Two years ago, I graduated from film school. The very next day, I moved to London. Time flies so dang fast. This was a very exciting and tremendously terrifying as well as lonely period in my life. I had no clue how I was going to survive being freelance in this saturated industry but it hasn’t been all bad. I very much felt like I was fighting all on my one, with no safety net. It was easy to be envious of others. But even during the rough months, I knew I’d rather be a struggling filmmaker and my own boss than doing a 9 to 5. That’s what kept me going. Being my own boss and in charge of my career is the most rewarding thing in my life. I still overwork myself constantly and burn out from time to time but I’m in a very happy place right now. Another one of @loveisenough. Despite the Instagram algorithm treating me like trash, (I only get likes from about 2% of my followers lol) I’m feeling motivated to shoot more portraits for the first time in a while! It’s a great creative outlet.
