Isn't it a bit wretched that when you experience childhood trauma you can never simply talk about your trauma without divulging the secrets of everyone you lived with?

Yes, your father screamed at you and told you often how much he wanted to kill you, but did he not do the same to your brother? And did your brother not witness it happen to you? If you tell someone about it, you are telling them of your brothers trauma too, and isn't that supposed to be private? Where does your trauma end and your brothers begin? When do you draw the line? Isn't his suffering also your own? Should you then never speak of it, lest you embarrass him too?
