Somebody said a great way to bring Rick back was in the last episode, have somebody off screen put a gun to Daryl’s head during some kind of firefight. Daryl turns and says something along the lines of “that’s the fourth time you put a gun to my head”. Would’ve been cool.

Yep, the third time was in Season 2, “Chupacabra”, if I remember right, when he actually said it: “That’s the third time you’re putting that thing to my head. You gonna pull the trigger or what?”.

But the tone is different already. So yep, that would have been a cool way for them to reunite.
