Augmented Reality

The case of augmented reality is a curious one. With technology there is endless editing and concealing, infinite ways to tweak and filter, cropping out parts we don’t like and highlighting what we want others to focus on.

“I don’t know”

(Why does it matter what they think?)

“I don’t know”

We tell stories about ourselves, but they are so abrupt. They end so quickly and so often. They stop when things start to seem unpleasant, when things might look imperfect, when someone wants to ask a question that we don’t want to answer.

(What are you trying to do?)

“I’m not sure”

(Is it working?)

“I’m not sure”

And the words and the photos form something so supremely saccharine, so sublime - you could paint a picture with them, and they would tell a story but it wouldn’t belong to anyone.
