How do come up with those genius puns and jokes before your polls? I love them.
Thank you, I'm glad you like them!! <3 That was one of the most fun parts for me was coming up with little jokes and quips for each round (or changing the picture to fit with the new round)
I wanted to add a little extra ~flair to make it special, and I can never resist making a pun!
Thanks for answering <3
The ✨️flair✨️ is definitely there.
And I think now you owe us the emergency joke in case Oncat beat Nikolai
SO! THE PLAN WAS!
if there was Total Oncat Sweep, for the next round I was gonna photoshop a little teal coat onto her. and Tamar vs Oncat was going to say “Which is sharper: axes or claws” and the choices were going to be Tamar or Captain Sturmcat
then, if Oncat continued her quest for glory, if she beat Tamar I was going to photoshop in some axes along with the coat
and then Oncat was going to keep collecting little trophies the more she won. like I’d give her lens flare if went up against and beat Alina, etc
I was predicting either Zoya or Aleksander in the final from the other side of the bracket but I could use the same joke about surly cats either way
Nikolai pulled ahead in the last couple hours, but he spent most of the day losing! I had like 24 hours of making my peace with that potential shakeup
Honorable Mention Awards
For rounds that were particularly exciting or noteworthy and kept us all on our toes!
The DeKappel Award for Patronage of the Arts goes to: Yuri Vedenen and Ulla Morozova, for having fanart of their bracket round! by @itsnotunfinisheditsmystyle
The CPR Award goes to: Mal Oretsev, for coming back to life and pulling into the lead in the last 20 minutes of the poll. Congratulations on an extremely successful eleventh-hour turnaround! His prize will be an all-expense-paid trip on the Volkvolny and a fancy new coat
The Sankt Nikolai, Patron Saint of Lost Causes, Award goes to: Oncat, for almost??? beating??? Nikolai???? You may not have made it into the show, Oncat, but you clearly made it into our hearts! Her prize will be, as previously stated, an honorary position as minister in Ravka’s new government
The Horseshoes and Hand-Grenades Award goes to: David Kostyk, who lost to Zoya by exactly one vote. His prize will be a generous four entire horseshoes and one single hand-grenade to be used at his discretion. This poll does not accept liability for any subsequent damages to Little Palace property in the name of science
The Fold Endowment Fund Award for Living Rent Free in People’s Minds goes to: Aleksander Morozova himself, for inciting so much ire in people previously uninterested in this bracket that said poll received significantly more votes than any other—including about 500+ people who voted in only that poll and not the other semifinal running concurrently. His prize is the smug knowledge that numerically, he still received a greater number of votes in the semifinal round than either Genya or Nikolai (by approximately double). He will also receive a handful of sand from the Fold, to represent the lack of grass being touched
Thank you to all the Ravkans-and-friends for battling it out this week! May Ravka now find peace away from brackets and puns!
