Koryak has made his peace with being the illegitimate, forgotten prince of Atlantis. Really. But that doesn’t mean that his little sister Andy being officially named heir to the throne doesn’t bring up any baggage.

It doesn’t help when his father decides that Koryak needs to prepare for the official heir-naming ceremony by spending two weeks assisting Garth, of all people. Koryak and Garth can’t stand each other…but maybe they have more in common than they thought. And maybe there’s something more between them than simple dislike.

My contribution to @rarecharacterweekend ! Specifically, the Rare Pairing prompt. Yes, I have finally written the Garth/Koryak I’ve been threatening. Please enjoy the copious Little Mermaid jokes.

Rare Character Weekend

My entry for @rarecharacterweekend. I chose Matt Hagen. (Maybe it’s not a surprise.) From my search there are 15 Matt Hagen tagged fics on AO3 and 166 tagged as Clayface. People are really missing out on his potential imo.

As far as I can find this is only the second Clayface/Dick fic on AO3. I guess I missed out on being a trailblazer, but if you need more Clayface/Dick you should totally check out BearlyWriting’s fic, it’s so good!! (TW Noncon)

Would it be ok to ask what rare characters participants are planning on writing about?

Absolutely okay to ask—however, that’s not something we know!

Participants aren’t assigned characters, nor do folks have to sign up for this; all people have to do is show up during the event with a work that fits a prompt about whatever rare character they like! It’s completely up to whoever decides to participate, what characters they plan on creating for.

If you know anyone who’s participating, you’re welcome to ask them! And we hope you stick around to see all the great rare characters content we hope to receive in May :)

Absolutely! You're welcome to write anything you like, as long as it stars a rare character and fits one of the prompts. Whether that's canon-verse or something like a royalty AU, all is welcome.
