tell little girls they’re smart. tell them they can do anything they want to do. tell your daughters they can be as brilliant and successful and ambitious as they want to be. tell your relatives, tell the daughters of your friends and your family’s friends. let every little girl know she has the power to change the world. because the message they’re getting from the world is that only boys can be amazing, and girls can just be pretty. it’s impossible to keep them from internalizing it, but don’t let that be the only thing they hear.
