april 8th . it’s saved in the voice memos app as ‘ begin ’ .
i would like to start this off by saying ‘ i’m eating a bowl of cereal ’ so don’t
mind that noise .
i think it would be a good idea to start doing voice memos as often as
possible to help with my mental health & just to help with being more level -
headed & more open - minded . kinda like a self reflection for the day .
uhm . . . i don’t exactly know what i plan to do with these , if anything ,
they’re just reminders ------- things i want to work on , goals . basically like a
diary . feelings , coach backs , all that good stuff .
i wanna try to do this everyday , as strength building so that i don’t have to
rely on other people so much . it would be nice to turn my phone off for an
hour or two : read a book , do something -- all without hoping someone would
message me whether it’s friends , family , strangers . i rely on it too much .
i also just want to be more positive in general & i think it has a lot to do
with how i currently view things .
hm . . .
you know what i want this to be ? you know what i want to get out of it ?
it’s kinda like a miniature therapy session . i think it’ll be good .

“ who are you ? ”
“ my name is cleotilde claire clemmons , but you can call me cleo ----- you’ll probably hear someone call me cece every once in a while too , but it’s only my mom who is allowed to really call me that . i am currently twenty - two & i attend university as an ecotourism major . ”
“ any dreams , motivations , secrets ? ”
“ friends make my world go ‘round , so they’re my biggest motivation to do anything for sure . but i guess if i’m being honest my biggest secret is that i want to get out of brentwood . this isn’t going to be shared with anyone is it ? i can’t imagine what my friends would say if they knew , i don’t want them to feel abandoned or anything like that . i just think that the world has more to offer than brentwood . ”
“ what’s your reputation like ? ”
“ at one point in time my reputation was the stereo - typical ‘ mom friend ’ which i kind of brought on myself . when i really think about it i still think i am the mom friend , i don’t like seeing my friends argue with one another & i try to immediate that as best as i can ----- reminds me of when i had to babysit my three younger brothers growing up . as of today though , i think people try to group my reputation in with my mom , which isn’t all that good . most people think i’m going to end up like her . ”
“ what’s was your childhood like ? ”
“ it definitely was a roller coaster ride . i spent a lot of my time playing the mom - figure in my family & i had to watch my younger brothers a lot while i was in school . so my childhood was a balancing act , less childhood & more being a young - adult . ”
“ do you live here or are you just visiting ? ”
“ i’ve lived here all my life . my mom has lived here all her life & from what she’s told me my grandparents have lived here all their lives as well . one of my aunts got lucky & has left brentwood , my other aunt doesn’t live here either , but she has a house here that she uses to visit every summer . ”
“ how do you typically dress ? ”
“ i like comfortable clothes , something that i can easily climb a tree in . i don’t mind getting a little dirt on my clothes either ‘cause a good chunk of my clothes comes from second - hand stores . lots of people would classify me dressing as a tomboy or skater - esque , this doesn’t mean that i can’t dress up like the people at the yacht club though . ”
