can I just talk about this moment right here:
the moment where isak hesitates after he says “you are not alone” before kissing even?
it’s not just them being tender with each other. it is deliberate. isak is saying a thousand unspoken words in this moment. isak knows even gave up tonight. isak knows how fragile even is right now.
he doesn’t just say “you’re not alone” and goes to kiss him. he waits. he so, so carefully waits for even’s response. it’s almost as if isak is asking:
do you trust me (in saying you’re not alone)?
will you give me a chance to be the person in this universe to make you feel not alone?
will you let me love you? will you let me give you security?
do you have faith in me, to move forward with me?
and there’s a split-second where even nudges closer as if to give isak permission, and then isak kisses him. and if you look closely, right after the kiss, even takes a shuddering breath - just like he did in episode 3 in the kitchen (right before attempting to kiss isak). and that’s where even makes his decision. that’s where even puts his faith in isak for a second time. he puts faith in them.
and honestly? this is one of the best love stories ever written. hands-down. I’ve seen many, many love stories of all different kinds, and this is truly one of the most poignant, beautiful love stories ever in media.
