“Can’t say that I have. I really don’t care what people think of me if that isn’t obvious. Why do you get embarrassed so easily? You actually have this quiet confidence about you, but I could be mistaking it for your big brain,” Erica shrugged. “I think you don’t give yourself enough credit. Just because no one’s calling you cute out loud doesn’t mean they aren’t thinking it. I’m sure there’s someone in this school who’s got the hots for you and you don’t even know it. And I’m not about to punch you again because you look good with a black eye,” she raised her brow. “Did you have to say that? Really? You have no friends so books are your friends? You’re killing me here, Rory.”
“The confidence is a facade, trust me. Surprised it’s even working. I get embarrassed all the time because I constantly do embarrassing things. I trip. I fall. I snort. You know the kid who accidentally calls the teacher mom? That’s me. Good thing constant ridicule builds character.” He said, matter of factly, as if it wasn’t borderline pathetic. “Alright, that was way too nice. You’re definitely trying to get me to let my guard down so you can hex me. I’m stealing your hair of the dog, I won’t be caught slipping.” He shot her an apologetic face; he was always killing someone. “What? It’s true.I used to read text books for fun in middle school.”
