“Ehhh, I’m not too sure myself! I mean, I only tend to ask if we’re gonna eat something that might be against it, but otherwise? I don’t tend to pay much notice to it.” Especially seeing it didn’t affect their relationship or offend Hiroshi in any way. It just didn’t seem to be the biggest thing about them to him. “I’ll be sure to ask next time I talk to them, though. I know it has dragons involved somewhere…”
“...It’s not that important.” Though it did intrigue her greatly, prodding into one’s personal business was certainly not at the top of her priority list, especially someone who she had yet to meet in person. But then again, it was awfully tempting..
“But if you happen to remember, I would certainly be interested..”
uratanu:
“Yeah, I suppose basking in the summer air would be quite nice on a night.” It still meant no blankets to be snuggly with without the sweat and clagginess. “My partners definitely like the moonlight, except for my actual partner partner. Their religion sort of doesn’t see the Moon in a positive light, unfortunately…”
“Oh--? Which religion?” This was rather peculiar. Never before had she heard of a religion that outright detested the moon of all things. Usually, it was seen as wondrous, beautiful & romantic. And it was irony, along with her and her pokemons’ kinship with the moon that piqued her interest.
uratanu:
“That is true, but you still get to be nice and warm!” He chuckles and wraps his arms around himself in some sort of blanket gesture. “And lots of warm drinks too!”
“I prefer to bask in the night air,” she replied candidly. “As for my partners, they seem to have an affinity for moonlight.”
uratanu:
“Eh, I prefer Winter nights, personally. Getting all snuggly up in a bed is the best.”
“But you can only glimpse at the moon and the stars before you start to freeze.”
“Summer nights ... mmmm....”

Casually pops a pringle in her mouth. It seems Karen has another case of the munchies!
Will & Karen
psychicmasterwill:
This quickly caught the psychic’s attention. “A reunion, eh?” he asked, smiling as he noticed her pull out one of her pokeballs, no doubt the one holding her Umbreon.
Will returned the gesture in kind, snapping his fingers as a pokeball appeared suddenly, hovering above his outstretched hand. He could have just reached into his pocket to take it out, but where was the fun in that?
“I like the way you think. On the count of three then, my dear?~”
“Of course~” Karen grinned, her grip on the crimson orb tightening ever so slightly with anticipation. She felt like a child on Christmas morning again, the pokeball being the colorful wrapping paper enshrouding the present.
Like she was in her youth, the elite was unsure how much longer she could contain her excitement. Old habits seemed to die hard, didn’t they? And so she took the honors of starting the countoff.
“One--”
Tabitha & Karen
seizetheland:
M – Tabby cat. Yep. There it was. If there wasn’t already enough proof of Clair’s influence, that was it– unless there was something about him that drew others to call him this. His smile never died down, shoulders shifted with an off-guard giggle. “That’s all you wanna know?” He shrugged, “Guess it comes natural, I don’t know. Wasn’t aware I was. Heheh.” He added a wink for emphasis, since she seemed so inclined on playing copy-cat. He could dig that. Tabitha blinked and rose his brows. So she traveled pretty often, huh? “Kalos, never been. What’s it like? Is everything as froofy and high class as they say?” Fluffy collars, real fur, silk pants, fancy over-priced cafes? As for Clair, figured she’d be kept up there. Being a gym leader has to be exhausting, probably not much free time. Even with him being the workaholic he was– that sounded like to much work.
“Oh--? Should I have asked for more?” A wink followed suit, and she reached a hand through her fluent waves of silvery-blue hair, flaunting each gorgeous lock like she owned it (and she did). Karen could be be playful, too, and she was more than willing to with a man like Tabitha. “I guess I wouldn't want to bite off more than I can chew~”
Eyelids closed momentarily, veiling her silvery hues as she hummed low yet musical tones that if extended would cadence into a humoresque. The dark master recalled her travels, how luxurious and pampering she felt during those mere months. Pampering was more than just bathing in the hot springs of Lavaridge Town, and luxurious meant more than the expensive coffees and hotels she had payed for in Laverre City; it was meeting new people, learning about new pokemon and places. She loved it.
“More or less. But the sightseeing was more than I could have ever wished for. I didn’t mind the tourists.”
Hiroshi & Karen
uratanu:
“Oh, uh, alright then…” Well, that wasn’t something he was expecting. He went to speak again before quickly shutting up, arms behind his back as he looked down at the ground. What was with that little snap? Did he do something wrong? He wasn’t sure, but he definitely hoped she would tell him instead of just leaving it at that. “Sorry.”
“Ah, thanks! A lot of people tell me that, but I think I have a lot to learn still.” Of course, practice makes perfect with these sorts of things, and he wasn’t going to stop anytime soon. The fact someone thought he was doing a good job thought was really reassuring to him. “I wouldn’t mind any tips if you have any!” Maybe the double entendre things would be good to brush upon…
“I really hope my parents don’t influence me much then.” He didn’t want to be like his parents. They were close-minded and careless, being able to fix everything with a bit of money. It was a type of lifestyle that Hiroshi had grown to despise, and that wouldn’t change anytime soon. However when she mentioned how it was a loose term, he nodded. “Yeah. They were Dark Type fans too, I guess, but that’s probably the only thing I have in common with them. At least, I hope that’s it.”
“Sorry---?” A pause, as this simple utterance singlehandedly doused her with bemusement. Karen wondered, did she come off as rude? Her furthest intention was to portray herself as some sort of caustic rogue. Perhaps she should have chosen her words more carefully.
But then again, this was her personality-- she was oftentimes cutthroat, rough around the edges, even in the presence of people she knew posed no threat-- a vicious, unforgiving dark-master by nature. “There is no need to be sorry,” she insisted, lips reaching to her cheeks.
“Tips? Hmm...” Karen wasn’t the teaching type, being the younger sister in her now detached family. She was always the underling. Even with her elite status, Karen never mentored a student. Nonetheless, the woman tried to cook up something that might actually benefit Hiroshi rather than employ as some sort of lame cop-out. “Maybe stick to words you know work with what you’re trying to say. A lot of times people misinterpret connotations. I admit, I’m guilty of this myself.”
“You and I have a lot in common,” she spoke calmly, each word seasoned appropriately with mystique. They shared an affinity for dark-type pokemon, they were both passionate about their line of work, and now, it appears they have both at one point fallen victim to unfit parents. But there was one difference that stood out between Hiroshi and Karen; “My mother and father hated dark-type pokemon.” Admittedly, Karen wondered what her parents would have thought had they known she trained them. She could only imagine their disgust with her.
// New theme update that I managed to design myself-- which is still wow to me?? because of my inept ability to code. And I have to admit, I never thought I would be making a contained theme because I usually don’t like them! XD
Hiroshi & Karen
uratanu:
“O-Oh, uh, I wouldn’t really say I’m a charmer, really…” He gave a bashful laugh and he gently kicked at the ground, making sure to not look away from other as a sign of respect. Even if it did make him uneasy, it was better to overcome it instead of letting it take over and possible offending the newly found acquaintance.
“Y-Yes, That’s what I meant. Sorry, English is still something I’m getting my head around.” Another nervous laugh left his mouth as he kept himself properly standing, not wanting to slouch in fear of looking lazy or sloppy. He wouldn’t tolerate that around her, especially considering the possibile debates they could have over Dark Types! Just the idea of said debate made him ecstatic internally, even if it didn’t show in his expression.
“Ah, really? I thought it would have been a surprise for me to like Dark Types; I mean, that’s what most people say to me, anyway…” Either because of his joyous personality or his simple choice in style and clothing, it was a slew of reasons, but he didn’t think about it too much. All the more surprise for some people when they find out! “I guess I am quite passionate about it. Though, when you grow up with a dad who works with something that interests you, it’s kind of hard to not become passionate, y'know?”
“Take it or leave it,” she murmurs softly, hues cutting sharply through her much gentler tone. Nervousness reeked in the air whether Hiroshi was trying to swathe it with his mannerisms or not. Karen was the type of woman to sniff out these types of secluded uncertainties, like a police dog seeking a criminal. And in her mind, she still hoped he would soon overcome these feelings.
A perplexed look overcame the dark master upon hearing from Hiroshi that English was not his first language. “You speak pretty well for it not being your native tongue-- better than most kids who grew up speaking it.” Despite the little mix up, the gentleman was fairly good at speaking English, or so Karen thought-- and it should'nt be the culprit of any loss of sleep at night.
“We dark-type trainers have a knack for telling who raises them and who doesn’t,” Karen chuckled dryly, hand resting beneath her chin in amusement. “You know, you would be surprised how much your parents can influence your decisions," she mentions, "and I use the term ‘influence’ loosely.”
“I will not stray from my chosen path.”
// Nghhgl I need a new theme, but I don’t have any idea how to make one and I’m terrible at coding. Anyhow, I hope to be back on here again very soon.
