You’re forgetting the scene in the beginning where they’re prisoners in the ship. Tulio is lifting Miguel so Miguel and look out, and Tulio briefly rubs his face against Miguel’s ass. Best. ever.

^This part is subtle and often missed. At the end, when Tulio and Miguel are reunited, they run to hug each other and Altivo interrupts just as Tulio has his hand on his pal’s waist.

While I totally agree with everything above [K and I have shipped this since loong before we even knew about tumblr] I just went through my own copy of the film frame by frame, and.. it doesn’t look like Tulio is kissing Miguel before the Tzekel Kan cat attacks them?

Here is the very first frame of that scene. Pardon the little control bar down there I was too lazy to crop it out.

BUT YEAH. THERE IS NO DENYING THEIR RELATIONSHIP. Another fun thing to watch is how much of a creepy fangirl Nazi Tzekel Kan is over Miguel and Tulio. Or at least, the gods he thinks are Miguel and Tulio. IF IT DOESN’T CONFORM TO WHAT IS STATED IN THE CANON [i.e. his little codex that he’s constantly flipping through] THEN SOMETHING IS UP. Just. Listen to how he talks about his precious prophecies and when he finds out that Miguel can bleed and GODS DO NOT BLEED BITCH THAT IS WHY THEY DEMAND BLOOD

And also, we are pretty sure that Tzekel Kan and the chief are exes or something.

And the scene where Miguel and Tulio are arguing, just before the one above where the jaguar jumps at them? Tzekel Kan seems to be enjoying it a little too much. Just. Watch his face throughout the whole argument.

One scene that always kills us is the musical number that plays during the dramatic breakup scene, when Tulio’s getting ready to leave and Miguel’s planning on staying there with his god status.
