“Are you okay? You seem nervous.” Evie questioned, her tone laced with concern.

“I suppose you’ve got to know your breaking point.” He suggested with a smile. Lucas had eaten them so much in the past that it came naturally to him now. Though, one never did forget the first time an acid pop burnt through their tongue. “And then, it’s smooth sailing.”

“Know my breaking point? Now is that before or after I have a gaping hole in my tongue?” The words slipped from her lips before she had chance to stop them causing a red tinge to cover her cheeks. “I mean how do I know what that is?”

“Well you don’t let it get that far,” he laughed lightly, “there’s a trick to them.”

“And how does one learn the trick to them?”

“Crap- Sorry, sorry.. I get over excited really easily.” CJ spoke, lips quirking to the side as he then combed a hand back through his hair. 

“I don’t think they heard half of what you said, I’m afraid. They might be a lost cause.” Evie bit her lip as she stared at the stranger who looked half dazed before turning back to him. “What exactly has you so excited?”

“What do you mean you’ve never tasted an acid pop?” He said, turning around to meet the other’s gaze. “They’re the best.”

“Well I always liked my tongue being fully intact and not having a hole burnt through.”

“When you yell at someone it just makes them not listen.” Evie pointed out after they’d finished shouting.
