Besides, you’ve gone through all that trouble … ( — shakes her head adamantly ) But we’re celebrating my birthday right now ! That’s hardly fair- …should I send for a catalog from Quality Quidditch Supply? ( ` thinks for a second, making a mental note to send a school owl for it as soon as she got back ) Oh stop it ! ( ` giggles, slapping his upper arm lightly ) You have to quit being so cheesy, oppa. It’s not very attractive… ( ` picking at a stray strand from his sweater, pouting ) Hmmm…. ( ` hums tiredly, pushing her fore head on his shoulder as she closed her eyes ) What are you planning on doing later, oppa? I’m sleeeeeeepy ~ ( ` opens one eye at him, biting her inner cheek )

(-- shrugs, secretly thinking 'i honestly don't give a damn' but not saying anything) which is a good thing. and it shows that i can cook if i have throngs of house elves watching my every move. (-- laughs) why yes we are. so shouldn't we focus on your birthday instead of talking about mine? (-- shakes his head) you really don't need to. i really do have everything i want and need. (-- smiles and then fakes a gasp) being cheesy isn't attractive? fine. (-- puts on his serious face, the one he's perfected after acting that way for years, his 'ice prince' facade if you will) if you'd rather have me act like i hate the world then so be it. (-- a slight pout appears on his lips) if you don't want me to act like a loving boyfriend ... (-- tilts his head to the side as he thinks) later? hm, i'll probably go for a midnight flight or something. (-- chuckles) did you stay up late sketching again? (-- reaches out to tuck the strand of hair that was in her face behind her ear)

(  ` starts to whine with aegyo, shaking her shoulders at him ) Oppa ~ ( ` giggles ) You really shouldn’t be cooking, baby …although I’m sure you look attractive enough using an apron and trying to figure your way around the kitchen ( ` smiles brightly ) Noooo I would still like your cake better than a cake from some store. ( ` shakes head with a small pout on her face ) Okaaay, I get it. You’re being too sweet about this anyway ( ` nudges back, giggling ) But what are we doing for your birthday, oppa? ( ` looks at him as she takes another mouthful of her cake ) What do you want for your birthday, hm? I should bake you a cake ! And get you presents ….do you need a new broom? ( ` blinks up at him innocently, thinking a little ) Hm- ( ` loops her arm around his, resting her chin on his shoulder ) What present do you waaaaaant? ( ` bats her eyelashes at him )

i can cook, i swear. (-- makes a face) or i can try. my mother ... (-- pauses, wondering if he should continue the sentence // swallows and continues anyway, his throat feeling dry suddenly) she er, sorta taught me how to make some dishes. but this is the first time i've ever baked. (-- chuckles sheepishly, his hand raising to scratch at the back of his neck) so you do like it! aha! (-- grins happily like a little schoolboy impressing his crush) what are you talking about? (-- tilts his head) we don't need to celebrate my birthday. really. (-- scrunches up his nose at the thought of his birthday coming up and at all the gift suggestions she's throwing at him) i don't want anything really ... (-- trails off to give off the guise of thinking before turning and lightly pressing his lips to her cheek) because i already have everything i need when i'm with you. (-- smiles, proud of himself)

I thought you were gonna eat some- ( ` grumbles as she pouts, looking at the fork headed towards her ) Okaaay ~ If you insist on treating me like a child- ( ` opens her mouth and eats the piece of cake ) Mhm! ( ` eyes opening wide to look at him, flashing him a thumbs up ) It’s good oppa ! …a little too sweet- but it’s still really, really good ! ( ` smiles brightly ) I can’t believe you baked a cake for me… ( ` scrunches nose ) You must’ve made a mess earlier, didn’t you? …made the house elves clean up after you? ( ` shakes head teasingly ) All to make me happy- …you don’t have to go to great lengths to do that, you know. All you have to do is show up- ( ` giggles, taking another fork and broke off another piece to put in her mouth )

even if we're the same age, you're still a child to me. (-- taps her gently on the nose and chuckles) too sweet? (-- blinks in surprise) i thought it wouldn't be sweet enough. (-- shakes his head) definitely should've listened to the house elves. (-- sighs but takes a forkful and eat it himself, chewing thoughtfully and letting the flavor wash over his taste buds) mm, i think it's okay. definitely would've been better if i just bought a cake but i wanted to make it special for you. (-- shrugs) shh, no one needs to know that! and i did help them clean up. (-- pouts) well, i didn't want to just make you feel happy. (-- sticks his tongue out) if i just wanted to make you happy, i would've just shown up. (-- nudges her easily) but i wanted to make it special. your first birthday that we spent together. it's supposed to be sentimental naeun-ah.

Only if you eat it with me? ( ` tilts her head to the side, grabs one of his hands to drag him to sit next to her in front of the cake ) Did you really? ( ` looks at him in pleasant surprise ) It looks great! Uwaa~ 우리 명수는 다 찰해~ ( ` gives him a quick kiss on the cheek ) It’s okay~ I’m sure it’ll taste delicious …I’ll eat anything you’ll cook me~ ( ` grins brightly at him ) Besides, I’m not that great of a cook either ! I’ve never really cooked a day in my life before… ( ` trails off, a little embarrassed ) My mother told me that I’ll have to learn to be a good housewife but- …she thought that I’ll get housekeepers and chefs later when I get married anyway and I wont need to- ( ` frowns ) Although I do want to cook for my husband… ( ` trails off, glancing up at him before laughing awkwardly ) Anyway- eat some~ There’s no way I’ll finish everything- ( ` takes a sip of the coffee )

(-- nods) of course.(-- follows her and sits down where she indicated) i hope so? it tasted fine to me, but you know i don't really like sweets so i was sort of afraid that it wouldn't be sweet enough for you. (-- stops himself from saying anything else since he's sort of nervous) my mother... (-- pauses in thought as he internally debates if he wanted to go into the topic of his parents) ... taught me how to cook some simple dishes, so i could survive if i was ever left alone. (-- scoffs but changes the topic) but i've never baked before? (-- chuckles) well, i guess we could learn to cook together, then. (-- smiles and takes a fork and breaking off a piece of the cake and holding it out for her) say ah, love. (-- puts his hand slightly underneath the cake so if it fell it wouldn't make a mess) aah~ (-- positions it near her mouth and raises his eyebrows expectantly)

Oooooh~ ( ` claps hands excitedly ) Can I stop calling you ‘oppa’ then? For a few days? ( ` grins brightly ) … ( ` hesitates for a second ) Myungsoo-yah~ ( ` says teasingly, leaning forward so that her face would be right in front of his ) You’re too sweet- ( ` still blushing profusely, she is cut off by his singing. starting to sway her head to the sound of his voice, a small, shy smile on her pink face ) Uwaaa ~ ( ` claps enthusiastically as he finishes, jumping up from her chair to leap towards him in a hug ) Best birthday present ever~ ( ` says into the side of his face, giggling )

(-- frowns at her calling him his name as he's used to 'oppa' from her but doesn't do anything about it as he sings a song for her, and ending it with "happy belated birthday" and putting his guitar down) i'm glad you liked it, love. (-- wraps his arms around her and buries his face in her hair, smiling) happy belated birthday again. (-- pulls away from the hug to give her a quick kiss on the lips) you should eat the cake and drink your coffee. (-- flashes her a quick smile) i -- i actually made the cake. with the house elves' help of course, but .. yeah. (-- trails off bashfully) i hope you like it? i tested it to make sure it was edible of course, and they guided me through everything and -- (-- cuts himself off) i'm rambling. (-- sheepish look)

( ` nods ) 응~ ( ` opens eyes and smiles brightly, eyes lighting up as a small gasp escapes her lips ) Oppa… ( ` looks up at him, eyes curving into two crescent moons ) It’s fine- I knew you had a lot of things to do and- …I don’t mind, really. It’s cos- ( ` sits down on the chair he lead her to, eyes widening in anticipation ) You really prepared, haven’t you? ( ` giggles in embarrassment, cheeks immediately flaming pink ) I hope you didn’t go out of your way for this… I don’t want to be a bother-

i know, but .. (-- pauses and takes a breath, showing his sincerity as he can easily be cheesy but having to actually be cheesy and not be teasing is hard for him) i wanted to celebrate it anyway. (-- smiles) we're the same age for another couple days. (-- nods) of course i did. nothing's a burden if it's for you. don't worry, love. (-- leans forward and kisses her before starting to strum and singing)

( ` huffs in playful anger ) Oppaaaa ~ ( ` feels his hands cover her eyes from behind her, her heart rate picking up in excitement ) Where are we?

somewhere special. (-- smiles and maneuvers her safely into the kitchens, indicating to the house elves to do what he had instructed them to do) ready? (-- uncovers her eyes to unveil a cake with the words 'happy belated birthday' on it with a cup of steaming coffee next to it) i'm sorry i wasn't here for you birthday, love. (-- smiles softly and leads her to the seat, pulling out his guitar case which was hidden under his chair and taking his guitar out)
