke right? Or other dangerous airborne toxins? No we wouldn’t.
The focus of public health messaging must shift to focus more heavily on airborne mitigation such as masking, cleaning the air, ventilation and educating the public on the need for, and implementation of these strategies.
The needed shift is already years too late, but it’s better late than never.
The shift has to be now or the compounding damage will eventually become too much for our populations to sustain, and the ramifications will be irreversible and unsurvivable.
Hi.
I missed you.
O-K Tumblr. I'm curious.
Do you wear a mask?
Yes. It's hygienic.
Yes. It's fashionable.
No. I love transmitting diseases.
No. Masks are prohibited in my region.
No. For my health and well-being I can't wear a mask.
Something else not encompassed by another option.
WTF is this?
I’m trying to think of how hxh characters would cope with pandemic life. Like where are the girlies quarantining? Obviously Leorio is on the front lines risking his life every day. I feel like whale island could be a good place to deal with intermittent lock downs, so maybe some of the gang can stay there. The zoldyck’s are pretty much constantly on lock down except when they work either way. Hisoka didn’t know what was happening until people started wearing masks and illumi had to explain it to him. Phantom troupe is definitely cautious but they are still taking jobs since some places are left unattended. Ging is anti-mask and won’t stay home but he reluctantly gets vaccinated. Pariston changes what he does to make whoever he’s with mad. If he’s with someone strict about protocol, he’s anti-mask and anti-vax; if he’s with someone anti-mask and anti-vax, he’s double masked and fighting them about getting vaxxed.
