Fruity dragon for SMAUGUST

Rearing up on its hind legs, a Kettle Skink blows hot steam at fruit in the trees. This boils and cooks the fruits and leaves until they are tender enough to fall off, and dragon will happily enjoy eating. This dragon evolved from a genetically engineered modern skink and in the span of this experiment, it is unknown how and why it developed this strange adaptation.

2.5 million years into the lizard evolution experiment, a chameleon species has evolved into reef dwelling predators. They now are the size of dogs and use their color changing abilities to hunt prey.

Kaijune Day 28

Minuscule

Reports of a Goliath swarm led members of both the Stewards and Accelerationists to the Californian coast. Instead of multiple giant monsters rising from the sea, hundreds of dog-sized squid-like creatures appeared. Dubbed " Humphrey," these Goliaths are very intelligent and sociable. They possess remarkably strong tentacles, and their bodies seem to be composed of almost 90% muscles. Still, the only harm they've caused thus far has been in self-defense or when cornered. Oh, and tripping small children, they really seem to like that for some reason. They love opening jars and chasing toys, similar to dogs. Many Stewards were followed home by Humphreys, and even a few Accelerationists were seen petting them. Could a Goliath really be trusted in a home like that?

Kaijune Day 22: Astral

“We all heard that story growing up, about the rock that fell to Earth long ago and wiped out the dinosaurs. Well, it seems at least one was launched into space and molded by the cosmos. Comet, as the Stewards call her, is a massive Goliath thought to have once been a Titanosaur, an already massive creature. The Goliath moves like a living balloon, using bioluminescent sails on its throat and back to cut through the dark. A ghastly wisp of a tail trails behind her. She seems to have bloated with lighter-than-air gases and energy, making her only weigh twice as much as a blue whale despite being several times bigger. Comet has been seen drifting through the upper atmosphere but has occasionally dipped down and become an issue for commercial airlines.”

“The waves sent tides of boiling hot blood upon the Japanese shores as islands of dead whales slowly decayed further out at sea. The turtle Goliath, the one we had called Matakame, the one we SAW defeated when its shell and the water cannons on it shattered, returned. The beast opened fire into the harbor and sea, shooting hot blasts of water and cooking everything in its path alive. What demon could have brought this cursed creature back…”
