THE YELLOW DEVIL| INFECTION AU
This isn't exactly part of the comic well, kinda, but not really.
It's mostly here to show who knows about the infection and the current status of the known survivors. Each character will have their own section explaining things like their health, condition, and other important information.
He remains completely unaware of the infection and the chaos it has brought to the outside world. Having spent nearly all of his time indoors, he has had little to no contact with anyone who might have informed him of the growing threat. His days are largely occupied by his own personal pursuits, leaving him isolated from the events unfolding beyond the safety of his home.
His primary focus is self-improvement. Whether through training, study, or personal discipline, he continuously dedicates himself to becoming stronger than he was the day before. This goal has become a central part of his routine, and he approaches it with remarkable determination and consistency.
Outside of his work, he enjoys a peaceful and comfortable life alongside his husband, Fell. Their home provides a stable environment, far removed from the uncertainty and fear experienced by many survivors. The sense of normalcy they share has allowed him to continue living without suspicion that anything unusual is happening beyond his immediate surroundings.
As for his condition, he is completely healthy. There are no signs of infection, illness, injury, or physical decline. He is in excellent shape and maintains both his physical and mental well-being with ease. Free from major worries or burdens, he currently lives a relatively stress-free life, making him one of the few individuals whose daily routine has remained almost entirely untouched by the outbreak.
Fell is just as unaware of the infection as his partner. Unlike Sci, however, he regularly ventures outside, going about his daily routine without the slightest suspicion that anything is wrong. He often visits the local pub, where he can usually be found spending his evenings drinking far more BBQ sauce than any reasonable person should. While many would consider this habit concerning, Fell sees nothing wrong with it and continues to indulge without a second thought.
During his outings, he occasionally hears strange noises echoing through the Underground distant sounds that might cause others to become suspicious or concerned. Yet he pays them little attention, dismissing them as nothing more than the usual ambient noises that have always existed around him. As a result, any warning signs that something may be amiss pass by completely unnoticed.
Physically, Fell remains in good health. While his questionable BBQ sauce addiction is certainly something he should cut back on, it has yet to cause any serious issues. There are no signs of infection, illness, injury, or physical deterioration. He remains strong, active, and perfectly capable of handling himself should the need arise. Mentally, he is equally stable, carrying on with his life without any major worries weighing on him.
For now, Fell is simply enjoying life as he always has. Between his personal interests, his carefree attitude, and the time he spends with his partner, Sci, he has little reason to believe that the world around him is changing. Unaware of the danger lurking beyond his view, he continues to live comfortably, making the most of each day while he still can.
Geno recently received a letter from Ink informing him about the infection and the growing danger surrounding it. Since then, the information has weighed heavily on his mind. While he understands the importance of staying level-headed, the reality of the situation is difficult to ignore. The knowledge that something so dangerous is spreading has left him in a near-constant state of stress, even when he tries his hardest not to dwell on it.
As a result, Geno has become noticeably more irritable than usual. Anyone who tells him to "calm down," "stop worrying," or tries to dismiss his concerns is likely to be met with hostility. It's not that he wants to lash out at others he's simply overwhelmed, and being told that his fears aren't valid only frustrates him further. He knows the risks, he knows what's at stake, and pretending everything is fine isn't something he can bring himself to do.
Despite his anxiety, Geno does his best to keep himself occupied. He actively tries to avoid spiraling into panic by focusing on tasks that need to be done rather than constantly thinking about worst-case scenarios. Even so, there are moments when the pressure threatens to get the better of him, and it's clear that he's walking a fine line between staying composed and completely breaking down under the weight of it all.
Adding to his struggles is Grim, who can occasionally make things more difficult for him. Whether intentionally or unintentionally, Grim has a habit of pushing Geno's patience when he's already stressed. However, despite their occasional clashes, Grim does respect Geno's boundaries when they truly matter, and the two manage to coexist without things escalating too far.
Fortunately, Geno remains completely healthy. There are no signs of infection, illness, injury, or physical decline. His condition is stable, and his body shows no indication that he has been affected by the outbreak. For now, his greatest battle is not against the infection itself, but against the anxiety and fear that come with knowing it exists.
Even while struggling with his own worries, Geno continues to focus on helping the souls whenever he can. Their safety remains one of his highest priorities, and he refuses to let his fears prevent him from doing what he believes is right. Though exhausted and burdened by stress, he continues to push forward, determined to protect others no matter how difficult the situation becomes.
I witness the paths behind you, the road beneath your feet, and the countless futures stretching beyond the horizon.
The past whispers its secrets to me.
The present unfolds before my eyes.
The future trembles with possibilities yet unwritten.
I have watched kingdoms rise and crumble into dust.
I have watched stars burn bright before fading into darkness.
I have watched countless souls take their first breath and their final one.
Now, I see a shadow draped in yellow creeping across the world.
Many shall fall before its grasp.
Many shall struggle against a fate they cannot see.
Many shall meet death long before they are ready.
If death claims all things in the end, is death truly the enemy?
It has existed long before the first soul awakened and shall remain long after the last light fades.
I walk beside every ending and stand beyond every beginning.
And one day, whether by time, fate, or the hands of the Yellow Devil, you too shall become eternal.
What is the place where lost souls gather after their final moments?
What realm lies beyond flesh and bone?
What silent domain welcomes the fallen, where memories linger like fading echoes and the departed are embraced by Death's cold and patient arms?
For those who perish beneath the Yellow Devil's hand shall surely find their way there.
After recently received news from Ink regarding the infection and is now fully aware of the threat spreading across the multiverse. While the information came as a surprise, he understood the seriousness of the situation almost immediately. Unlike some who reacted with panic or denial, Outer chose to approach the news cautiously, taking the time to consider his options and what would be safest moving forward.
Not long after learning about the infection, Paper Crane willingly offered him a place to stay away from the growing danger. The offer initially left Outer somewhat confused, as he hadn't expected such a sudden act of concern. However, after giving it some thought, he accepted. With uncertainty spreading across countless worlds and no clear way of knowing how far the infection might reach, remaining isolated seemed like the wisest choice.
For the time being, Outer has chosen to stay within the vast emptiness of space alongside Paper Crane. Far removed from crowded worlds and potential outbreaks, the stars provide a level of safety and peace that few other places can offer. While he keeps himself informed about the situation whenever possible, he avoids unnecessary risks and limits contact with others unless absolutely necessary.
Despite the circumstances, Outer remains calm and level-headed. The isolation can be lonely at times, but he prefers it over exposing himself or others to unnecessary danger. He spends much of his time observing the stars, keeping watch from afar, and hoping that a solution to the infection can eventually be found.
As of now, Outer is completely healthy. There are no signs of infection, illness, injury, or physical decline. His condition remains stable, and he continues to take every precaution available to ensure it stays that way. Until the situation improves, he has no intention of leaving the safety of space, choosing instead to remain with Paper Crane among the stars where the infection cannot easily reach them.
Paper Crane became aware of the infection through Outer, who shared the information shortly after learning about it from Ink. At first, the news was difficult to process. The idea that a dangerous infection was spreading across the multiverse seemed almost unreal, yet the seriousness in Outer’s voice made it clear that this was not something to be ignored.
After discussing the situation at length, both Paper Crane and Outer came to the same conclusion: remaining away from populated worlds was the safest course of action. Rather than risk exposure or accidentally place themselves in danger, they agreed to stay within the safety of space, where they could observe events from a distance and avoid unnecessary contact with others.
Paper Crane has adapted to this arrangement surprisingly well. While the isolation can feel strange at times, the calm and endless expanse of the stars provides a sense of peace that is difficult to find elsewhere. Having Outer there as company also makes the situation far more manageable, allowing the two to support one another while they wait for news regarding the outbreak.
Though concerned about those affected by the infection, Paper Crane does not allow fear to consume them. Instead, they focus on remaining vigilant, staying informed, and ensuring that neither they nor Outer take unnecessary risks. Their decision to remain in space was not made out of cowardice, but rather out of caution and a desire to avoid becoming another victim of the spreading threat.
As of now, Paper Crane is completely healthy. There are no signs of infection, illness, injury, or physical decline. Both their physical and mental condition remain stable, and they continue to take every precaution necessary to keep it that way. For the foreseeable future, they intend to remain among the stars alongside Outer, watching from afar and hoping for the day when the infection is finally brought to an end.
