Rollin' with the LGBT || Ray & Seamus
Seamus was worried. This was a different. This wasâŠ.making him nervous. He ran his fingers through his hair. âAre ye sure this is a good idea? Heâs still so young!â He grunted as Ray stood in front of the mirror shaving. This was my no means Reillyâs first pride. Since he was born Ray and Seamus had been taking him to pride. Seamus & Ray wanted to normalise him having two dads and for him to be free to be whoever he wanted. From a young age it was clear to them that Reilly wasnât straight. When he came out to them as bisexual it really wasnât much of a shock. But the last few years Reilly had been getting really into drag. After watching the latest season of RuPauls Drag Race he insisted he wanted to walk the pride parade this year in full drag with his parents. âHeâs fourteen ya know? What if someone thinks weâre bad dad or somethinââ he made some kind of a disgruntled expression. He couldnât believe he Seamus cared what others thought. He was just worried Reilly might get laughed at or made fun of and he didnât know if heâd be able to keep his temper if this happened. âMaybe we should tell him to wait until heâs sixteen at least?â
Ray kept his eyes on the task at hand. Shaving really was a chore but he wasn't about to let himself go - certainly not when they were to march in a massive parade. His eyes briefly flickered over to Seamus when he started talking. He shrugged at first, listening to Seamus talk on about it. He splashed water on his face, washing off the leftover shaving foam and grabbing the small towel. "Since when do you care what people think? Also, have you met Reilly? Have you ever seen that boy get down about something someone has said to him? He knows the risks, he knows what can happen but he doesn't care. If it makes him happy to go out and march in the parade like that, then I have nothing against it. And what some average Joe thinks of my parenting skills really could not bother me less." He wiped his face then looked at Seamus, his hand landing on the man's shoulder. "Relax, okay? It'll be fine."
The Aftermath || Seamus & Ray
theirishbutcher:
Seamus smiled. Ray knew him all too well. Well he should do, they had been together for twenty years. Seamus gleamed excitedly when Ray presented him on the DVD of their wedding video âNo fuckinâ way?!â he beamed as Ray popped the movie on. Seamus grinned, wrapping his arms tightly around Rayâs waist as his husband sat on his lap. He kissed the back of his head as the DVD started playing. âI canât believe 14 years have passed already!?â he chuckled softly âWhere did thaâ time go eh?âÂ
He watched the screen and soon became immersed into the past. That beautiful day that Seamus would never forget. The happiest day of his life when he got to call Ray his forever. The sun was shining down, the garden where they got married looked beautiful, there were shots of the guests mingling. The orchestra were playing celestial soft tunes as people walked around. The scenes then cut to clips of them each walking up the aisle. Their best men and women, little Reilly as the ring bearer.Â
âGod I canny remember him being so small!â Seamus whispered as the tap went on. Then got to Seamusâ favourite part, the exchanging of the vows and rings. God Ray looked so god damn handsome that day.He remembered the way he looked at him when he walked down the aisle. Seamus smiled to himself as he watched that clip. Sometime deep down inside him tugged at his heart and he nuzzled his face into the back of Rayâs neck, hoping his husband wouldnât feel the single tear roll down his cheek.Â
Ray smiled watching the video. It had been a beautiful day. And it had taken him a damn long time to plan it all. The amount of stress and anxiety he lived through during the months leading up to their wedding was incalculable. Everything turned out okay though, no major disasters. The world decided to give them a break that time.Â
The wedding was one of the last times Ray got to see his grandfather. Delia was an old man by then. Bound to a wheelchair most of the time, he was a wholly different image of a man than the one in Rayâs childhood memories. Heâd asked the man to marry them seeing as he was legally able to - a long story. The joy on his grandfatherâs face when heâd asked almost made up for all the years heâd allowed him to think he was dead - almost. That day, Delia arrived in his best suit and held onto his walking stick determinedly as Ilsa helped him down the aisle to the top. Ray knew he was putting himself through a lot of pain but no amount of convincing would have made him sit down in his chair.Â
They had assigned sides - one for Ray and one for Seamus although some people didnât really adhere and you were able to find some Italians amidst the redheads and some Irish in a throng of Italians on the right side of the aisle. Ray was to come from that direction, Seamus from the opposite and they met in the middle. Ray remembered that moment well. He hadnât been able to take his eyes off Seamus - the moment so surreal. Never in a million years would he have guessed heâd be in love with a man and yet, seeing Seamus in his tuxedo walking towards him, it seemed awfully natural.Â
They linked their hands and walked up to where Delia stood. And the ceremony went on. Back in the hotel room, Seamus had leaned his head against him and Ray had an idea that it had been the vows that got to him. He turned his head enough so he could smile and kiss him.Â
âMy favorite partâs coming up.â He announced, returning his gaze to the TV as the first few notes of their first dance sounded from the TV. It had been a magical moment. And as much as everyone says it and as cliche as it sounds, it really was like they had been the only ones on that dance floor. Everyone around them just blurred. They began the dance by looking at each other and at first, they were grinning - no doubt both were remembering the amount of evenings Ray had spent trying to teach Seamus how not to step on his feet during their first dance. Their grins eventually mellowed out into content smiles as the song continued.Â
By some peopleâs standards, they hadnât been together that long but they had certainly had their fair share of ups and downs. Damn it, they had faked their own deaths. Back then, Ray had told himself it was so they could end his ties with the mob and do something with his life but in reality? They fled Launceston so they could be together. They fled so both of them had a chance at life. Together. They knew that if they stayed either one or both would have ended up dead.Â
Yet, here they were... Slow dancing and with nothing but love in their eyes. Rayâs mind flashed back through all the times things were hard. Seamusâ drug addiction, the night he got assaulted, the time Seamus burned him, the first night they made love and the morning after when Seamus fled. All the fights and all the hurt. None of that mattered because the man standing in front of him right now... He hadnât changed, not exactly. He was still perfectly Seamus - but he was the Seamus that got a break from all the shitty cards he was dealt. It was a Seamus that was loved and would always be loved. Seamus still with all of his annoying habits of leaving clothes around and not cleaning up after himself but Seamus who was happy. Ray wouldnât have had it any other way.Â
They moved closer, narrowing the gap between their bodies. Watching the video, Ray remembered the moment vividly. Heâd closed his eyes and tried to engrave the moment in his mind - the smells of the flowers, fresh air and their cologne and the sound of the song of their first dance.Â
This time it was his turn for tears but it wasnât just one. And he didnât really notice he was crying - it just sort of... happened. A lot of time had passed.Â
The Aftermath || Seamus & Ray
theirishbutcher:
Seamus laughed shaking his head. âHow do yer always know exactly what I need eh?â he smirked as he watched the food being brought into the room. He grabbed a chair and sat down at the table. The food looked absolutely divine. He nodded listening to Rayâs oh so intricate description of their meal for no more than a second before digging in himself. âItâs fuckinâ fantastic babeâ he said through a mouthful of nachos, bad as well-mannered as ever. He never did learn. Despite the disapproving look on Rayâs face he continued to eat anyway.Â
âYer thaâ best ya know thaâ sweetâeart?â he spoke in a muffled manner, mouth still full of food. âThaâ fuckinâ bestâ he added before swallowing and washing his food down with a swig of champagne. âGood shit, good shitâ he grinned, sitting back in his chair for a moment smirking at his partner, Ray was still tucking his napkin into his collar and deliberating between which fork would be best suited to his side of vegetables. They were polar opposites, which is exactly why they worked so well together.Â
Without warning Seamus leaned across the table and stole a kiss from Rayâs unsuspecting lips. âI fuckinâ love youâ he murmured against the other manâs soft lips before pulling away slowly âThank youâŠ.fer all this I meanâ he added before sitting back down in his seat again to enjoy the rest of the food Ray had picked out for them.
âWeâve been together long enough for me to know what youâd order... and then I get the say so thatâs why youâve got some vegetables on your plate.â Ray countered, digging into his own food. Heâd long since given up the fight to civilise Seamus. Well, that was a lie. Occasionally, he still tried to instil in him the /right/ way of doing things, but heâd learnt that there was a careful balance about the way things were and if he were to upset that, well... Seamus might not even act like Seamus anymore and then whatâs the point?Â
They kissed, ate the delicious food and chatted. When they were finally sitting back and nibbling on the fruit platter, Ray thought it was about time he revealed something heâd brought along in his bag. He excused himself from the table and disappeared into the bedroom, rummaging through the bag before he found what he was looking for and then returning to Seamus.Â
âSeamus... You know, itâs been twenty years. Where the fuck has the time gone, huh? Remember a few years back when our bath leaked through to the storage cupboard and we thought it ruined our wedding video? I found someone who could fix it and well...â He brought the DVD out from behind his back and waved it.Â
âI know that it hasnât been twenty years since the wedding but I thought it was a nice gift. And I was glad to have saved it.â He walked over to the where the TV was and put the DVD on. âIâve got other gifts as well, but first...âÂ
He clicked play on the remote and walked back before sitting down on Seamusâ lap and taking his hand. âTi amo, amore mio.âÂ
The Aftermath || Seamus & Ray
16 oz. Piedmontese Bone-in Ribeyetheirishbutcher:
Seamus still couldnât and didnât think that he ever would get over the large amount of money that Ray seemed to have no problem dropping in one place. Seamus would have been happy with renting a little apartment up in Harlem but no, Ray of course wanted to go big. Who was he to tell his husband to stop spoiling them though? He had worked hard for his money and he deserved to spend it however he pleased. He sighed happily as he felt Rayâs hands slip around his waist. It was such a comfortable position. He leant his head back against Ray, resting in the crook of his neck. âThis is a perfect viewâ he murmured.
He couldnât wait for the food, he was hungry but glad that Ray had agreed to room service tonight, Seamus was looking forward to quality time with his baby, just the two of them, no snooty waiter or boujee socialites to annoy him. âWhat are we âaving for dinner eh? I bet yer pick thaâ most expensive thing on thaâ menu like lobster or somethinâ hrrm?â He chuckled trying to ignore Rayâs comment about his father. He shrugged slightly.
âMamsâ are easy like, yer just gotta smile anâ be charminâ an it ainât not bother, dadâs on thaâ other handâŠ.they are trickyâ he made a face. âDunno how ter talk to âem or approach âemâŠ.never âad a good relationship with mineâŠ.I try my best not ter fuck up my relationship with yer dadâŠ.always feel like Iâm makinâ a fool of myself thoughâ.

As if right on cue, there was a knock at the Suiteâs door. Ray pecked Seamusâ cheek and told him to grab a seat at the dining table as he went to get the door. The waiter wheeled their food in on his cart and laid it out on the table. Ray thanked and tipped him and he was gone just as quickly.Â
âDig in.â He said, taking some things onto his plate as he began answering Seamusâ question from earlier.Â
âI knew weâd be hungry so I got... probably a bit more than we need but Iâm sure you can finish it. For starters, I got us some nachos and tomato bruschetta.â He then grabbed the menu the waiter left with them just to remind himself of the orders.Â
âThen for your main, I got you the 16 oz. Piedmontese Bone-in Ribeye with the Red Wine Jus sauce and the two sides of SautĂ©ed Broccoli With Chili & Garlic Grilled Asparagus and Garlic SautĂ©ed Mushrooms Steamed Spinach. For my main, I got the same sides but with the 8 oz. Black Angus Filet Mignon and the Red Wine Jus sauce. For desert, I just got us the fruit platter because we donât need sugar before bed and of course, thereâs champagne to celebrate our first holiday away from house in A LONG TIME.â He finished, pouring both of them some champagne and lifting it in a gesture of a toast. âTo having adult alone time?âÂ
âWe are coming back to your daddy issues though, donât worry.âÂ
The Aftermath || Seamus & Ray
theirishbutcher:
72 HOURS EARLIER
Seamus was excited, it had been a good long time since him and Ray had gone on vacation together, all be it a short one. Since Reilly was born it seemed as if the couple never got time to themselves. Of course that was the same for any other parents and in the recent years Reilly had become old enough to be left alone for a night or two. But having a weekend to themselves was going to be fantastic.
âMan I canny remember thaâ last time we were in New York City together eh?â He said throwing his arm around his husband as they looked out the window of their fancy hotel room Friday evening.Â
âI also canny remember the last time you anâ me were alone anâ able to âave some grown up time without âaving ter worry âbout our teenage son walkinâ in on us!â he chuckled leaning in and kissing Rayâs neck.Â
âYer dad scares meâŠ.â he muttered against the other manâs skin hoping this muffled comment would go unnoticed.
Since it was their first vacation in a long time, Ray wasnât about to hold back. They had very decent savings as they were both doing quite well for themselves but nowhere to spent it really. They hadnât been to New York in a while and they certainly hadnât been down to visit his parents in a while. Adriano and Ilsa had come down to Tampa Bay - in fact, they liked to make the visits somewhat regular and they spoiled Reilly rotten.Â
Ray had booked the Central Park Suite with the Terrace in the Four Seasons. It didnât disappoint - and it shouldnât have for the price he paid. They got in in the afternoon, got into the city via a taxi, checked in and then wandered the streets for a few hours until it got dark.Â
And so they found themselves staring out the window - the sights breathtaking. Central Park in the distance and skyscrapers all around. Rayâs arms found his way to Seamusâ waist as he continued to glance out. Theyâd agreed to get room service - fancy dinner was saved for Saturday night though Ray had tried to argue that they should have had it on Friday night also. Canât win every battle.Â
âHow are you still scared of him, after all these years? I find my mother much more intimidating.âÂ
The Aftermath || Seamus & Ray
The house was an absolute tip. Apparently Reilly thought it appropriate to throw a house party while Ray and Seamus were away for the weekend. The couple had just returned home, tired from their travels when this scene greeted them in their living room. Red cups everywhere, half empty cans of beer and liquor and a very questionable stain on the couch.Â
âGod fuckinâ dammitâ Seamus whispered under his breath, knowing that Ray would blow a gasket if he saw the mess. Seamus quickly closed the door to the living room making a mental note to ground Reilly later. As soon as Ray was in the door Seamus grabbed him by the hand.Â
âCâmon Darlinâ lets get to bed eh? Itâs real late like anâ we been travellinâ for a long time. Ya know all thaâ drivinâ you should probably sleep eh?â He said, gently pulling Ray towards the staircase.Â
Ray and Seamus had managed to not only align their weekends off but they had planned a trip. They took a plane up to JFK Airport, spent Friday and Saturday in the City and then Adriano, his father, picked them up from NY and drove them down to Warren, NJ where they spent the day with his parents and had a nice dinner before his father drove them all the way back to JFK. It was a great trip but it had certainly been a busy trip. A lot to do and not an awful lot of sleep.
They had picked up their car from the long term parking lot and were home soon after. Ray was ready to crash - it was way past his bedtime. Even so, as he dragged the luggage into the house, Seamus spoke and Ray frowned. Unless Seamus was trying to get him into the bedroom quickly so they can have sex - again - this was suspicious. He narrowed his eyes then glanced at the living room door. Which was rarely closed.Â
âOn a scale of 1 to Alessia Auditore, how likely am I to kill our son?âÂ
Sleep on me, feel the rhythm in my chest, just breathe I will stay so the lantern in your heart wonât fade
The secrets you tell me Iâll take to my grave Thereâs bones in my closet, but you hang stuff anyway And if you have nightmares, weâll dance on the bed I know that you love me, love me Even when I lose my head Guillotine, guillotine Even when I lose my head Guillotine, guillotine Even when I lose my head
Kiss my lips, feel the rhythm of your heart and hips I will pray so the castle that weâve built wonât cave
You fill me up, you fill me up You set my soul ablaze You fill me up, you fill me up Your love is so amazing You fill me up, you fill me up You set my soul ablaze You fill me up even when I lose my head
