the white western world believes the famine and death of black and brown people is integral and natural to our existence and that is why there is such little care and disregard, ignorance and eagerness to portray palestine and sudan as anything but genocide

Fucked up that Marceline had two dads and she has daddy issues about both but the daddy issues are entirely different and separate. Straight up doubled up.

A Statement of Gaza's Demands by People in Gaza posted by Kehlani on Instagram. More info on who to follow at the link. Reminder to prioritize Palestinian calls to action in posts, protests, signs, and contact to reps
A STATEMENT OF GAZA'S DEMANDS MADE BY PEOPLE IN GAZA Since those who are dying at the moment are thousands of our people, our main and central demand is to stop this killing without exceptions and without any manipulation of words or attempts to distort the essence of the occupation. The political terminology used by supporters or different influential parties, whether it is phrased as "ceasefire" or "halt of hostilities" or "stop the aggression on Gaza," in all these cases these are political phrases that do not relate to the essence of the demand but rather to the degree of responsibility attributed to the speaker for the fighting, either for us or for the occupation. The actual term that means effectively stopping the firing is "ceasefire," which is a specific term in international law, clear in its provisions and associated measures. Terminologies like "halt ethnic cleansing" and "halt genocide" and "halt crimes against civilians" are extremely detrimental in terms of their real impact now. Many of these terms imply a reduction in the killing rate among Palestinians below the level of ethnic cleansing and genocide. They do not mean stopping the killing, they do not mean stopping the aggression, and they also mean an exception for for those classified by Israel or the United States as exempt from these cessation terms, meaning go on as you do in every previous aggression and kill anyone you consider "Hamas-affiliated" or "non-civilian." In reality, these phrases align with Israeli-American desires and there is no single precedent or guarantee that Israel fought for one day without committing dozens of war crimes and crimes against civilians. Stopping crimes only happens partially when there is a complete cessation of fire. Important demands for the Gaza Strip: 1. An immediate ceasefire that allows the entry of aid, retrieval of bodies, and the rescue of those trapped under the rubble with a commitment to meet the real demands of the people of Gaza. 2. Immediate restoration of energy, water, and communication services that Israel has cut off from the Gaza Strip. 3. Sending delegations of solidarity from the united States, including doctors, paramedics, emergency experts, and others. This needs to happen urgently, and their presence at the Rafah border crossing would exert pressure on the political parties to open the crossing in a sustainable, not temporary, manner. 4. If possible, we would like to see a U.S. senator friendly to our people in the Gaza Strip, at the Rafah crossing, or an official visit to Egypt and Jordan. This would change a lot of pressure. 5. Opening exit routes for civilians is a proposed solution that is not feasible and is rejected. Palestinian refugees refuse to be displaced again, and there is no other place for them. Security within the Gaza Strip is required, and the goal is to return residents to their homes with the presence and assistance of the Red Cross, UNRWA representatives, and solidarity delegations. Regarding the ceasefire: Our demands here, as residents or Americans, and the entire solidarity movement do not bind the factions or Palestinian forces in any way. But it is our duty to push with all our might toward the world's acceptance of the idea of a ceasefire. If a Palestinian wishes to continue their resistance, this will not deter them, but there is a war front that has been formed, and we must work to dismantle it with these types of decisions.
to be clear we’re witnessing the systematic erasure of palestine and palestinian life by western media and their sympathisers in real time. let that sink in and let it galvanise you, if not to action then to consciousness

What is epistemic violence?
Epistemic violence exists when methods are used that lead to the extermination, annulment and destruction of certain knowledge and its bearers, reaching the extreme of their irrevocable loss, as epistemicide. 01 Aug 2020

Who coined the term epistemic violence?
The analyses of theorists such as Gayatri Spivak, who coined the term "epistemic violence", show that this form of violence is "inherent in knowledge itself, in its genesis, formation, organisation and effectiveness" (Brunner 2015, 39; see Spivak 1988, 1998, Brunner 2020). 06 Oct 2022

Princess Bubblegum's "You think I'm nice?" in that Stakes scene always stood out to me, and after my official rewatch I know how to explain why:
PB expresses several times over the course of several years that she is trying to be a better person. It is heavily hinted at from the very beginning, but in season 5 with episodes like Rattleballs, the show comes right out and tells us that Bonnibel Bubblegum has a cruel and violent past. But it's a past that she regrets, and that she wants to move away from.
And it takes years! It takes multiple plot heavy disasters, some near death experiences, some scolding from her loved ones, and a lot of mistakes for PB to genuinely begin to change, and to change the perception that others have of her.
And I think Marceline's seemingly innocent little offhand comment about her being nice is so meaningful. Especially coming from Marceline!
Someone who she once broke her heart and who hated and resented her. Now when Marceline thinks of Bonnie, one of her immediate thoughts is simply "she's nice."
And PB can barely believe her ears. She's nice? You think I'm nice? My attempts at self improvement are actually real and noticeable and the people I love aren't afraid of me as much anymore? You think I’m nice?

and what if I thought winter king Marcy wasn’t dead but instead she grew up, and Simon became a father she couldn’t be around because he pushed his madness on her girlfriend.
Imagine a young girl during the apocalypse who thinks she’s found her family, she watches him go mad, mostly to protect her. She grows up and finds love, somehow Simon “fixes” the crown issue but at the cost of the love of her life. She can’t really blame him, but it can’t stay that way but Winter King is Simon! Maybe they can find a way to solve the the madness the crown brings together? But the winter king is not interested, he’s a toxic optimist and a bit full of himself, plus probably terrified of going back to his old self. Someone she loves isn’t willing to search for a solution. I would bet the winter king offered up an ice Bonnie, to make her feel better and try to get rid of Marceline’s desire to fix the problem.
I think the winter king became a father exactly like Hunson Abadeer. Hunson is someone who thinks of Marceline as a perpetual child, someone he cares about but can’t show his love in a healthy way because of his self interest and lack of morals. Hunson doesn’t respect Marceline’s boundaries and doesn’t mind manipulating the people she loves for his own gain. She can’t stand to be around Hunson so she doesn’t visit or talk to him, I think she did the same with the winter king. Maybe Marceline is traveling, studying magic to fix both PB and Simon. Did she go mad like Betty? Instead of moving on, does she grow obsessive trying to cure the two people she cares about the most?
