Meet Marian, behind the plate.
Marian di balik piring.Ā
Being a kid is being in between lights and shade. Everyday is an adventure in the lessons of life. This boy is getting his boat ready for lift off to the ocean!
3 university students sharing one umbrella. All under the red and white flag.
3 mahasiswi berbagi satu payung. Semua dibawah sang merah putih.
I didnāt know this kid. All i know he was upset because he crashed his bike into another kid. Then he just stood there with that expression. Almost like saying.. take a picture of me now!
āI will wait for the widowā - said the trash cart..
āKu Tunggu Jandamuā - kata gerobak sampah..
Almost like a cross between a half assed mondrian, minimalist photography, and mostly trash..Ā
Iām in love with a salawati cow
jatuh cinta sama sapi salawati
The wooden bench in anĀ āangkotā (Indonesian public transportation literally means inter-city) that makes me feel like the birthday boy! When you sit on this bench, you will automatically face the other passengers. There are six people on your left side, and four people on your right side. Even though those people are sitting facing each other, they will look forward toward the driver. Which means... they will look at you because the bench is back to back with the driver. But I love sitting in this bench because itās right by the open air exit door. It is the only exit besides the driver and the front door so if anything happened... the birthday boy gets to jump out first!
Jadi kalau terjadi apa-apa... bocah ultah loncat duluan keluar!
The motor 'becakā(Indonesian style rickshaw bicycle) driver waiting for long distance passangers. I found it fascinating that the other bicycle 'becakāare empty. Neither the driver or the passenger were there. It's like an omen: The death of eco-friendly bicycle pedals.
I was in manado for energy awarenes campaign with the Indonesian department of mineral and energy. One day before the event, I was out and about to get a feel for the city. Thatās when I found this small haven. It was hidden behind a forest of āRukoā (typical Indoensian shop and office complex). My worries about energy and environment kind of disappeared for a while. We were OK before this whole urban invasion. Who needs shops, gadgets, and fossil fueled transportation when we have our small heaven in the backyard of our house? well.. maybe not exactly in the backyard, but a little walk shouldnāt be problem should it? Then my consciousness bounced back and the reality is cruel. We should care. Our habits destroys nature.
Kita semua baik-baik saja sebelum dijajah budaya urban.

I canāt lie. This image is sexy as hell... so when i finally had my hands on an experia Z2 i immediately bought it. It was the most expensive phone i had ever bought.. yet i feel like i have all the reason to get it. Great photos, great video, and.. water and fall proof (but in the end i have to replace the lcd and cover twice!!) Some of the photos in this visual journal are taken by this very phone. And honestly... thereās nothing special about this phone.. itās just that i fall in love with it - PERIOD -Ā
This somewhat lonely set up was actually turned into a nice amount of local crowd around the small city in Wakatobi, south sulawesi. We were there for a film event that we created entitled Indonesian International Environmental Film Festival. It was a great small festival with screenings, discussions, and film workshops with local, national, and international guests. The festival in a way was a reason for us to celebrate nature and pledge in our hearts to commit to create better environmental future.
