I missed May but here are my contributions to Mermay

(+ references that helped me on colours and lighting, learnt a lot about what lighting is like on the beach/around water :3)

A bit more ramble here:

Thanks to my friend who suggested drawing my dnd character for mermay, the friend who gave me fish ideas and the friend who gave me further little mermaid references I'm glad you see my vision

edit: omg also thanks to my friend's friend's mermaid dnd character idea that inspired me to go "oh maybe he can have both humanoid form and fish form", so I feel like the universe is open for me to go the little mermaid route or "he can have both" route, more AU potentials I guess :3

I think I need multiple design versions and more iterations as I see his primary colour being white, but I went with a more metallic(?) saturated colour tail cause fish colours are very cool

I combined the intro scene designs and the hat + hair from the official art together, and kept the whole outfit in similar colours for a darker vibe, they were also my main references for pose and ligting (also watched a good few Sellsword Arts videos so I could get Megan's close-up shots XD)

The hat and sleeves have such cool designs and were really fun to paint!

It's been a while! I logged out of drawing regularly for quite a bit due to many reasons but it's time for me to try to get back!

Just want to say thank you to everyone's nice reactions in the comments/tags about my art, I did not know it's a Tumblr tradition that people yell nice and fun things in the tags and it's really sweet TvT

I have also gotten into/returned to many different fandoms + been developing my oc in this period so I apologise for the unexpected (?) wide variety of art coming your way but I hope they will be fun :3

I used my game screenshots for the poses and lighting references, they were two of my favourites when I played pokemon violet <3

Because I realised that I didn't draw Jacques' moustache correctly in the other drawing, and I would really want to do it justice in future drawings before they go anywhere else TvT

I've been watching so many of Blumineck's videos and learning about archery since I decided to create an archer as my first dnd character, who ended up being a wood elf ranger. Seeing Bloom the elven ranger makes me emotional T^T

Went back to finish a sketch from last October

I think I've lost some raw and adorable vibes from the original sketch that I liked to try to create something that fits her a bit better, but not getting there yet T-T

It makes sense as I've only drawn her a few times comparing to my main campaign character who I've drawn a lot more

Will keep doodling and hopefully figure it out one day :3
