This is a place for sharing all our favorite Resident Evil games, tropes, fanfic, fanart, creators, cosplayers, characters, and more! The aim is to create a space for sharing recs and giving each other appreciation

Lol all jokes aside, this is probably one of my favorite "debates" in the fandom. I hope we can all agree that Leon is handsome, regardless ✨️

I don't know what kind of confession this is, if you could even call it that. I think this is just me gushing over why I love the series.

Admittedly, I've never played the games. I've always enjoyed it from the sidelines, watching lets plays and reading up on the lore. My main reasoning being I can't afford the newer consoles and my dexterity when it comes to action games isn't all that great (it may be an autism thing). But I do love the setting, story, characters, world building and overall vibe. I think it becoming my current hyper fixation was an inevitability, because it's been sort of lurking in the back of my mind since Resident Evil 2 Remake came out.

Ironically, I find that each game has at least one part of it's setting and atmosphere that soothes me, even beyond the save rooms. I don't know what it is about semi gothic settings or my weird fascination with rot and decay but Resident Evil has an abundance of it which I think fuels my longing to be in some of these places.

I also find all the characters incredibly comforting, especially after Capcom got out of it's 'Ugh, women' phase. Because beyond the jokes and the over the top action at some parts, you get the sense that most if not all the main characters are deeply caring people who just want to help others. I think this remake era in particular has put emphasis on making people like Leon, Claire, Carlos, Jill etc. protectors. I'm aware these may have been characteristics from the originals as well, but I think there was a lot more effort put into this factor that goes beyond being heroic for heroics sake. Like these people are flawed but would gladly do their best to save innocence.

Anyway, while it comes to fan media, I love the memes and fanfics like anyone else, but i particularly like stuff that feels like it's putting you in the setting. Particularly in the save rooms or even when the map has been cleared. Unfortunately I haven't found any fics like that in a while, and algorithms have a way of sending previous likes and reblogs to the shadow realm if they weren't recent. If anyone has any recommendations I will gladly eat them up. I've been loving everyone's recs so far.

Hiiiii! Here are some writers I wanna shoutout for their work! Leon-centric, mainly.

@und34dd0ll especially their Mean Mister Agent and His Tough Little Rookie series!!! CW for Leon being a meany at first, daddy kink, daddy issues, reader has a crappy dad. BUT OMG THE DYNAMIC BETWEEN LEON AND READER IS SO YUMMY!

@julymist has a bunch of great one-shots and her You're Gonna Be Okay series makes my heart melt. Her current series is Leon x OC, Holding Out for a Hero, is super cool! Her OC, Nora, is awesome, and I love the details that julymist puts into the story and into her character. CW for dead dove content in some of her fics, but a lot of her work is not, so I suggest browsing her work.

@dzaneh has a really sweet and angsty Leon x Ashley series called "Through Different Eyes" that I really enjoy. I like the way Leon and Ashley's dynamic is portrayed in this series, and it feels very in character to me.

@matarath has multiple longfics for Leon and Chris and her work is super hot and super fun and always makes me happy to read. Her Ao3 account is under the same name.

@f41ryb0nes has a fantastic Leon x Reader longfic called The Condor and the Swan with princess Reader and he is her bodyguard. Super emotional and the smut is hot. She also did a series of threesome oneshot fics recently that were hot and a lot of fun.

@alibellerosetta who is primarily active on Ao3 under the same username, but has a wonderful selection of Leon fics and a couple Luis fics. She posts very consistently and always has fun and new ideas that make me excited to read.

Ok so here are some fic writers I really wanna appreciate and send some love to. Keep in mind, almost all of them have written at least some smut, including like age gaps or sex pollen that may not be everyone's cup of tea, so if these things bother anyone, please kindly ignore them. Also, I do have a bias towards Leon but I have tried to include some other RE characters as well.

@starberrymatcha : their short fic where leon helps the reader put on some makeup in the morning has to be some of the cutest stuff I have laid eyes on. Overall I love them for their fluff and they've written both for younger reader and older reader. They recently left the leon tumblr community because of the discourse, but I think they intend to keep updating their longfics on ao3 and wattpad, so go check them out. They also have some Chris fics as well.

@tokkiwrites : ok so heavier smut warning on some of their fics as at least one of them is what I classify as dead dove (I'm talking about the parasite infected Leon fic specifically). Do explore with caution. But I have to draw attention to their RE9 Vampire fic. It is such an atmospheric read and I love the gothic undertones. It really leaves you wondering whether the reader is entirely herself, or if she's being unknowingly hypnotized and you kinda feel pulled along with her. This fic sparked my interest in Vampire Leon and I keep coming back to the trope because of it. Would read again.

@menmadeofwarninglabels : I love nearly everything they do. Their drabbles can be so wholesome and a couple of recent ones have made me laugh such as the 'Leon when it hits 5:01pm'. But I have to recommend them for their concepts alone. I know sex pollen isn't for everyone, but their version of it is absolutely fascinating to me and I would love to see more of it. Also 'Mission Marriage' and the series where they go to the exe's wedding is chefs kiss. The way they write a yearning Leon is some of the best I've ever seen. They really know how to do the smaller, more domestic parts of being in love which is something I really appreciate in a fic. They also write for Chris and Ethan and if I get further along in Supernatural I might read their Dean Winchester stuff.

@millimeraki : I have read almost their entire masterlist with the exception of the Carlos fics (which I intend to rectify). My favorite stuff of theirs is anything involving their CIA Reader x Leon because the dynamic is just impeccable and is the exact kind of back and forth I hope to find in Leon's canon partner.

@lanadelreyylover : I discovered them through their fic 'If You Lie Down With Me' and then kept finding more stuff by them without even realizing they were the same person. Also, they write like a maniac. I sent a request yesterday morning and woke up today to find they finished it along with like 5 other fics. Like I'm almost tempted to ask if they're ok. Like, do they sleep???? And before anyone asks, I'm certain they don't use AI, they've said it themself that they were running on Adderall and Redbull which makes the quality of what they publish even more insane, I hope they had a good nap afterwards. They write for both Leon and Chris if anyone is interested.

@poppireads : This is the fic writer that sent me down the rabbit hole of my now revived Leon Kennedy and or Resident Evil obsession. In case you couldn't tell, I lean more towards longfics or oneshots with a bit of plot. Poppi wrote one Leon x Reader series with exactly that. The fic is called 'A New Purpose' and I love them for it. If ever they think of writing more stuff, I'll be one of the first to read it. Keep in mind that the reader character has a little bit of a description, which I know might bother some people but from my perspective it's not a lot so it shouldn't be much of a problem.

Thank you so much for starting a positive confessions blog. There's so much hate and shaming in the other ones, ai allegations with writer's names and overall nasty bullying behaviour. So this is like a nice lil treat treat. Hope this blog will stay positive.

thank you for making a positive confessional! i'll start by appreciating a character that in my opinion doesn't get as much love, which is ethan!

he was such a good character going from loving husband to loving father, he's so brave and courageous and kinda saved the franchise when it was sinking post re6, plus i love his whimpers

ethan winters deserves more recognition for the awesome protag that he is, but i also blame capcom for not showing his face in re8 for no reason 😭 we NEEDED to see him in the rose dlc smh
