Genre: Oneshot. Fluff, getting together, friends to lovers, reality

Summary: Fiction. Dan’s shocked when he realises that Phil’s self-conscious about the way he looks. Apparently Phil doesn’t know that he isn’t allowed to be sad when Dan’s around. So Dan takes it upon himself to fix the situation - by complimenting something about Phil’s appearance every day. Trouble is, Dan isn’t very good at hiding his teensy tiny crush on Phil. (Originally written for the phanfic exchange from a prompt from comeonitsphan)

fun fact: the longer you stare at that picture of phil the more you can physically feel your heart growing because look! at! it! look at his eyes! they’re not cartoonishly wide like they normally are in pics he posts publically! he’s not making a startled face!! his expression is the softest thing i’ve ever seen and it’s hurting me inside because it’s the same look dan had in january. iom makes them insanely sappy and in love and that’s not even me being a demon like it’s just facts!! they can’t even contain it enough NOT to post these goddamn pictures where i’m sorry, it really does look like they just got engaged or something equally personal and romantic. there’s no way in hell anyone but dan took that picture. that’s phil’s ‘i’m so in love with you’ face and i’m struggling to recall if we’ve ever really even seen phil post a picture like this? usually love eyes like this are reserved for brief moments in videos that we screenshot and elevate to something more than they usually even are?? do you see what i mean about the effect this picture is having on me right now?? i’m slowly going insane looking at it and wondering what the hell 2018 is going to be like and how the hell any of us are going to survive it??
