People should start drawing horror more, not particularly because i like the genre, but because it reveals a surprising amount about you if you pay attention

I draw eldritch stuff, to me it falls into the category of eldritch horror, and I've noticed a pattern of my horrors being mostly dozens and dozens of eyes watching and staring... on further inspection, yeah, I can say that I have some form of scopophobia, and whatever phobia it is to have excessive attention on you (probably also plays into my performance anxiety, too)

I'm not sure if this just applies to eldritch horror or if it extends to horror in general, though

The funny thing about being a system that switches without dissociation (or at least noticable dissociation) is that it makes for either the meanest whiplash or you won't be able to identify a switch until like, half a month later

Like. Usually when we switch we compare it to a waterpark with those slides that put you into a capsule and throw you into the slide via trapdoor. Deadass we are being slaps stick trapdoor'd out of the headspace that's so funny actually (voice of woman who just realized the implications)

(One time we were doing dishes and switched like this midway and we had to stop to regain our bearings because. What the fuck! Lmao)

And then there's the "jumpscare switch" where we think everything is fine and we're still the same alter in the front and then suddenly we realize we've been 160% more chatty for the past week and go "shit it's been Genwel hours for a while now huh?" because she's arguably the externally loudest between all of us because she sings and repeats lines of dialouge as vocal stims

Tumblr offered me to scroll through gabriel's tag and i found this blog through that, anyway hello we are new to the ultrakill fandom (less than 2 weeks in i believe?) And we are curious as to if you have any interesting thoughts to chew on? Or just opinions in general we are not picky

okay so what i will say is partly dependent on whether or not you've played the game and for this i'm going to assume you have and are new (no offense!!). this first segment is rambling about ULTRAKILL as a game. if you dont want mild spoilers or dont play it then feel free to ignore

if you're struggling on bosses, make sure you have every available weapon as of where you are in the layers.

if you've got around to Violence, THE JACKHAMMER WILL SAVE YOU. on EVERYTHING. im not even jk it's one of the best weapons imo.

you can do ultraricoshots with the alt revolvers' alt fire, not just the electric railcanon. good way to get style without wasting railcanons

practise in cybergrind!!! you'll get loads of points for new weapons and it's just good for refining gameplay. i glaze CG so hard btw sorry

if youre gonna check a wiki for HELP, check the wiki.gg one and NOT the fandom one. i hate the fandom one with a passion.

you can import your own music and patterns into CG! go to steam, right click ultrakill, click 'browse local files', then go to the CG folder and drag your files into their respective folders. i recommend your music files be MP3s.

okay i'll update that later if i feel like it. now for the fandom...

the ultrakill fandom is generally very welcoming, BUT is incredibly hostile to those who play on lenient and harmless difficulty. it's very toxic and the fandom can get overly competitive at times.

the fandom - and Hakita himself - is fairly pro-piracy. this might be a moral issue to some but since i am also pro-piracy (wow top ten things to say on the internet), i see this as a win

the modding community is flourishing! very talented.

there is a very big issue with sexualising trans people. which is extra weird, since one of the devs is also trans. this is best seen in gabriel and the mindflayers - bearing in mind that the mindflayers are modeled after trans women. yeeeeeeeesh

you may also notice that people are very strange to sisyphus. he is the only POC in the story (that we know of/of significance) and is less conventionally attractive, so he's not treated with the same reverence as minos or gabriel.

a personal pet peeve of mine is that if you're looking for ultrakill OCs, 90% of them are just the archangels but with different helmets or V1 with more spikes and different colours. there is VERY LITTLE variation. not putting this one in bold since it matters considerably less

a few things i think the fandom needs to think about more, too:

SISYPHUS IS NOT AN ANGRY WARLORD. i cannot overstate this enough. he wanted freedom for the people of greed, and once he realised that dream wasn't going to happen, he opted to waste heaven's time and resources as much as possible. he is not overly violent or vicious.

GABRIEL IS NOT A SADBOY TWINK, as i said in a previous post

sexualising trans people, irrelevant of whether or not you are trans yourself, is fucking weird. using "oh i'm trans too" as a defence is just as weird.

I really do wish Persona 5 X ran as a parallel storyline to base P5 instead of being an alternate timeline

I'm playing through the prolouge again because i was previously on a guest account (and miku is on and i want to see how that diva throws hands) and the exposition dump Lufel gives is... honestly a really interesting take on P5's ideas

I'm mostly referring to the thing about desires, where P5 puts emphasis on the desires that make people believe they're entitled to trample over others (i.e. greed, pride, vanity) P5X puts more emphasis on the good desires; the essential ones (hope, resolve, rebellion)

("It's easy to forget that 'desire' can mean more than greed or lust; it also fuels the will to live")

Admittedly, I haven't played P5 yet and I'm barely into 5X, so this should be taken with a salt shaker on hand, but I just think the themes would be more poignant if it wasn't sitting under the shadow of a blatant Persona 5 cash grab ploy and instead enriched the story of P5 further... though admittedly i'd have liked this to be not as associated with P5 in general, since i feel like the original gane kinda ends up coloring all the shadows, if that makes sense.

Edit: I'd like to make note that I do like this game, it holds a special place in my heart and Lufel is my beloved owl-thing, but it's because of that that I'm upset over the game being a "can i copy your homework" meme of P5

There's a lot of interesting themes and questions the game poses, and I don't mind a gacha system in the slightest, but a lot of the story is being actively kicked in the shins because it tries to be another Persona 5 when that is not what it should be

It can be Similar, it can exist in the same universe, but it can't BE Persona 5.

I'm only saying this for your sake, but objectively, it's not a smart idea to bring politics into normal hobbies. You might lose supporters of your blog just because of your political stance, and that would be terrible since you're so amazing!! It's only a suggestion, but I really reccomend not bringing politics into anything.
