He didnât know what is was about the woods that he found so comforting. Maybe it was the fact that he was surrounded by wildlife or maybe even it was the fact that he was away from humanity. Either way he found himself drawn to it more than he was civilisation. The issue with that however, was though he had been in this new area for some time, he had only really met one person and he didnât even have a job yet.
Walking through the woods, he picked up a long stick and instinctively started twirling it around like one would a sword. Old habits from his previous life. âI wonder how my family are doing... probably not missing me at allâ he shrugged as he continued within the woods
Joy didnât really know why she was in the woods, but here she was, walking aimlessly through the woods, just enjoying seeing all the little animals as they ran around. She heard a voice which caused her to go searching for the source, seeing the man twirling a stick around and she coughed loudly to announce her presence. âSorry, just didnât want to startle you and have you stab me with that stick. Does not sound very pleasant I must say.â The brunette gave the stranger a small smile. âI heard you while I was walking around out here so I wanted to come over and say that what you said probably isnât true. Iâm sure your family misses you a lot.â

There had once been a time when Blossom would have scoffed at the prospect of being a cheerleader. To the high-school-aged Blossom that always had her nose in a textbook, the very idea of a cheerleader seemed rather frivolous. While not much has changed in regards to her reading habits, sheâs happy to say sheâs moved past her Iâm Not Like Other Girls stage, thank you very much. âI was more of a âdragged to the game only to finish chem homework on the bleachersâ kind of girl, actually,â Blossom said with a light laugh. âI guess sports never really caught my interest. This isnât so bad though,â she tilted her head toward the hoop, then gestured to the ball in her hands. âWant to take a shot at it?â
Joy had been scoffed at plenty of times for being a cheerleader, it honestly wouldnât have upset her had it happened again, because she didnât really care what people thought of her choices. She believed in being happy no matter what anyone else thought, and that was what she did. âI probably shouldâve been doing my homework in the bleachers instead. Wouldâve definitely helped with my grades.â The brunette said with a laugh, because she wasnât a bad student, but she wasnât an A student either. âIf I thought Iâd be any good at it, I would. But I know Iâd suck so weâll just save ourselves the effort.â

Every emotion that he could think of passed through his brain at the idea of someone reacting positively to his advances. This was supposed to be safe, act like a dick and no one will get close enough to touch. He looked at her, almost quizzically for the smallest of moments before letting the mask of smug defiance slide back over his features.
âIs that a challenge?â He offered, full of bravado that was too well rehearsed to be called fake. Even as his chest ached at the thought of actually having to try to hold a conversation with a woman that wasnât his mother, he wasnât going to give up the first chance that he had for actual companionship. âBecause Iâll let you know, Iâm very competitive.â
Joy could tell that he wasnât expecting the reaction he got from her, but most of the time men werenât expecting her reaction. Honestly, it was a strange on for a female, but she lived for attention, in any way that she could get it. Which was not healthy at all, but we digress. âIt just might be.â The brunette teased, loving the game that was unfolding in front of her and she winked at him. âCompetition is good for the soul. And who knows? I might even cheer you on while you try. Iâve been known to be a great cheerleader.â

âHuh?â Chihiro looked over at the sudden encouragement. She hadnât meant to make that shot. Not really, considering sports was never really her strong suit. Running she could do that. She had pretty sturdy legs, but anything that required coordination she tended to fall short on. âThank you! Do you want to try?âÂ
Joy smiled at the girl when she turned around and Joy shook her head at the offer, she was not one to embarrass herself, it was one of those things she was afraid of but would never admit out loud. Embarrassment. âOh no thank you. I couldnât make that shot even if I tried my hardest. I appreciate the offer though.â She said with a big smile. âIâm Joy by the way. Iâm pretty new around here.â

Blossom spun quickly, startled by the new voice. Sure, she may have had enhanced senses, but even someone like her could get lost in her own world sometimes. âThanks,â she gave the other woman a bashful smile, a bit embarrassed to have been caught shooting hoops. A younger Blossom would have scoffed at the idea of sports â just a waste of time, really â but turns out it was a surprisingly effective way to release energy. Ever since sheâd stopped using her powers, there was a buzzing, ever-present need to let it out. âIt was just a lucky shot,â â lie â âIâm more used to the sidelines, to be honest.â
Joy had always been one to be on the sidelines, she was a cheerleader in high school and not much had really changed for her, she just cheered everyone on, even people she didnât know. âWell it was a hell of a lucky shot. Some people would kill for that kind of luck.â She said with a giggle. âIâm a sideline girl myself. Always been the cheerleader, not the sports star.â

Diaval looked up at the woman smiling , she was nice to look at that was for sure although he knew full well what getting close to someone again meant. â Really ? Your my saving grace than dear.â He said before watching as she dug around in her purse for one, to be honest he was surprised she even had one. She didnât seem like the type to smoke, but then again who was he to judge. Catching the lighter that she tossed his way, he lit his smoke before taking a nice long drag. â You sure? I donât want to be jacking your only lighter, i just left mine in my other jacket. Also donât think ive seen you around before, Iâm Diaval.âÂ
âGlad to save the day. Iâm told making people happy is what I do best, so I just call it a job at this point.â Joy said with a grin and shook her head when he offered to give it back to her. âI donât smoke so I donât really need it. I just always have it in case I have to light a candle at work for a birthday.â She said with a soft laugh. âIâm pretty new here. My name is Joy, itâs nice to meet you.â
Joy was walking around the park, just enjoying the fresh air and the sounds of kids playing and families having fun in the park, she missed that for herself, and if she hadnât already been told she couldnât play on the jungle gym by police, she probably would have tried again. She watched as someone shot a basketball towards the goal and it went in with ease, bringing a smile to her face. âNice shot, cupcake! I wish I could shoot hoops like that.â
âYou got a fine ass, lil mama.â Butch said, spitting out the mint flavored toothpick that had long lost his interest. âMind if I get a piece of that?â He gave the girl a once over, licking his lips and letting a smile take over his features.
Joy heard the cat call and she turned, not even offended in the slightest by it like any normal woman would be, but she was far from normal and she took it as a compliment instead of the man being a pig. âWhy thank you. I work very hard in the gym for it to look this good.â She said with a grin and a little wiggle of her ass. âThough you will have to try harder than that to get me to give you a piece of it.â
Diaval sat on the stoop , of empty building sighing and looking at his loot it had been another great run of pick pocketing things from people in the town. He had put it in his back pack so that his pants didnât look like he had just robbed a bank, thankfully something Mal had never made him do. He sighed an pulled a pack of smokes from out of his bag, and went to light one when he noticed he didnât have a lighter. â Fuckâ he said before noticing someone walking past and he smirked. â Hey , happen to have a lighter on you mate?âÂ
Joy was on her way to her apartment from work, all smiles as normal, when she heard a voice call out which caused her to turn to find where the voice was coming from. She met the strangers smirk with a smile and she nodded. âI do actually, one second.â The brunette opened her purse up and dug through it for a moment before she pulled the lighter she took to work with her to light candles for birthday sundaes she had to make. Her smiled grew as she tossed it to the man and she zipped her purse back up. âKeep it. I can get another one before work tomorrow.â
